AutoCAD LT :: Thick Text Shows In Viewport
Apr 5, 2013The text inside the viewports in one drawing in paper space shows thickened when zoomed in and is hard to read, and this only happens in one drawing.
What is the setting to change this?

I can see this brick pattern bump map in my working viewport but when I render an image, it doesn't show up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedText in the model space is displayed annoyingly thick. It was always ok but something changed beyond of my knowledge in one particular project only. Can't change it back, it plots ok though.
You can compare the pictures: two different files with absolutely identical text settings... And, when I try to choose between text styles in text properties it says "The current style has been modified..." although I did not! I think both things are related some how...
I have ACad 2011..
In the viewport, it appears that all my faces are flipped. When I apply an edit mesh modifier and show the normals, all looks fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to create a field that will show only a portion of the contents within an text object? Maybe using diesel or something?
Example:
There is a text object that contains "FIRST TEST", is it possible to create a field from that object that contains the first 5 letters of the text "FIRST". If the original text was changed to "SECOND TEST" the field would be updated "SECON"
It was working fine. Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. I just can't see my main assembly. I have Inventor 2012. It shows no errors or messages. I have even rebooted.
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
I have a inventor drawing where the text is not visible but shows up on the Print.
View 3 Replies View Relatedin any version of 3ds max to have an animation rendered as it looks like in the viewport. Without any render engine (scanline, mentalray etc...). So the exported avi looks exactly what i see in the viewport during editing.

When measuring the distance between points the distance is correct. However, when I click dimension and linear the text shows a smaller value. They should match.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've written a method that creates a block definition and inserts one instance the newly created block definition. The block is comprised exclusively of lines and text entities. When the method is completed, all entities appear correctly on my machine.
However, when other users try to run the routine on their machines, the lines appear correctly but the text entities all appear positioned at the block insertion's origen. And the other users must manually regen the drawing after the command is run to trigger the text entities to move (or appear to move) into their proper location.
Though it wasn't necessary on my machine, I tried adding the following line as the last instruction in my command-method:
_drawing.Editor.Regen();
But even that last line's programmatically-triggered regen didn't solve the text location issue for my users. They still have to manually regen.
I also ensured that all (or most) of a test user's system variables were set to the same values that I use (via Express Tools export & import). But that didn't work either.
I have this strange situation.. i use the Arial font inside my cad drawings and when i print my paperspace layout, the text inside the viewport is a little bit more "bold" then the text i put directly on paper space.
Maybe it's a trick to know what text is placed where, but i want all this to be uniform, same thickness. Is there a system variable to correct that issue?
See the image below: It's a 400 DPI scan from an impression i did.
Up to COUPE C1 is the text inside the viewport, under COUPE C1is the paperspace text. Both are the same height... but difference tickness.
When I type text in photoshop it only shows dashes. How can I change it to show letters?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy first immediate issue is text and dimensioning on view port.
If I dimension in a viewport, these dims appear on other view ports (referencing info at different scales) I thought I can write text and dimension specific to view port even if information repeated around sheet.
Secondly, if i have the above situation of my detail at 1:10 then more at 1:5/1:2, I want the hatch scale to be uniform in all viewports. What is the setting (so if hat5ch lines 2mm apart in 1:10 then I want them 2mm apart in the 1:2 as well.
Is it possible to find and zoom to text without switching back to the model space.
ie I am in a viewport in paperspace and i want to find text which resides in model space. I want to zoom to that text in the currently active viewport and not switch to its location in model space.
I can see entire drawing in the viewport but i can not see the text. I have checked my layers too. but everything is set right in layers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnnotative text does not show up in viewport even if the correct annotative scale is assigned
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have successfully created one drawing using annotative dims and text - I have set my text to 1:1 scale, height = 30 in paperspace (although I don't get what this refers to when it automatically says it's 30 in modelspace too) and my viewport is 1:20 scale. It's all good, the dims and text look great, which is what I want at the end of the day, however I got there.
But, when I want to set up another detail at 1:40 scale, I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the same dim and text style appear the same size as it was for the 1:20 detail.
They are the only objects on this layer with which this happens.

How do I get the text keynote to work within the wall type object properties? note I am trying out creating keynotes within objects rather than having them point to a text editor.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am currently running map 3d 2012 and my co-worker is running 2013. When she plots in paperspace, there is text that gets plotted that is outside of her viewport. When I open up the drawing on my computer, it plots perfectly. I attached a clip of it, the thick black is our drawing border, the viewport is where the color stops.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using ACA 2012 and when I insert a view into a sheet, the text and dimensions in the view do not display. I have checked the view and the text and dimensions are on layers that should display in the sheet. The layers are on and thawed in the viewport on the sheet, but do not show up. I have turned on all layers and only the model (building information) shows, no text or dimensions.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn paperspace the text are so out of scale and it only shows a specific area of the model view.the other viewports will have a realistic and 2d wireframe.
View 5 Replies View Relatedmy viewport is set for 2d wireframe, even when i have certain layers turned off or frozen the viewable lines in the layyers that are 'on' are broken as if i was in 2D hidden. text wont show up if over a "box" entity, no matter what elevation i set it at. The results come out upon printing as well.
There must be a display setting i am unaware of to fix this. Why do certain entities override others even if the later is at an elevation above it? Someone referred to draw order before but I still do not understand how to make that work.
Is there a way to get linetypes with text to read with the viewports?

It reads great in Model tab, but in paperspace tab, my viewport is rotated versus the Model tab

I have a drawing that is 50 scale. However my sections are all 10 scale. When I set my viewport to 10 scale, all my text is tiny. I can go into the style of the section view and change the size, but then it's too large in model space. Nothing I've tried will change the size of my text in paperspace.

why the text and leaders placed over viewports (in paperspace) keeps disappearing? The text is still there...just not visible. i can select the text with no problem. and if i move it off of the viewport then i can see it just fine. this is happening with all the viewports in my drawings... on all tabs. If i close the drawing and reopen then all the text appears again.....but when i switch tabs then come back...the text vanishes again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedInstalled CC a few days ago and appeared to work fine. Presents and Plugins up and running. Did the update that showed up already too. Tried to use the type tool for a customer project last night and it won't work. I just get a square black dot and no text appears, nor a text box. Use a MacBook Pro 17" with Mountain Lion.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a svg file that doesn't look right when it's opened in Illustrator:
The letter 'k' is a lot smaller for some reason, when in fact all the elements have the same font size.
This is what it looks like in Inkscape, and also what I expect it to look like:
Here is the svg code
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" version="1.1" width="3000" height="3000" viewBox="0 0 3000 3000" xml:space="preserve">
<g transform="translate(1289.38 698.88) scale(10.75 10.75)">
<text font-family="'Arial'" font-size="100" font-weight="normal" transform="translate(-117.5 99)">

The svg looks right to me, and not sure why this happens in Illustrator...but I'm not an expert on svgs and may be wrong.
I am currently converting my drawing to PDF. However, certain lines on the drawing are showing up bold and thick when converting. I understand that they are appearing and disappearing due to me turning on or off the hide/show lineweights feature. But I would like the lines to be default size. I don't need them thick.

In this particular exercise I was using only lines with modified thickness and 3DFACE once for the bottom.
1. Is it possible to cut the holes in the walls? If yes, how?
2. How to get rid of those annoying red lines (here they are the same as X and Y positive semi-axis)?
3. Where can I find 3DFACE and similar tools using UI? (AutoCAD 2012)
