AutoCAD Inventor :: Bump Map Won't Render But Shows In Viewport?
Jan 3, 2014I can see this brick pattern bump map in my working viewport but when I render an image, it doesn't show up.
View 1 RepliesI can see this brick pattern bump map in my working viewport but when I render an image, it doesn't show up.
View 1 RepliesThe text inside the viewports in one drawing in paper space shows thickened when zoomed in and is hard to read, and this only happens in one drawing.
What is the setting to change this?
I am dabbling with the new appearance settings in Inventor and for some reason or other; I can’t seem to align the weld bump map to what I would like. I want to shift the position of the map so it shows a full weld bead, not two halves as shown.
I have shifted the offset from 0 cm to see if it moves the position, but all I seem to be able to change is the scale of the bead.
It was working fine. Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. I just can't see my main assembly. I have Inventor 2012. It shows no errors or messages. I have even rebooted.
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
I was messing around with style editing, and added a texture map to a style as a bump. The bitmap I selected, however, was on my hard drive, not in the project search path. Now that I would like to check this part into the vault, I get the attached error message. I have since tried deleting, copying, moving the file from that hard drive to a legitimate search library.... removed it from every style it was used in, purged all styles, basically deleted it from every place I can find it, including going through the model tree and checking each individual feature (over 50!) to try to find it. It is still in the file somewhere, and I can't seem to figure out where. Is there no way to find and purge this offending bitmap?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm creating 3D architectural models; primarily interior views. I use the ANIPATH command quite frequently and I'm good there.
However, I have not been able to render a still camera view that shows the lighting and resultant shadows. Whenever I attempt to render a still from a particular camera; I set it to realistic. It shows the 3D objects with materials; however not the lighting.
I've been using ACAD for about 15 years now, and consider my skill level upper-intermediate.
So far, the only successful still renderings I've been able to do are those directly associated with the typical ortho views: i.e., NE, NW, SE, SW, front, back, etc. But no avail on rendering from the camera point of view.
In the viewport, it appears that all my faces are flipped. When I apply an edit mesh modifier and show the normals, all looks fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly simple 3D model in ACAD ARCH 2011. I am rendering it to a viewport on a layout that contains the company border / title block. If I render the model (presentation quality) to model space and send that to the printer (color laser) the print comes out in about 60 seconds or less. However, if I render the same image and quality to the viewport on the layout and send that to the printer, it takes between 10 and 15 minutes for the image to print. The layout is simple - just line workd border and title block. The images are identicla when finally printed.
Why does it take SOOOO much longer to print when with a layout as opposed to not with a layout? The rendering to screen takes the smae amount of time either way - it's just the printing procvess that is bogged down by using a layout.
URL....the concept is that the colours will change with the distance from the camera according to the mip map level(?).i am trying to render it in viewport and render it as image through mental ray.. It wont work.. it wont change its mip map thingie in viewport or render.. I changed to d3d, opengl same issue..I made mip map look at linear nearer no change.

I duplicated one of the standard plastic materials in Revit's lib and replaced the color with a cutom image (first tried jpg then png). I had to tweak the transforms to get it to fit the screen. Looks great in the camera view but when I render the transforms are off.
Here are some images to illustrate the issue.
Whenever I open my file or another file, it loads in Realistic render mode.
In addition whenever I switch to wireframe mode and press F3, sometimes it reverts back to Realistic render mode.
I want my viewport to render in Shaded mode in opening files and general default. How would I do it ?
in any version of 3ds max to have an animation rendered as it looks like in the viewport. Without any render engine (scanline, mentalray etc...). So the exported avi looks exactly what i see in the viewport during editing.

As the subject line says, when multiple instances of Inventor are open on the same machine, the addin will only show in the first one. I do not see any errors generated and tried many approaches. I tried to use the ribbon abpannelcontrol
created by the first instance. Or in every subsequent instance of Inventor to delete the existing ribbon abpannelcontrol, and recreate them from scratch. Both approaches did not work.
Recently I have had two assemblies change at random times to a monochrome color and I cannot change them back to their respective colors. I can open sub-assemblies and they show as the correct color but when I close them the main assembly and the recently open sub-assembly go back to monochrome. When placed on a drawing sheet they appear the correct color on the screen and printed in color. The Visual Style is Shaded With Edges.

When I bring in a .sat file, I see these little "i" in the browser. The red Cross is dimmed. If I hover over the icon, it doesnt tell me anything. I can right click on Base2 and choose edit solid, and the "i" goes away, but something is still not right. I know something is wrong, because the mass is not correct for this part.
Notice the green check by "Base 3"? After I edit "Base 2", I do not have a check by it.
How do I get this to report the mass correcly.
In an assembly of a gymnasium divider curtain, I create a path on a 3D sketch which snakes its way upward through a series of grommets. A circular profile is then swept along the path to create a new part - a cable. The cable is its own unique part document and is saved and then vaulted in a job-specific folder. The curtain assembly has several instances of this cable. Everything looks fine until the assembly is closed and later opened for editing. When the assembly is opened, the cables show up in the browser as "Unresolved." Graphically, they have disappeared.

I am using Inventor Pro 2014 on Windows 8.1 and when I insert or import a DWG file from AutoCAD into Inventor to extrude it into a solid, nothing shows up. Apparently a wizard is supposed to pop up but when I try it nothing at all happens. I have tried reinstalling it but nothing seems to work. I think importing a DWG into a 2D sketch is a fairly basic thing to do but I'm baffled that it isn't working. I have SP1 already installed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with Inventor 11 Studio. The reflection on the ground made by "XZ Reflective Gp" works in a way that when rendered, it shows a partial or cut reflection of my assembly, see attached .jpg file. I have not found yet where this "reflection depth" is regulated.

Is there a way to "update" the browser?

With all the service packs and updates installed 2012 still fails to sometimes recognize frame members properly. Not only is the frame mitre being ignored, the frame was never as long as the idw is showing. It was only as long as the edge. I have spent hours deleting and re-created the frame, views and even completely re-created the drawing but why it's doing this. 2010, 2011 & 2012 have all had frame generator bugs.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iassembly with iparts in an .iam file and I went to make a shop drawing of this assembly. When I go to do this, I get my parts list showing all versions of the iparts, even the ones that are not used. It will show a 0 in quantity.
This is under the "structured" view and I do not see a "pars" tab, which is what I've read I need to look for.
I've read that I have to be very careful with the way that I create iassemblies and iparts, How to make a drawing with a BOM that only shows the parts currently in use.
I have what is to me a rather large assembly. 1823 total occurrences in the active document and 700 open documents in the session. My problem is that when I open the assembly nothing shows up on the monitor in the image area. The tree is fully populated an showing visibility on all the parts.I have tried saving as a different level of visibility and still no go.
View 9 Replies View RelatedTrying to do two variations of an assembly using representations. I turned sub-assemblies off in different representations by unchecking "visibility." I can switch back and forth between representations in the assemby and the sub-assemblies go on and off, but drawing views where I've selected a given representation still show the "invisible" assemblies.
