Revit Arch 2012. I've got some large grids in the model and need to adjust their 2d extends in a matchline plan. However every time I try to do so, I receive the "Element is too small on screen" error.
Screencast of error in action.

I mentioned in the vid that the grids were Copy/Monitor'ed from "another drawing"... I meant another model.
I have a floor plan that is shaped like an 'L' and I'd like to have the grids in the corner of the 'L' be at a 45 degree angle in relation to the rest of the grids. Is that possible in 2012? I have tried to do it using the Custom Grid Convert tool and have had no luck.
I have my grids assigned to a scope box and have modified the extents of many of them. How can I apply that to the remaining floors? I think you are able to do this with dependent views. How about with adjacent views on the rest of the floors?
Several times, we generate a drawing, and the text widths in the columns vary greatly. Some have text that is ten characters long, and others have thirty-plus characters.
Is there a way to be able to select the table (or perform the command to all tables in the current layout) and have each of the columns expand to the appropriate width, that depends on the longest string of text in that column, for each column. The problem I see, is that some tables have two columns, some have six, and of course other with any number in between. The same is also true for the amount of rows.
Any lighting fixture families in revit Architecture that snap to the ceiling grid? I've seen them in Revit MEP. Would be a lot nicer than having to align them manually.
I'm inquiring whether or not it is possible for Revit ceilings to be customized by the input of a user regarding the shapes and sizes without using a .pat file. Almost like a parametric object with predefined limitations. For example: a rectangular ceiling tile 'x' can be from 6 inches to 10 feet and side 'y' can be from 6 inches to 6 feet. So someone can select the ceiling type and actually input what size 'x' and 'y' they'd like while staying within those limitations.
I am trying to create a Window with adjustable colonial and prairie grids. I have created many windows like this so I know I am able to do it. I am currently working on creating the colonial grids. I have it partially working. I can adjust the height and the grids will move correctly with the window with no problems. But when I try to adjust the width I get the error "constraints are not satisfied" I have no idea why I keep getting this error message because to me this should work and I have run into this same problem multiple different times. Why can I adjust the height and not width?
How does one separate the sound from the visuals of a shot video clip so the audio can be treated as a separate entity to the visuals in Photoshop cs6?
I am doing the structural frame of a house with curved walls and I needed to use the Model in Place command to create a curve shaped column. I defined it's category as Structural Column, but it takes the fill pattern of the wall. When I isolate the column, it has the same fill pattern as the column from the library. I need that the column will be displayed as the other structural column.
I am trying to model a column to a curved profile as shown in my sketch. I have opened the structural Column family and imported the curve profile i require it to follow om my required work plane and tried to model a sweep but i'm having problems...
The Sweep will not follow the line of the profile and the column is offset.
How can we calculate the formwork of column & beam? Is it possible to add "Height" parameter in Column. Because we add formula into the Family file as below:
Perimeter = (2*Depth+2*Width) Formwork Area = Perimeter*Height
Created a family with category 'column' in order to make in room bounding.
This family is basicly some extrusions. nothing fancy about that. However when placed in my model these extusions merge with the wall and inherit their properties which I don't want.
I have designed some packaging artwork using Illustrator which looks fine although I would like to see the artwork as it would look when made up. The artwork will be used for pouches, bags and boxes. Is there a way of creating a generic 3D pouch, bag and box that I can wrap the existing artwork around?
In Bill of material i have custom PartQty column and is beside QTY column. I need all informations from QTY column to PartQty column to copy. Possible with iLogic? I'm selecting now manualy copy and paste but it would be nice to have automatic.
I am doing a five stories building and when ad the structural column with concrete cast in place material, the representation in plan view does not cover the block hatch of the wall. See attached image. I have read all about structural columns and did not find any solution.
I usually duplicate a baluster from the family and adjust the widths to what I want. I'm trying to make a 1/2" x 4" baluster but its not changing to the new dimensions.
Is there a way to adjust the length of the tick marks used in dimension strings? I'd like something other than the supplied Diagonal 1/8" or Diagonal 3/64" options.
