I have a problem inserting the slanted columns when I use the "Beam/Column joints" commando. When I insert the slanted column, the beams are divided.
Â
It should look like picture 1, but it always ends up as image 2. How can I solve this?
How can we calculate the formwork of column & beam? Is it possible to add "Height" parameter in Column. Because we add formula into the Family file as below: Â Perimeter = (2*Depth+2*Width) Formwork Area = Perimeter*Height
I have a single column of copy in illustrator and at the end of each line is a page number that is tabed to that point, looks fine but when I print to PDF they come out crocked, even saved the Illustrator copy and droped it into a photoshop file, and still shows up croocked?
When I try to calculate bending moment stress thru "Beam and column calcultor it shows an error that is Wk and Jk is missing. Ok that is fine. If we put values for both we will get the answer. Because I have come to know thru inv discussion that many material in the CC do not have these values.
Now my question is when we insert a part for example from content centre (CC) and do FEA analysis on this part. It shows some values like deflection, stress etc etc. How is that possible? one side it is not doing in the beam calculatio but other side in FEA it is doing that.
It means we are not going to rely upon these results in the FEA. It is the same CC, same inventor, how should be trust the result in FEA.
I am having trouble using the beam and column calculator in Autodesk Inventor. Â When I choose the beam that I want to test all the dimensions are not being put in automatically.
This is happening with most types of beams that I import from the CC the angle (6X3-1/2X3/8) that I am trying to test is getting no Wx, Wy, Wk or Jk. and the I beam (W6X25) is not getting Wk and Jk.
I am using beam/column calculator in the frame generator in inventor 2010 suite.I have a beam being used for a flight of stairs it is positioned 40 deg above the 'floor' or my xy plane in my assembly.I want to place a distributed load acting as if there were several people stading on the stairs at one time so in the direction of the z axis of my assembly. The problem I am having is I try to change the angle of the distributed load but it only allows me to change the x and y components of the load.Â
a) change the angle of the laod in the Z directions
or
b) change the cordinates in beam itself so the x axis is along the length of the beam instead of the z axis.
I have tried adding a UCS to the beam part but it still wants to choose the length of the beam as the z axis.
In Bill of material i have custom PartQty column and is beside QTY column. I need all informations from QTY column to PartQty column to copy. Possible with iLogic? I'm selecting now manualy copy and paste but it would be nice to have automatic.Â
I am trying to publish to the CC a guide rail. The vendor of the rail gives me the option of entering the desired length of the rail. After that he gives me the option to choose between the length that I entered and a shorter and longer standard length witch can be delivered faster.
I want to do the same thing with my published part, but I cannot make a key parameter to change depending on the entered custom parameter. I want the user to make the next steps when inserting from the CC: 1- select the size of the rail; 2-select the type of the rail; 3- enter the desired length of the rail; 4- choose between the desired length and the 2 recommended lengths (I need these 3 lengths to be shown)
I am having trouble creating my own column and beam  structural column schedule structural framing schedule  i do not know the settings to be ticked for me to create the schedules and make them appear after i create new scheduling...  also i want to know how the graphical column and beam works...  then setting the level in the schedule to make them reflect instead of using the comments section...  Attach here is a screenshot of the levels...
I am doing the structural frame of a house with curved walls and I needed to use the Model in Place command to create a curve shaped column. I defined it's category as Structural Column, but it takes the fill pattern of the wall. When I isolate the column, it has the same fill pattern as the column from the library. I need that the column will be displayed as the other structural column.
The bread shaped object is a structural concrete column with two corners rounded. Â Why can I see the new wall's lines ghosted through a structural column? Â AutoCAD 2010 AutoCAD LT 2013 Revit Architecture LT 2013
I am trying to model a column to a curved profile as shown in my sketch. I have opened the structural Column family and imported the curve profile i require it to follow om my required work plane and tried to model a sweep but i'm having problems... Â The Sweep will not follow the line of the profile and the column is offset. Â Look at the images.
Created a family with category 'column' in order to make in room bounding. Â This family is basicly some extrusions. nothing fancy about that. However when placed in my model these extusions merge with the wall and inherit their properties which I don't want.
Revit Arch 2012. Â I've got some large grids in the model and need to adjust their 2d extends in a matchline plan. Â However every time I try to do so, I receive the "Element is too small on screen" error. Â Screencast of error in action.
[URL] Â I mentioned in the vid that the grids were Copy/Monitor'ed from "another drawing"... I meant another model.
I am doing a five stories building and when ad the structural column with concrete cast in place material, the representation in plan view does not cover the block hatch of the wall. See attached image. I have read all about structural columns and did not find any solution.
Quick explanation of how to make columns display as columns in the coarse level of detail instead of just as sticks? Â I know I'll have to edit the family but I can see anything obvious to change.
I have been writing a description for a set of logos down the left side of a page, in a column. However I want to write the text at 45 degrees within the column. I have fiddled with the pen tool and text direction settings, but to no avail.
For unknown reason to me, when I click on properties icon column on left side describing selected properties does not appear. How do I get back the properties column on the screen?
How can i put a 3 column guide in PS like I am building a website? This way I can use each section on its own and know where my boundries are. I guess I could just draw a line, but I want something that I can adjust quickly.
Is there a way to customize the BOM columns so that Inventor remembers which columns I need? I know that I can add in the file name column etc. but I use the same columns over and over. I find myself in every assembly adding these columns in.Â
