I am currently navigating the document model through all objects and manually adjusting the fill colour of desired objects. For example, for each layer, I iterate through the GroupItems, CompoundPathItems, PathItems, in the GroupItems I navigate the GroupItems, CompoundPathItems, PathItems, etc.
In order to change all the colours of the objects, it ends up taking over a minute to accomplish. But in the Illustrator UI, I can select a very complicated group item and change it's colour very fast. In the SDK, GroupItem does not have a fill colour parameter, so I have to iterate through all sub-items to change the colour.

I am using CS5.5, and I was watching a video of someone using CS6 inking a sketch with a calligraphic brush that has black stroke and white fill. I am trying to do the same thing, but every time I select the fill color and start using the brush it goes back to "none" as the fill option. Is this a CS6 exclusive feature?

If I flatten the transparency both sides of the gradient object looks like it's on a white background.
If I print it there's no difference.
A logo file was sent over to me with a white background. I am very new to Illustrator so I do not know how to change this. I checked the layers and it only shows 1 layer and an image file. I tried saving for the web, but there is no transparency area there either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI managed to create the Illustrator image I want & now need to take this image & use it in another application. However, regardless of which way I attempt to export - jpg, tif or png, I'm still getting the (white artboard) background, which I do not want. I attempted to create another box & blend the background to the background of the other application that I am using, but it's still apparent.
Also, with some conversion, my image became distorted or changed the image colors a little bit.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIm working in Illustrator CS5 and I've designed a logo for a client and want to send a version that is in color, a version that's black, and a version that's white. The color and black are fine since they already stand out on the default white/transparent background. But i want to put the white design on a background that will make it visible. Is there a way to set up the document so that the background is a color so that you can see the white design, but when it's place into another document it's just the design and dosen't include the backgound?

I used a heart fill pattern of the right 75% of the picture and the left 75% of the picture is selected overlapping the first fill in the background... I want to fill the selected background area with a flame fill pattern where it overlaps the selected portion of the heart pattern as well as the transparent area... 'overlay' looks better but Gimp is FAILING to fill the transparent areas, it ONLY fills the overlapped heart pattern portion of the selected content!!! I even tried filling the transparent area with 'white' then filling the selected area, but it STILL ONLY wants to overlay fill the heart pattern, it STILL leaves the rest alone!!! it doesn't matter if the background is white or transparent, it leaves that alone and ONLY fills the heart pattern area of selected portion of the image!!!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a logo that I made into a vector image. It is simply black text with a transparent background. I am trying to create a duplicate of the image- but with the letters inverted to white (still with a transparent background). I am pretty new to illustrator and am not sure how to get this effect. I have tried using the "ignore white" button in image trace as I did with the black text image, but all it does is erase my text too. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have also tried to go to "object/edit color/invert" but all it does is say there are no recognizable colors to invert....
