In Revit sections, we can add split segment in plan.
How can we show the Horizontal sections in sectional view and how can we split the horizontal section such that the drop is vertical.
I know that one workaround to show vertical drop is to use plan region on the Horizontal Plan View. But is there a better way? If not is autodesk looking forward to incorporate this in further releases?
I just download my Revit 2012 and the Project Browser does not show options for Elevations and Sections.It only shows Floor Plan and Ceiling Plans.When trying to bring Windows or Door, it says it is not loaded. It asking if I want load it. Well! The next step has 20 something options but nothing to do with Windows or Doors. How to get out of this Nightmare?

I would like to compare panoramas and it is quite difficult with a vertical splitting.
I have xref-ed two .dwg files into my drawing. They are on top of each other, and now I want to make horizontal sections from several smaller areas containing both files. However, when I do, all lines turn olive green and I loose the original layer structure (in the section, that is, not the original x-ref).
Is there a way to make these sections and keep the original layers in the sections? I'd rather not use xclip.
Is there a way to have the sections of left/right panels open automatically when mouse is hovered on them? They close automatically when I go to use another section...collections instead of files, eg. But then I have to open section again manually when going back. Very tedious. At the least, is there a way to lock a section open?

There is data for each year that will be plotted on the line, however I would only like to display every other year (1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, etc.). Is there a way to show every other year on the horizontal axis.

My sidewalk is curb side in some locations and in different locations there is a boulevard between the curb and sidewalk. I want to transition between these different assemblies and I want that transition to show up in the cross sections I cut. Isn't there a way to tell Civil 3D to transition from one assembly to the next one as you could in Eagle Point?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly simple corridor, however, I had to modify the alignment, rebuild the corridor and resample cross-sections. Now my right daylight slope won't show up. It shows up in the section viewer, but not the cross-section. I had this problem once before and fixed it, but now I can't remember how I did...I have all targets, sections sampled match corridor sampling etc.

I've got a series of cross sections that show an existing and proposed scenario and I need to show the location of the site boundary on the (multiple) sections.
I tried making a feature line from the site boundary but all the feature lines get projected - how can I just get the site boundary to be shown?
I have created a road for a pit mine (which is unlike roads I have designed in the past). The road switched back towards itself and I need to daylight the cut slopes to show the limits of the mine/road cut. However, my cut/fill lines are not showing up in my cross-sections, but the plan view is showing the limits of excavation.
I assume this is because my limits are intersecting, from each of the roads, the upper and the lower. How can I get around this, or why are my cross-section lines not showing?
In a particular road project i need to show for all the cross sections, the coordinates (x,y) of the main points ( for example: daylight, etw and crown). I know that i can obtain it from reports->corridor but as far as i know, i must edit in excel and paste each PK info next to the correspondant cross section.
Is there a way more automatic raher than copy paste the report list?

I have done a land survey showing a top of bank - and the bottom of bank, which ive then contoured by using Carlson Survey (AutoCAD engined).
Im trying to draw cross sections through my model that would obviously show the level of the surface.
The bank lines and contour lines are polylines.
I have a small problem, trying to print from R 2013 some pdf's of a long section of a building...aprox 30 m.With a scale of 1 to 20 ,,,the pdf just looks bad and unclear when you get to zoom a little bit in it.What am I doing wrong,although I use settings like highg quality pdf and so on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe just upgraded a project from 2012 to 2013. After upgrading, there are two floors which do not show up as cut in any sections (they displayed correctly in 2012). The two floors in question appear in the section, but not as cut elements (no cut pattern) and it is showing edges of the floor that should be well behind where the section is cut. One floor is 8" concrete and has been made to slope using the modify sub elements command. The other floor is a variable thickness floor modified in the same way to be the earth below the concrete floor since the topo is not nimble enough to follow the shape of the concrete floor.
I tried remodelling the floors. No luck.
I can model it in a separate file, cut sections in that file and have it display correctly. If I insert or paste that into the main model, it goes back to displaying incorrectly.
Our structural engineer had copied the lake floor into their model which is linked into ours, so I deleted the lake floors in the structural model, reloaded it and then remodeled the floors again. And it worked... in only one of the dozens of sections that show the lake floors! So that's one more than before...
In one of the attached images you can see the sloping lake floor and the earth floor below it as it should appear and in the other image you see them both in elevation rather than section. The 3d image shows the lake floor and the surrounding "earth floors". The center of the lake floor is 7'-0" below the outermost perimeter of the floor.
I have a structural model linked into my architectural and I cannot seem to cut the link in sections. All I can see is the 'elevation' of the link whilst my architectural cuts. I have the link set as by host view and the view extents correct.

I have a dwg attached and it contains several closed polylines. when i am in subregion menu i use the pick line tool pressing the tab to pick all the loop. I can pick some loops but not all. I cant see any difference between the closed polylines. why i cant pick all the loops? Is there another way to pick a lot of segments at one. Manually is very difficult . View 2 Replies View RelatedI am laying out a simple structure. Bearing wall to bearing wall is 35’, with a few non bearing walls between the bearing walls. I will be using a truss to span from bearing wall to bearing wall. What would be the best work flow for the drywall ceiling material. The ceiling seems to require a core element. I cannot seem to manage drywall alone. If I create a ceiling with 2x4 core and drywall finish and create a ceiling over the whole area the ceiling seems to auto dim to the ceiling finish and not the core 2x4. Then there is the issue of the clean up at the top plate were the wall and ceiling finishes meet

When applying 'paint' to the face it only gives me the options of materials not fill patterns i.e. hatches. How do I get it to apply hatches or is there a visibility setting that i need to change.

For instance I have a wall section with insulation in it and have placed detail components (2x4's) as top and tie plates. When I tag the insulation it shows a question mark, I edit the question mark to the desired insulation note no problems. However when I go to tag the top and tie plates they come in with the same note as the insulation. When I edit the note for the top plate it changes the insulation as well. How do I keep this from happening?

the situtation is splitting a floor face in the exiting phase to "paint" the floor tile pattern in the existing restrooms and then removing that once in the new phase and resplitting to "paint" the new pattern...
is it possible to split a floor face in existing phase, paint it, then move to new face and un-split and paint it to create a new split and new paint?
Certain exterior walls ghost out / disappear in plan when hosting a split face. This doesn't happen on all walls, and it suddenly appears on walls that were performing fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have an issue here where a user has N/S/E/W elevations of a building or radial type layout. Then there are sections derived from these elevations. If you open up the section pointing north and south you can place radial dimensions on the view needed. If you go into the section pointing east/west you cannot. It starts the command, just doesn't allow you to pick anything. I will post a sample file in a sec.
