It should look like picture 1, but it always ends up as image 2. How can I solve this?
I have a single column of copy in illustrator and at the end of each line is a page number that is tabed to that point, looks fine but when I print to PDF they come out crocked, even saved the Illustrator copy and droped it into a photoshop file, and still shows up croocked?

I am working on a project for a park in which they are looking for a new access road and a parking lot. I created the road and sections for it, now im looking to get material cut/fill from the sections. I am having a tough time getting them to work. The only thing I can get to work is if i created a volume surface comparing my eg to my fg surface. That will give me a cut and fill material amount for my new road
What i am trying to get is the volume report for each sections, so i can get the cut/fill for each section. I have followed the tutorials and tried everything, but nothing seems to work. I created a surface from my corridor, and for some reason when i go to edit my materials, i cant add my proposed surface from my corridor to make the comparison from, and i think thats my problem. Everytime i go to create my volume report, i get all 0's.
When editing the Cross Section Styles the Horizontal Axis changes do not take affect. Vertical will work as entered.
See attached image.
I am changing under the Horizontal Axes tab, on the Section View Styles Menu.
I have imported a .dxf file of a surfboard from another program as seen below. My plan is to create various cross sections of the board in order to cut out a wooden frame. It seems like it should be simple enough but I usually use pro/engineer for any 3d stuff and I have had no luck using the section plane feature on autocad so far.

I can get my views to create a grid and such that look correct, however when putting them on sheets, it rotate the border, but also the modelspace. Are there certain settings in the sheet creation or the dwt file I need to review to do portrait sections?

I have created a drawing called xsec. I xrefed the corridor drawing into it and data shortcut the alignments in as well. I created sample lines and cut my cross sections in the drawing. Everything at this point looks fine.
The problem happens when I create a new drawing and xref the xsec into it. In this new drawing only the right side of my cross sections is showing up. I want to use this drawing for my sheet set rather than have a bunch of tabs in the xsec drawing.
had my cross sections ready to go all day, had to add points to my surface layer is all i did, now when i cut the sections they are all laying on top of one another.

My scope of work is as follows: The land for survey is approximately 1,500 feet by 110 feet. The survey shall consist of cross sections every 200 feet along the length of the rectangular shaped piece of land equating to no more than 8 cross sections. I am use to just doing regular topos and boundaries.

I sampled my sections at 25 feet intervals, created my section view group and them plotted my cross section sheets. All look fine.My problem is that I need to include Station 21+17.40 and some other similar stations (in-between the 25 feet intervals) into my cross section sheets without deleting the existing Sample Line Group and Section View Group. Is there a way I can sample my desired additional sections and add them to the existing Sample Line Group and Section View Group and re-plotted my cross sections?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe want to show two surfaces, an existing ground and a proposed ground, on a cross section. When the proposed ground meets up with existing ground, it would be nice for the line to end. With just existing ground continuing on. The surface is data referenced, and I would like to not break either of them. I thought adding a surface mask would cause the proposed surface to stop at the mask, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have everything needed for plotting of cross sections. Alignment, profile, assembly.
The "Corridor Section Editor" shows everything as it should be. Existing Ground, Final Grade, Labeling, etc. When "Create Multiple Views" or "Create Section View" only existing Ground shows. All layers are on.
civil3d 2012. I'm trying to find out how to create cross sections from existing ones that i have in autocad file. I allready have read for the way with offsets points, but is there a way to make full cross sections from the allready drawned? Is it possible to convert the existing lines?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWith reference to the picture attached, I am trying to find the overlapping area between two different cross-sections. I.e.the area of green minus the area of white.
The hard way to do it would be to sketch a closed polyline over the area I want but I have about 100 of these to do and more to come.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on creating a male mold for a canoe. I first designed the cross sections for the canoe and then began converting them to the mold cross sections. When I try to loft the cross sections I have converted so far, they all loft as I intended until I get to the rear of the canoe (sketch 8). The issue typically arises in gunwale section (the part that appears to be a notch in the sides). Everytime I loft, one of the gunwales splits/twists in an undesired fashion (in the image below the right gunwale is incorrectly twisted).
I do not understand why this is happening for a few reason:
1. The canoe cross sections lofted as planned, and I only added simple boxy shapes to those cross sections.
2. Each cross section is symmetrical (or at least from what I can tell they are).
3. The cross sections that are lofting improperly all have the same number of segments and are in very similar shapes.
I have attached the file of the cross sections and another file of an improper loft.
I have a corridor with 2 intersections. It is more or less like a main road with an off-ramp and an on-ramp, both on the same side, with a big triangle shape island in between them. It involves an existing road widening and a connection with another existing road. Since it is a real scenario, the intersections aren't perfect 90 degrees nor the offsets are constant.
Create Western intersection and change offset and curb return targets to design aligments.Create Eastern intersection and change offset and curb return targets to design alignments.Model the corridor as per design requirements.Due to design constraints, I ended up removing both intersections. I didn't delete all the offset and curb return alignments although they're not targeted on any region. Deleting this alignments seems to make C3D crash. the actual intersection definition hasn't been removed, as I read on other threads. I kept on getting a couple of error messages on Panorama Event Viewer every time I rebuild the corridor.
So, the problem comes when I try to output the cross sections from this nice looking corridor. They all look fine until they reach the intersection area. From the intersection onwards, the corridor is not displayed on any cross section. Even way passed the western intersection.
Why the corridor doesn't display on the cross sections passed the deleted intersections?I have a bad feeling that removing the intersection wasn't a good idea in the first place but it's too late now.
I am working on a project which has numerous existing conduits laid out on the site. The location of the services has be picked up by a surveyor on the surface at numerous location and provided as a 2D polyline. The lines are quite long with a large number of nodes.
I wanted to represent the conduits as say a 100mm pipe and locate it about 0.6m below the surface to get an idea of how it impacts my works.
I tried converting it to a network fails as there is >70 nodes. I really only need to see the conduit on the cross section as I will definately avoid it.
Is there a way to display 3D polylines in cross sections?
I have multiple surfaces representing topsoil, clay and types of bedrock, and an alignment set with sample lines and sections set. Trying to use the Compute Materials using material lists and the corresponding shape style to hatch between each surface something is going wrong. With all the display settings (Plan,Section,Profile, etc) set to by layer and on a created layer(not on 0). The shape area fill is set to solid. It will not display the hatch.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with the pipe networks drawing the pipes incorrectly in the cross sections. Whenever there is a crossing pipe running parallel with a structure, the pipe shows as a large ellipse instead of showing the pipe walls.
Some of the pipes are not running exactly parallel with the sample line, but they are pretty close. I know in the profile view you can change a setting to make a pipe show as a pipe end or as a regular pipe. Is there a setting for the cross sections as well? If not how do I get the pipes to show correctly?
This looks like an interesting tool

I have a rounded rectangle with shading over multiple layers. I created a new layer on top of it, so there are 6 layers now.
I draw a rectangle on top of the button to designate the shading only area. I want to use my wand to only select the area my button and the rectangle intersects.
Is it possible to select a cross section of all layers or do I have to merge all of the buttons layers then use my wand?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a corridor with two baselines, one on the south side of the road, and one on the north side. The south baseline appears correctly in the section view. It is an asphalt bike trail with a ditch to the left side. The north baseline was not appearing at all. The assembly was just a ditch with nothing else. I changed the north baseline to use the same assembly as the south to troubleshoot. The pavement comes in, but the ditch still does not appear.
I can see the ditch feature lines on my corridor (see attached), but they are not appearing in the section view.
have a good style to label cross sections at profile grade, top of curb, bottom of curb, grade breaks, and back of walks? Do I set a point or something in my assembly to use to label those points?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am evaluating volumes of concrete removed from a surface and the volumes of concrete poured to replace the demolished concrete.I have created surfaces for each stage of the process in individual drawings.
I have created a drawing for the section views and successfully created cross-sections showing all the surfaces. When I compute materials, determining cut material between 2 of the surfaces, the end area is not always determined at every station.
I have previously noticed end area "shapes" with breaks in them. Each time, this was because there was a void in the surface triangulation. Is there any way that I can interrogate a surface to check whether the triangulation is incomplete, with voids in it?
I posted last week and included the attached screen print showing incomplete triangulation which I only noticed by turning on the "Shades of Gray" visual style. There must be some way to check surfaces without having to use the memory gobbling visual style.
