I know I can set the elevation when I insert it but having to so that every time seems pointless when the elevation will never change for a family.

Ive got a problem with creating elevations. When I create an elevation on my floor plan - in this instance level 5 of my 30 storey building I open up the elevation and see the attached view. Its crop region is only 3mm high and therefore only shows me the floor of level 5 instead of the whole elevation of level 5 to the underside of the level 6 slab.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create an elevation label that will give me the spot elevation followed by the letters "TC" and then on the line below subtract 4 inches from the elevation followed by the letters "BC". It's easy enogh to add the letters but the simple equation of elevation - 4 inches eludes me.

A few weeks ago I did not have this problem but once my computer was switched to the company's global server and c3d was reinstalled the problem appeared. Furthermore (post switchover), when a colleage of mine prepared a simple test drawing with just a line and a point, he was able to snap to that line without the point changing elevation. When he sent that drawing to me and I tried snapping the point to the object, the same problem occured with the point taking the elevation of the line object. I suspect it is a system variable issue
i have some existing drainage pipe and structures in a base plan that i need to change the invert (which is the easy part) and the top elevation to the existing top elevation that does not meet the minimum presect in civil 3d 2012 is there a way to change these min. to match my exisitng elevation for example i have a catch basin invert is 15.45 top is 17.56 with a 18" rcp the cover will be less than 12" and i need to change this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a situation where the default behavior of my rectangle tool (or any of the other shape tools) is now different. I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.5 running Illustrator CS5. It acts as though the option-shift keys are pressed, so whenever I draw an object, it draws from the center point and the dimensions are constrained, so i can only draw a square or circle, not a rectangle or ellipse. Additionally, whenever I use the selection tool, it clones the object I drag, and also constrains the positioning, so i can only drag in a 0, 45 or 90 degree angle (or multiples thereof). It's as if my option-shift keys are permanently pressed (if I actually press option-shift, the behavior persists). I tried using a different (brand new) keyboard, tried throwing away preferences, and the problem remains. I also tried booting up Illustrator CS4, and the weird problem showed up there! This behavior just started happening spontaneously. I couldn't think of anything weird that happened (a crash, a new plug-in, etc.). I can't find a preference that sets this behavior either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing of Polyline. The elevation of Polyline's are set different. But I don't need the elevation. So I change the elevation to 0. But after making it 0 all the polylines are scattered. How will I make the elevation to 0 not hampering the polylines.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with lines that begin and end outside the Z is zero, and polylines with elevation outside the Z zero. The difference is very small, for example, -0.00000112, or 0.00000078. I checked the possibility of using the Flatten command but does not always work, even though there hatches in the drawing. Polylines and Blocks also cause problems with the command by flatten.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI used the Volume dashboard to cal volume so when I view the surface in object viewer or 3D I see my TIN volumes surface at zero elevation is this right? I think the reason is because they want us to see both surface so they are not on top of one to another.

Ive tried to use the CUI to find it but no luck.
View 5 Replies View Relatedmake a drawing to be flattened and set to elevation zero.
I do have the flatten command from express tools, and that works only to make everything to 2d, but i need a simple script routine to set all objects to elevation zero.
This is my current methodology
1. select objects
2. flatten
3. select same objects
4. explode
5. select same objects
6. explode
7. select same objects again
8. In property's, adjust Z axis to 0.
I fear that this is too long and bulky, and sometimes it wont work.
I also fear that any lisps routines are completely out of my league as i never used them before and my company never really had a need for them, but i am willing to give them a shot if it means that they will save me some time.
I am trying to make a autoamtic elevevation as attached. but still no luck, i dont know how to do it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAny way to label the elevation of an object where it is picked? For example, I'd like to be able to pick on the node of a feature line or 3D polyline (or any object really) and have a label placed that displays the elevation of the object at the point where it was picked. This could appear similar to the surface spot elevation label, but instead of getting it's elevation from a surface, it would come from the object where picked.
Alternatively, any way to create a label style, perhaps using the Note label, to display something like this? I don't even care if it is dynamic or not, static would be fine. However, I do need it to scale innovatively . Tool Pac has a feature that does this, but the label is just a polyline and text that is not annotative.

So I've got a Construct that is the building model. I also have a View file for my 2D extracted elevations. I've just 'Refreshed' one of the elvations based on some updates I did to the construct model. But when the 2D elevation refreshed, it's surface hatching (roof tiles) scaled itself down considerably. What controls this? I need to have that hatching scale back up and don't know how.
I turned the visibility of Elevation & Offset label off. How do I get it back. Not all just one spot.

I conducted 2 surveys on different days and somehow the second survey was off by exactly 0.9 (don't ask because I do not know). With the temperatures being -10C with a very high windchill. I said I would worry about it after the fact once I put it into CAD.
So I am on to Civil3D 2014. I imported the 2 .FBK files and was wondering how to do an elevation drop of 0.900m for just the one survey quickly.

How to get the Axis line on a steel Member (W18) to show when creating 2D Elevation or Section of It. I have been able to create center lines by placing a 3d grid and then changing from No Plot and it creates center lines on the elevation. But all jobs do not require a 3d grid so I would like the axis line form the member to show in the 2d elevation.
