Ive got a problem with creating elevations. When I create an elevation on my floor plan - in this instance level 5 of my 30 storey building I open up the elevation and see the attached view. Its crop region is only 3mm high and therefore only shows me the floor of level 5 instead of the whole elevation of level 5 to the underside of the level 6 slab.
Why there is no infill when there is a hight elevation change? the path is a "building pad", and I'm pretty sure normally it's filled with dirt....Did I do something with the site setting?
What determines the default elevation when inserting familes? I have a wall hosted family that always defaults to 4'-0". I have tried setting the default elevation in the family but it always defaults back to 4'. I have this issue with other familes as well.
I know I can set the elevation when I insert it but having to so that every time seems pointless when the elevation will never change for a family.
I have a model whit lots of non orthogonal walls. How can I control the alignment of an elevation view? Align does not work, and the elevation tag has almost not options. I tried with an scope box, but I get a message "elevation must be parallel to the scope box" That is just what I want!!!!!!!!!
1) How do I keep a section line from showing up in two different elevations:....have a section line in east elev.....it shows up in same spot in west elev.....but the view is the east elev....only want to see section line in east elev?
2) While looking at my west elevation, I can see things in the east elev, which is 100' apart.....how do I keep from seeing(and selecting!) things in the east elev while looking at the west elev?
What would cause lines to move left/right some seemingly random distance in an elevation view? Rarely, I run into an issue where detail lines and filled regions added to an elevation view (not text, or leaders) will move some random distance, I've attached a PDF showing the issue. No other elevations, plans, or sections have anything wrong with them. The model has not moved to a different position.
I have a problem wit Revit 2014 from BDS Premium. I don't have 3D default view icon in Quick Access Toolbar and I can not add it. I tried to right click on QAT and customize it but unfortunately 3D view is not in the list and it can't be added by righ clicking on the icon.
I am trying to insert blocks into my drawings and for the most part I have been successful using Design Center. However, I have difficulties turning some of those blocks from the Plan View into the Elevation View, even when they show as elevation blocks. Even the downloads that show as 3-D end up being inserted as 2-D in plan view. In floor plan mode, I have no problem; so how do I turn them into 2-D in elevation mode?
Residential custom home design. I come from the good old fashioned background of pencil and paper drafting. Although with the recent technology advances I have migrated to the AutoCAD side of the fence, and loving every minute of it. Upon purchasing a copy of AutoCAD 2004, I continued drafting the way I knew how, lines on paper. I have recently upgraded to AutoCAD 2007, and with no formal training, I am looking in drafting in 3D.
My main question has multiple parts;
What is the best way to draw walls in 3D? What is the best way to add windows and doors? and is there a way to have the "plan view" relate with the "elevation view"? How do you go about adding a roof?
I have played around in the isometric views attempting to solve the previous questions, although I have been doing all of it with line work. I know there has to be an easier and more efficient way of going about this....
I use LT 2010 and have defined a multileader style which is annontative. When i use this each time i have to make he text annotative and set the height even though it uses the right annotative text style.
How to default Z into 0 elevation? I am editing drawing, everytime I am creating object I cannot fillet because its not coplanar. i have to flatten them.
I have two different images. Both are set at Height and Width: 7 by 10.5 inches. However, whenever I view them, the one is always bigger than the other one. Does this have something to do with the pixel dimensions? I see that the pixel dimensions of the one is much larger.
Fiddling around with schedules, I found a workaround to set the row height. Simply:
1 - Add a field which doesnt' contain any data to the schedule; 2 - In the schedule view, select the field's column and in the appearance tab, define a font size to whatever size of rows you would like. 3 - When you now add the schedule to a sheet, you can see that the height of each row is bigger 4 - If you selected to show gridlines, you can define the newly added column in the schedule view to have no borders
And that's my workaround. It's way better than adding spaces and adjusting widths.
With no luck, I have been trying to figure out how to insert a blank value for ceiling heights in a finish schedule. There are other rooms with blank values, however it appears that rooms that once had a ceiling can no longer have a blank value. From the research I've done it seems the only way to correct this may be to delete and recreate the room.
Need to make a wall with varying height. For example, 3000mm at one end and 4000mm at the other. The result would be a sloped ceiling and roof. Should I make a 'mass' and attach a wall to it or is there a way to vary the height of an existing wall?
I cant find a way of suppressing the height figured numbers (to replace with GFL and 1FL) . Prefix and suffix do the text ok but for appearance sake (ie client requirement) want to change lots ov spot heights to surpress the numbers. How can I do this - I realise its a system family but usually there are some params - not on this family though?
Is it possible to change the text height of a drawing view label through VBA?
I have tried to change it by creating a new text style manually with the text height I require and then through VBA set the view label to use that style.
The View label takes on the new style but does not change the text height.
I have tried to use 'StyleOverride FontSize=' but I have text that is multi lined and using this command converts all my text onto one line.
Is it possible to change the text height of a drawing view label through VBA?
Below is my code so far,
Sub HoleDetailSheetLabels() ' Declare the Application object Dim oApp As Inventor.Application ' Obtain the Inventor Application object. ' This assumes Inventor is already running. 'Set oApp = GetObject(, "Inventor.Application")
I have got a split level building with hanging light fixtures in a double height room. The cable is connected to the double height ceiling, but the fixture itself hangs right down to below the split level used in another part of the building. I have set the light fixtures level to higher level, reduced the hanging distance right down, tried change the host, but they still hang below the split level line.
The fixture is the Rectangular Hanging Light Fixture from [URL] ... And the drawing is in millimetres.
