Is there a way to have the sections of left/right panels open automatically when mouse is hovered on them? They close automatically when I go to use another section...collections instead of files, eg. But then I have to open section again manually when going back. Very tedious. At the least, is there a way to lock a section open?
View 1 RepliesI just purchased Lightroom 5.2 and am trying to edit without success. In the Develop panel, I can see and use any of the edit adjustments/sliders on the right. The edits are visible in the small photo in the filmstrip area at the bottom of the page but no changes occur to the main screen image as they are applied. Behavior is the same regardless of file type (.jpg or .NEF).
The photos will accept edits in the Library panel (quick edits) and apply/display them to the main screen image.
I am not able to find the proper folder in Windows Vista for installing additional actions.
My folders are as follows:
C:ProgramFilesAdobePhotoshop Elements10.0Localesen_US - (at this point there are 4 folders below but not one that says Workflow Panels)
notice the differences from what the other forum entries state:

In Revit sections, we can add split segment in plan.
How can we show the Horizontal sections in sectional view and how can we split the horizontal section such that the drop is vertical.
I know that one workaround to show vertical drop is to use plan region on the Horizontal Plan View. But is there a better way? If not is autodesk looking forward to incorporate this in further releases?
Is there any possibility to auto hide the Panel Bar and the Browser Bar ? I'm looking for something that works the same way as the AutoHide for the properties in AutoCad.

It asking if I want load it. Well! The next step has 20 something options but nothing to do with Windows or Doors. How to get out of this Nightmare?

My sidewalk is curb side in some locations and in different locations there is a boulevard between the curb and sidewalk. I want to transition between these different assemblies and I want that transition to show up in the cross sections I cut. Isn't there a way to tell Civil 3D to transition from one assembly to the next one as you could in Eagle Point?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly simple corridor, however, I had to modify the alignment, rebuild the corridor and resample cross-sections. Now my right daylight slope won't show up. It shows up in the section viewer, but not the cross-section. I had this problem once before and fixed it, but now I can't remember how I did...I have all targets, sections sampled match corridor sampling etc.

I've got a series of cross sections that show an existing and proposed scenario and I need to show the location of the site boundary on the (multiple) sections.
I tried making a feature line from the site boundary but all the feature lines get projected - how can I just get the site boundary to be shown?
I have created a road for a pit mine (which is unlike roads I have designed in the past). The road switched back towards itself and I need to daylight the cut slopes to show the limits of the mine/road cut. However, my cut/fill lines are not showing up in my cross-sections, but the plan view is showing the limits of excavation.
I assume this is because my limits are intersecting, from each of the roads, the upper and the lower. How can I get around this, or why are my cross-section lines not showing?
In a particular road project i need to show for all the cross sections, the coordinates (x,y) of the main points ( for example: daylight, etw and crown). I know that i can obtain it from reports->corridor but as far as i know, i must edit in excel and paste each PK info next to the correspondant cross section.
Is there a way more automatic raher than copy paste the report list?

I have done a land survey showing a top of bank - and the bottom of bank, which ive then contoured by using Carlson Survey (AutoCAD engined).
Im trying to draw cross sections through my model that would obviously show the level of the surface.
The bank lines and contour lines are polylines.
lost basic panel from righthand side adjustable panel, how can i restore it? There are everything else but basic ones.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just began editing a portrait shoot and realized that my paintbrush effects only work on about the bottom 1/3rd of my photo.
The little target with the plus sign in the middle shows up when I mouse over this photo from the mouth down, but when I mouse over the top part it turns back into the normal cursor. If I start using the brush at the bottom of the photo where the target/plus sign actually shows up and then drag it to the forehead, it works. But if i unclick at all it goes back to the original problem.

I am photographing and cataloging the paintings and drawings of an artist. There are over 3,000 of them. LR is such a good database that I am hoping I can use just that and add the details into the IPTC data - Title, Medium, Date created, Size, Price, whether sold and to whom, and - crucially - which shelf in the artist's store building they are located.
My idea was to use SlideShow Pro to publish the catalog to the web for dealers to browse, and my experiments show this would work very well, with IPTC data available on mouse-over.
I also need to produce a catalog with images and info for the artist's assistant so that she could quickly locate a requested painting on the correct shelf. Again this seems feasible up to a point as it is possible to print out the photos with IPTC information.
BUT - and here is my problem: I do not want all the info that the artist's assistant needs in the catalog to be available on the public slideshow, so have put different bits of info into different IPTC sections. But then I come across the limitation of printing in LR - only one section of IPTC info is allowed.
As it is I am at the moment also entering the info into a database (File maker Pro). I find on a good day with the wind behind me I can crop and adjust and catalog about 30 paintings an hour in LR. Also adding the info to File maker nearly doubles that. And more importantly it will be clunky and prone to error to have to alter or add to two separate databases in the future.
Is there a reason why I can not open the actions panel from the timeline when I have the code panel docked and open in application frame? If I close the code panel I can view the actions panel. Why can't I have both open?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEverything works fine with Auto Import except when an image arrives in LR so does the Import Dialog Window and I have to click it away with every shot. I am in the Library Loup View in the Fit mode. This happens weather the Import preferences has "Show import dialog when a memory card is detected" checked or not.I have Win XP 64bit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using these tool on a lot of images, because they often seemed to vastly improve them, making the colors pop on otherwise somewhat dull ones, and getting rid of unwanted color casts..
Later though I noticed that it is often at the cost of burning out hightlights in some areas beyond salvation.I also find shadow /highlight sometimes does this also.
Then I tried to protect some small areas with a mask before proceeding, but it seems that I can't find information on just painting a mask, but only videos with much more complex adjustment such as the Russel Crow or Lynda ones with maintaing hair detail while superimposing images, which is way beyond what I need in these cases.
If I try the wand to select and inverse I get unnatural looking divisions. Is it a matter of feathering to the right extent?
Can add the "keywording" panel in the Develop tab?
In my workflow, I rate or tag a photo only after I've made some PP adjustment. So, my workflow would flow better if the "keywording" tab resided in the Development tab as well. Is this possible? Can you add a panel from another tab?
In Lightroom 3, how do I customize the metadata panel, so I can organize the fields however I would like? It is a hassel to have to scroll through all the fields to get to the ones in which I have to import data.

Basically, it freezes and I get an error message "Lightroom has stopped working, Windows in looking for a solution" (which it doesn't seem to have found, yet.)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if there is a way to see the names of the brushes used in the History Panel?? All it says is "Add brush stroke" I that if you click on the brushes dots on the photo that you can see which brush is used, but I hate editing with those on, so I turn them off. Which means I have to do several clicks just to see what brushes I have already used. It would be so useful to just be able to see in my history which ones I used especially when you have to stop editing before you are totally finished with the photo and come back to it later.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI deleted a number of LR5 sidecar files (xmp) using Windows Explorer. Done deliberately!
Now, LR shows 'Sidecar files' - xmp in the metadata panel -- even though the xmp file no longer exists. Is there some way to tell LR that the file is no longer there? and remove the entry from the panel?

I'm attempting to add a caption to a few images while in "Library" mode.
The help file directs me to do it with the 'metadata panel' . I don't see it in my current display so going to "Windows/panels/metadata" and click that. But nothing happens... when I open the menu again I see no check mark in front of "metadata"
I also tried going to "Develop" mode and then using "Windows/panels/metadata", but again checking that does nothing.
Trying the KB combination Ctrl + 4 appears to do nothing as well.I may just not be recognizing the panel when I see it, but I've found nothing that says "metadata" on the current lightroom display window when in library mode.
Possibly I'm in some mode that is preventing the metadata panel from displaying, so tried closing and reopening LR. But closing and reopening appears to have worked not one whit.
I was editing an image in LR 5,when the basic panel disappeared. I attempted using the common key, right clicking, but the "basic" never came up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWith Adobe tech support, I consolidated my LR 2.7 catalog with LR 5 catalog. But when I opened up the older photos in LR5, I had only the L2 2.7 Adjustments available.
Do I need to reimport the older photos? I thought that an yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it would show up to update. Is 2.7 too far a leap to LR5?
