Revit :: 2013 - Multi-segment Grid Markers And Dependent View
Jul 16, 2012I've placed the Multi-Segmented Grids in my large project that requires (6) dependent views per floor plan. In each of the dependent views, I'm trying to get the grid markers to show at the ends that ~I~ want them to show, but I'm not getting the checkbox.
Is this by design? Or is it a bug?

When I create an elevation on my floor plan - in this instance level 5 of my 30 storey building I open up the elevation and see the attached view. Its crop region is only 3mm high and therefore only shows me the floor of level 5 instead of the whole elevation of level 5 to the underside of the level 6 slab.

Sep 5, 2012What would cause lines to move left/right some seemingly random distance in an elevation view? Rarely, I run into an issue where detail lines and filled regions added to an elevation view (not text, or leaders) will move some random distance, I've attached a PDF showing the issue. No other elevations, plans, or sections have anything wrong with them. The model has not moved to a different position.

May 18, 2012why my interior rendering scenes just show up black. I have opened up projects from previous releases that I was able to get interior scenes to render correctly and they render fine in 2013. I've imported the modified fixtures to the current projects file and they still don't do anything. The scene I'm talking about has a ceiling modeled on the underside of a floor. I've read this may be an issue, but my light fixtures light source is to be 1/4" above the plane of the ceiling. In my case, it's a 5/8" layer of drywall.

Apr 23, 2012I have an interior amphiteather with stepped concrete steps and a bottom lower slab, which are recessed and below the ground floor level of 0'-0".
Before adding the topography to the job, the steps layout and the lower salb showed on plan, but since adding the topography, the lower steps and the lower slab do not show. Cutting a section thru the amphiteather, the earth is seem to be above the lower steps and the lower slab.
How can I modify the earth in this interior area of thh building so the earth (and topography) is below the concrete steps and the lower slab? (so these recessed concrete floor elements could be seen in the plan of the building)
Revit :: 2014 - Interior Lights Button Not Working?
May 9, 2013I am doing a trial of Revit 2014. Usually I get the student version, but I enjoy 30 days with no stamp. I want to do some night renders, and so I dropped in studio lights that aren't showing up at all in the "sun and artifical" render.
I go to adjust the lights with the "Artificial Lights" button and nothing. No response at all. It's like a fake button that just looks like it's being clicked.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Split Profile - Vertical (elevation) Grid Marks
Nov 19, 2013I received a file from another office which had a split profile. The only issue that my project manager and I have with it is that the profile lines themselves run from station limit to station limit, and therefore the profile lines run through the vertical (elevation) numbers. Is there a way to adjust the vertical (elevation) grid marks to clean this up?
I've attached a picture of how it looks now.
Revit :: Parapet Interior Wall Finish Above Roof Line
Aug 21, 2012I have an exterior wall with plaster and lathe on the exterior, and gyp board on the inside. When I edit the wall structure, and modify the layers so that I can take the interior wall finish only up to the sheathing line, the wall does not join at the corners properly. It leaves a gap for the interior fininsh at a corner above the sheathing line when looking in 3d. What are you all doing with parpet walls and the interior finishes above the roof line?

However, I have difficulties turning some of those blocks from the Plan View into the Elevation View, even when they show as elevation blocks. Even the downloads that show as 3-D end up being inserted as 2-D in plan view. In floor plan mode, I have no problem; so how do I turn them into 2-D in elevation mode?

Although with the recent technology advances I have migrated to the AutoCAD side of the fence, and loving every minute of it. What is the best way to draw walls in 3D?
What is the best way to add windows and doors? and is there a way to have the "plan view" relate with the "elevation view"?
How do you go about adding a roof?
I have played around in the isometric views attempting to solve the previous questions, although I have been doing all of it with line work. I know there has to be an easier and more efficient way of going about this....

I can find direction of this segment:
Vector3d zaDirection = line.GetLineSegmentAt(centerSegmentIndex).Direction;
Next, I create list of points:

And draw it:

Ok, I have triangle but... it's not in segment direction, it's X-direction.
I try to rotate it:

But it's not the same as I want.
How I can draw triangle by serment direction?

I have a dwg attached and it contains several closed polylines. when i am in subregion menu i use the pick line tool pressing the tab to pick all the loop. I can pick some loops but not all. Oct 3, 2012I use the split face tool on my ipt. When i create a idw of this part I want to show the split face line in the drawing. When I initially place the view the line is shown, however when the place view command is finished the line is not shown.
I see nothing obvious in the place view dialog box controlling the visibility of this line............how do i show this line in the view?

Feb 13, 2012In Revit sections, we can add split segment in plan.
How can we show the Horizontal sections in sectional view and how can we split the horizontal section such that the drop is vertical.
I know that one workaround to show vertical drop is to use plan region on the Horizontal Plan View. But is there a better way? If not is autodesk looking forward to incorporate this in further releases?

Dec 28, 2012I have a surface with a bunch of contours. I want to view the contours at elevation 550. In Microstation there is a set display depth command. Is there a tool in autocad where I can view certain elevations.
I want to make layouts/viewports that are clipped to different elevations. For example I have a surface with 5' contours. I want to create multiple viewports on a sheet showing what each contour looks like at its elevation.
