View 19 RepliesI have created polka dots or even more complicated pattern in previous version illustrator. They are perfect. When i migrated to the CS5, the exactly same pattern always have a fine line in between the pattern swatches. After i export the artwork to jpg in 300dpi, they are still there.

how to make tilable images that are seamless? A very long time ago, I had a program that would paint on one side as I paited on the other (making the image tile seamlessly). However I do not remember the name of the program and was hoping that PS will do it.
Just need to create this as a background tile for a web page for a site that is for a rock climbing photographer friend of mine.
Should be easy enough but I just cannot get a really good looking effect.
To be honest any kind of 'stone' effect will do, it just has to look good and not like sandpaper.
I played with the feature a bit and understand how to create the patterns. Problem is when I go to fill in my 12x12 space there are seams. I have chosen different sizes in the pattern window but all show up with seams when I fill the larger space. Am I doing something wrong or is the largest size you can create with this tool seamlessly only 9x9?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a seamless pattern in CS6. Before I had CS6 I didn't have this issue.
So, I have my 1500 x 1500 pixel document.I have set up the new pattern design in the center that I created.I go to Filter/Offset - wrap around and choose 750 px for both the vertical and horizontal.I fill in the spots, not touching or going to the edges to create the rest of my patterned tile.Define pattern. Then, go to fill a new larger document with the pattern and the offset is not seamless. See attached.
I have not encountered this problem before and have made lots of patterns this way. I do realize I can do this in Illustrator, but my client needs a PS file.
I am trying to create a seamless pattern brush in CS6 .When I use the no fill/no stroke bounding box placed behind the object to define the repeat, instead of cropping the object for the brush, it overlaps it. Here is an example:
When I do this in CS5- the bounding box works fine and crops out the space outside. Was there an update in CS6?
i`m looking on my hardrive for the original seamless tile I used to create a pattern style but cannot figure out how to find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've used the Fill>Pattern to tile my seamless patterns tons of times and never had this issue. Suddenly , it started making each tile on the large canvas a different color when I apply Fill>Pattern. At first I thought it was a tip or guide to see the repeat edges , but it shows up in print preview too. What did I do and how do I correct it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe struggle a bit creating a seamless repeating pattern that includes embedded images with clipping masks applied. Our pattern is a 550x550mm black square with various embedded inserted on top. All of these images have Clipping Masks applied to hide unwanted areas. These images are placed so they create a seamless repeating pattern and this includes areas that overlap the square.Once we create a swatch from this pattern the repeatable area becomes too big as it includes the unwanted areas hidden by the clipping masks.Because the repeatable area is now too big it's actually not repeatable.
Pathfinder/crop to delete the unwanted areas in the images etc.We though of just live tracing the images, but due to the complexity this is not an option.Do we really have to do our "cutting" in Photoshop .
I need to create a hatch pattern for a flooring tile that we have currently starting using and I am having real issues getting it to work!! The pattern is meant to be tiles set in a brick type style but with a rolling offset, but the tiles are different sizes - I have one row of 300x600, then a second row of 148 x 600, then another row of 300x600, then another 300x600, then a row of 148x 600, followed by another 148x600. This is the pattern end and needs to repeat itself. I have attached a line drawing of what it needs to look like.
I can get a very basic line drawing showing 300mm and 148mm for the first two lines but then it all goes wrong!
I have a 512x512 pattern I need to fill a 2560x2560 area that should go 5x5...
Do I have to paste it manually, or is there a way to get the pattern fill to actually tile properly? It's not.
Using V2.8.2
where I might get a free or cheap plugin for making seamless textures?
I need this plugin for the PS CS2 for Mac.
I'm trying to make a repeat pattern tile (using CS5 on Windows 7), but when I crop the pattern, the expanded paths underneath become visible as on the flowers. This is what I did after creating the artwork:
Used the rectangle tool to make a box with fill/stroke directly on top of the artboard.. Select all > Expand (selecting stroke only, not fill) Deselect the cropping box and grouped the remaining objects. Reselected the cropping box and grouped all objects Pathfinder > Crop I'm guessing it may have something to do with the fact I used a gradient on the flowers but how to resolve it.
can anyone point me to any tutorials as in regards to creating seemless patterns using photoshop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do something very simple in PS CS6 that's proving to be, well, not so simple (for me at least). All I want to do is animate a layer in a clockwise direction and end up with a seamless looping animated gif. I discovered rotation can't even be animated unless you convert the layer to a smart object, first of all (and by accident. And the "Motion" function doesn't seem to work much at all, where there is a "Rotate" option.).
And of course simply copy-pasting the first key frame in the timeline to the end of the timeline just makes the layer rotate clockwise, then counter clockwise back to it's original position.
Many years ago I had a program called Fractal Design Painter. (I don't think the program exists anymore) Anyhow, it allowed you to make an image that would tile seamlessly - every time your brush went off the canvas, it would appear on the canvas in another place and continue to paint. When you tiled the image, the seams would not show. Does anyone know if Photoshop can do this, and if so, how?
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to make 45 degree angle lines that I want to embed into my background. Well thats easy enough. But I need to make them so that they are seamless so that if a browser window is 600 or 6000 wide the lines will still fill the whole page on the background colour.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using the Artlandia Symmetry Works for AI and am very pleased with the ways it can be tweaked and set up. I am now looking for a similar plug-in for Photoshop, that would allow me to create repetitive patterns, seamless textures etc. It should allow a variety of settings, possibilities to repeat/rotate/mirror the original picture in order to create a pattern for eg. fabrics or fashion design.

I have a bitmap image of a map and I would like to split this image up into many tiles which can be saved off as seperate images. if possible I would also like to be able to specify the size and resolution of these tiles.

I want to make it repeatable only in the y axis like the map/make seamless but just in one direction.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop 6.0 and all I want to learn right now is how do I take an image and make a tiled background with it? Please answer in the easiest way possible, I have trouble even finding the tools in photoshop. I can use Picture it and tile very slowly myself piece by piece, but I am sure that there is a simple way to push a button and have it done for me with photoshop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I want to do is take a design and automatically filter it to divide it into four parts that are moved into the corners of the image for tiling, like the Make Seamless feature. But I don't want any image-changing effects other than that, like gradients, which can't be turned off when using Make Seamless. What can I do?
If I have to do it manually, how do I do this? I can't seem to understand how to use the grid or ruler to find the exact center or divide the image into four equal parts.
i have used batch process to make a whole bunch of photos one size. I need to create a single 'photo wall' jpg out of them in which they're all tiled, the long way of doing this is to obv open them all and copy, paste into the psd, then flatten, but thats really, really time consuming. If photoshop had any type of auto import & tile feature? I may have to do this a 2nd time with 1000's of images.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes Photoshop have the ability to preview a texture that will be tiled?
For Example:
I am modifying a brick picture I took to use in SketchUp and want it to tile seamlessly. I can keep going back and modifying, then placing it in SketchUp, modify more, place it... until I get it right. However it would be nice to be able to see it in Photoshop.
the final image is in flash, but this effect was pasted from 19 different images rendered by some kind of "tile flip" effect in Photoshop.
