How to fill an area with a colour in Xara 6, when that space is surrounded by different 'objects'?
So say I drew 3 separate lines to form a triangle. How can I fill that triangle with a colour? If I select the Fill Tool and choose a colour, then click in the centre of the triangle nothing happens.
If I were to do the same thing in Illustrator then it would simply create a new shape that fitted the space.
Perhaps this is not possible? Such a simple thing though, I feel I must be missing something. Is it perhaps available on Xara 7?
I've selected a rectangular area of a jpeg and I want to fill it with a particular colour from another area of same image. Bucket Fill doesn't work here as it only selects from particular colours and shades in forground/background.
I used a heart fill pattern of the right 75% of the picture and the left 75% of the picture is selected overlapping the first fill in the background... I want to fill the selected background area with a flame fill pattern where it overlaps the selected portion of the heart pattern as well as the transparent area... 'overlay' looks better but Gimp is FAILING to fill the transparent areas, it ONLY fills the overlapped heart pattern portion of the selected content!!! I even tried filling the transparent area with 'white' then filling the selected area, but it STILL ONLY wants to overlay fill the heart pattern, it STILL leaves the rest alone!!! it doesn't matter if the background is white or transparent, it leaves that alone and ONLY fills the heart pattern area of selected portion of the image!!!
copy specific fill colour so that it can be filled in as stroke colour in other compound path. I attached 2 screen shots as below. I want to copy the blue olour to replace he red stroke.colour.
I just added a fill/texture to an image and now when I create more objects, the fill is still there. How can I re-set the fill gallery back to no-fill?
Im making some little buttons with filled backgrounds. Below is an example. Is it possible to adjust the resolution of the fill, lets say smaller, to make it look more crisp on the button?

The above looks nice, but the one below, this is suppose to be snow but the resolution is so large you cannot tell what it is.
it's regarding this image. Originally it was very dirty in the background (still is if you look at the striped mountains and cottage), and I've tried making it white by playing around a bit with the curve adjustments. Obviously the results weren't as white as I wanted them to be, so I decided to dodge some areas (on the other parts of this picture which I didn't include). Later on I decided to pick up the bucket tool.
It works very well, but now I'm having this problem. If you look at the red ground, it's all dotted. However, the bucket tool filled up some of these dots too, making the ground very thin.what I can do about this?how I can make the background white (the quicker the method the better!) in case the curve adjustment settings doesn't properly work?
When I want to flood fill -say a cloudy sky with blue, is it possible to use my own colour-that is an image taken of a blue sky instead of using one of the options shown after clicking to get the default colour choices in PSPro X
I am recently getting back into using Illustrator.
I am trying to draw 2 shapes, let's say 2 circles, fill them w/colors, then have them overlap each other.
The part where they overlap creates a DIFFERENT shape. I want to fill that 3rd shapew/a different color. How do I select that 3rd shape area and fill out?
I am new to illustrator. I am used to photoshop so this is a whole new ball field. I am trying to figure out how to fill in the area to the left of the design I drew with the brush tool. I tried using the paint thing and it gives me an error message something about it is not able to do that.
I have an image with a gray foreground and want to change the colour. With the flood fill tool selected I click on the foreground colour box in the materials palette.I click on the colour frame, the colour momentarily shows but does not alter the colour box.Clicking on the rainbow tab displays a box with black to white gradient in it.This will change the colour box to any shade clicked on.Clicking on the swatches colour tab gives varying shades in the colour box or does not change the colour box. What is going on here and how do I get back to normal so that I can change the foreground colour as before? PSPro X
I have created a curved line across my page using the Bezier tool. I need to fill the page below my curve to make it blue (and above the curve to stay white).
I am currently navigating the document model through all objects and manually adjusting the fill colour of desired objects. For example, for each layer, I iterate through the GroupItems, CompoundPathItems, PathItems, in the GroupItems I navigate the GroupItems, CompoundPathItems, PathItems, etc.
In order to change all the colours of the objects, it ends up taking over a minute to accomplish. But in the Illustrator UI, I can select a very complicated group item and change it's colour very fast. In the SDK, GroupItem does not have a fill colour parameter, so I have to iterate through all sub-items to change the colour.
I can't find any preferences for changing the photo editing area background colour. I am not sure what it is called but what I am talking about is the space in the middle of the program where photos open up into (not the workspace option which changes the menu bar colours of which I am using the blue option.) At the moment the centre area is a charcoal colour. When I am editing a photo which is smaller than this space it is surrounded by this colour and it makes it hard for me to see the thin black border which I place around some photos. Can I change the colour of the editing area to white?
I use Coreldraw x3 for cutting vinyl to put on shirts and windows ect. I cut on 14" and 24" rolls of vinyl. To save vinyl I make a rectangle in corel at 14x25" or 24x25" and then I put the graphics in that rectangle as snug as I can to make sure I conserve as much vinyl as possible.
I am wondering if there is a way to select my rectangle and the art that I want to piece into it and have the program automatically fill up the space as sparingly as possible. This would save me a lot of time and it would probably be more efficient for saving vinyl because corel would know the optimal way to piece the art in.
These gradients in gimp are really hard to figure out (not saying other things seem easy to me), however I'm sure if one knows what to do, they can solve many problems.
I had that screenshot of a text list:
And I wanted to make it fade away from the highlighted line:
However, with the blend tool, this is actually impossible or really really hard, because I can't aim it so preciselly.
When i use the pen tool to make a shape and then select fill path, i choose a colour to fill the path with, but it fills the whole page accept the shape. Is there a setting that needs turning off or anything like that!?
My corel x5 opens with object properties are set with x no fill and on opening a new document and creating a shape, it has no fill.
My boss opens corel x5 and his object properties are set with x no fill but on opening a new document his properties change and a blue color shows in his fill, and of course when he creates a shape it is filled with this blue color.
Yes, he can just change the properties to x no fill each time he opens a new document but i wondered if we can change it and have it set at x no fill as the default ? I have tried everything I can think of but it seems to want to keep this blue color as the default.
I have a map in AutoCAD and I would like to fill certain sections of it. The colour that I require the fill to be changes according to varying data in an excel spreadsheet. Is there a way of linking the two?
Is there a way how to sample from small area and then apply content aware fill to the much more bigger area? For example - there is an object on a table. The object fills 90% of the image and the table 10% image. Now, I just want to delete the object. But that doesnt work with content aware fill, because the area around it is much smaller.
PSP X6. In the Manage workspace, in preview mode, the picture on the preview area does not fill the frame but about 3/4 of it leaving the right and bottom ends empty. It is the same with the 64b and 32b vertions.
