View 1 RepliesI have successfully created one drawing using annotative dims and text - I have set my text to 1:1 scale, height = 30 in paperspace (although I don't get what this refers to when it automatically says it's 30 in modelspace too) and my viewport is 1:20 scale. It's all good, the dims and text look great, which is what I want at the end of the day, however I got there.
But, when I want to set up another detail at 1:40 scale, I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the same dim and text style appear the same size as it was for the 1:20 detail.
This is issue arises when i have been working on a drawing for a while with multiple xref/data shortcuts. The model space text is all the correct size yet once I enter a layout the annotative text relating to 3D elements such as Alignments/Profile Station/Elevation Labels shrink to 1/25 their size. Other annotative objects such as Mtext and Multileaders are not effected. Attached are before and after pictures.
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy viewport is set for 2d wireframe, even when i have certain layers turned off or frozen the viewable lines in the layyers that are 'on' are broken as if i was in 2D hidden. text wont show up if over a "box" entity, no matter what elevation i set it at. The results come out upon printing as well.
There must be a display setting i am unaware of to fix this. Why do certain entities override others even if the later is at an elevation above it? Someone referred to draw order before but I still do not understand how to make that work.
I'm using AutoCAD 2010 and I tried creating an annotative dimension but it won't show up in my viewport unless ANNOALLVISIBLE is set to 1. Both my annotative and viewport scale are set to 1/8"=1'-0".
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you change a view port scale of a view port that contains a bunch of annotative blocks.
How do you change the active annotative scale of all those blocks without individually picking the blocks.
So all the blocks appear the proper size in the viewport.
Having some trouble with some annotative hatches. Notably ones with patterns in them? I am testing them out in multiple viewports of various scales and for the most part they work great. But every so often in a particular viewport they either disappear altogether or shrink to a smaller size and bring my AutoCAD to a dead crawl?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with several layouts, and in one particular layout only, I want the text to be smaller than the annotation scale would dictate (the viewport is 1"=300', but I want the text to display at 1"=50' annotation scale).
I tried selecting the viewport and changing the "annotation scale" property to 1"=50', then the "standard scale" property to 1"=300'.
Strangely, this seems to work for a bunch of MText objects I have in the drawing, but it won't work for an alignment station label group or for a particular linetype...for some reason, those two things insist on having their annotation scale equal to the viewport scale.
I tried messing around with the alignment station label group's style but couldn't figure anything out. As far as the line/linetype, I'm completely at a loss why that one wouldn't change.
how to make annotative text also hlep me with some file i don't know how to use this command what is function.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running the antique CAD 2004 and went to layouts to start setting up a page. When I drew in the view port, it does not show anything of the model space, zero, zip, nada. Tried "Scale to fit", a new view port with no luck. I opened another project file, it work perfectly, just not this one. It doesn't have any Xref's that I can see, but it does have some proxy objects.
View 3 Replies View Relatedthere is a way to show or hide a specific object (not the layer it is sitting in) in a specified viewport without affecting its visibility in model space or other viewports. I came across a .vlx file from www.cadstudio.cz/dl./hideshow.vlx that does the job of showing or hiding an object in model space( and hence in all viewports).
View 5 Replies View RelatedAm trying to use millimeters for the first time. In model space, I set UNITS to millimeters. I draw a 5 unit line. No problem. I go to a layout tab and the viewport shows a 5" line, using a 1:1 scale. How do I make the viewport show a true 5mm line? If I choose inches as my units, the viewport scale is true 1:1 scale
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with a detail, I want to hide dimension from the big view port and show it in the detail as you can see in the picture:
I use Annotative dimension.
I cannot get my dashed lines in my model space to show up dashed in my viewport.
I already tried MSLTSCALE = 1 in model space and PSLTSCALE = 1 and LTSCALE = 1 in paperspace.
it did not work.
Dimensions show when viewport style is set to 2d wire frame, but only show when they are draged outside the viewport frame when it is set to 3D hidden. Policy is no diemensions in modle space. So how do I show dimensions in paper space with the viewport style set to 3D hidden?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI do not use annotative text very often, for the first time, I need 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch viewports in the same drawing. How do I setup the dims and text to appear correctly in both viewports?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a sample piece of annotative text that I dragged and dropped onto my tool palette. It works perfectly fine in the file I dragged and dropped from, but not in any other file. When I insert in into another file, the text is no longer annotative. I gave the text style a unique name in the file I dragged and dropped from.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having an issue with some mtext with a a particular annotation scale set.
Every time i open this .dwg all my 1:5000 mtext paper defined widths are shrinking. I can honestly say i am not doing anything as it just open this way! But all my other annotative text scale are fine?
I am running Autocad arch 2011 (as Autocad 2011) and a co worker is using Autocad electrical 2012 and when he works in a drawing of mine the every annotative scale that is used in the file is attached to every annotative object. Which means I have to go through every object and delete scales that should be be there....all my annotative objects appear in every view port because every annotative object has every scale..
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe like to allow user to select a rectagular area in modal scpace. Then the code creates a paperscace viewport in a spcified layout. The viewport will show the selected area. find the old VBA code that achived this and the .net code I am trying with. .Net code always gives some exception.
VBA Code
'Lets find the center of the viewport in paperspace.

center(1) = newLength / 2
center(2) = 0

How do I make annotative tags, callouts, and blocks non-annotative. AutoCad will not let me change them in the properties tab.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a co-worker who needs to create a block where the attributes scale with the anno scale, but the block container does not. He's creating a tree block and wants the canopy and trunk attributes to scale without scaling the tree symbol.
Making an attribute annotative and applying the scales to the attributes doesn't seem to work if the block itself isn't annotative.
Are we missing something, or is this just not possible?
Is there any trick that bring in an annotative block into a drawing at the annotative scale you are working in, not the scale the block was created in?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know it is a simple thing but for the life of me I cannot make it work. I must of hit a button and messed it up.
Annotative dims and text. I have multiple view ports ranging from 1/8 to 1-1/2 inch scale in one paper space. I have noted items (in model) and need them to appear in the different scaled VP's. However, too much is showing up. All scales in all vp's are active, not just the scale of the vp.
When I want to establish a new annotative text style, and I'm in the Text Styles dialog box, in the "Size" box, why will it not let me enter a Paper Text Height of 3/32"??? Every time I try it defaults to either 1/16" or 1/8". I have checked the Annotative box.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am really confused on an Annotative Text style issue. I have a blank drawing and i need to set up an annotative text, dimension and multileader style. So i started with the Text Style.
Now i would like the annotative text size to be 2mm, Arial standard. However whenever i try to do this, it changes my 2mm to 3mm which is not what i am after.
Is there some limitation to the font or is this AutoCAD error or am i just trying to do something odd.
I am using the copy and paste clipboard option to bring text into my drawing. The text was annotative at one scale and brought into a new dwg (model space) which had a different annotative scale. When I brought the text in, it came in too small, so I scaled it properly. It did not appear in the paperspace viewport, even thought it was there in model space. I did a properties on the text and it did not allow me to change the texts annotative scale.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to change our office template to have one text style and one dimension style that shows up at 1/8" tall text in any viewport scale. This would also include setting up the multiple global settings. Is this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy can I not check the Annotative Scale box for the attribute? Please see attached. The circle scales up and down but I only see the text in the 1/8" scale and but not in the 3/16" scale. The 3/16" scale is selected in the attributes scale box.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can set up anno text to appear for instance at 1/8" scale, but cannot get it to change for every scale, and for it to remain centered on the original position at each change in scale. I know it's something to do with how I set it up but cannot find it in "Help".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just called up a drawing I haven't worked on in a while. All the text is annotative with 2 scales, 1/8 & 1/4 and worked just fine. Now I see both scales at once, I can't get "grips" on it, it won't edit, and when I list it, it comes up as object type block "*uxxx", not text. If I explode it, it becomes text again, but as two separate notes of different sizes, and both remain visible, even though the anno scale is set for 1/8. Drawings that reference this also show both scales at once.
