I just put up a video page for my school. It's not really targeted at the public yet. It's main for our school and church - Homework, assignments, previews, etc. But it's been fun learning with it and expiramenting. I did it all my self too, even took the pictures in the gallery (which needs expanding).
I am not talking about the fancy 3-d apps that create these awesome metallic-loking 3 -d images,like this: I I'm talking about linear art, flat and 2-d, like the old school comic books like Superman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Woman. That's what I am looking to do: I know there was some plug in that let you do them just like that, (after you typed in the name, you selected the letters and with some app, you manipulated them to look like old-school comic book lettering...)( I remember creating them old-school titles myself) with no fancy gradations, shines or bevels, it was just the lettering, and the effect of the 3dish thing...anyone knows what the plug in is, or if anything like that can be done with either Illustrator Cs4 or Photoshop Cs4? This is an example of what I did myself: But that was years ago when I had Illustrator 10, and after a long time with no acces to the net or computers, I'm back in the swing of things, but I can't remember the name of the program or plug in that allowed you to do those imges!
I need to make an 11x14 composite page for a school. I am shooting photos of all of the students and they want an 11x14 with the school name and all of the students faces in ovals . I would need about 200 ovals, one for each student.
I have got a job to take school pictures where I will offer 3 portrait shots and 2 class shots for selection and I am looking for an easy way to add contact thumbnails onto a sheet that also contains a price list and order form as well as other details etc.
I have around 350 of these to do and have made up a sheet that contains all the other details as a PDF and as a In Design Master sheet and as a jpg file.
I am predominately a photographer and know little InDesign except what I have taught myself but not much. How to automate it and save me a whole load of time?
For my school project, I've been assigned to update the school maps. I use AutoCAD 2012, but I also have Revit and Inventor on my school computer. The problem that I am having is that the maps I were given are in 2D (they're basically blueprints of each floor). My teacher wants me to make it more modern-looking, meaning he wants me to be able to show depth and make the map more 3D. If you're not sure what I mean, he wants me to make it look something like this [URL]....... except that it would be for one school building, and the room numbers and names have to be visible for all three floors.
Having learned only basic knowledge of CAD and Revit, I am stuck on how to create the "layered" school map. Is there any way to do it on CAD, or should I use another program? Can I use the current 2D blueprints, or do I need to create a new set of diagrams? (the 2D blueprints look like [URL].......
I am building a highlight video for my son who is a wrestler. I had the idea at the beginning to zoom in on one of his sr pics towards his eye. I want a the video to start in his eye but as zooming is complete it will end up full page video.
I am trying to create a page in Adobe Edge that loads a video without any controls (play, slider bar, volume, full screen) and then displays a replay button after the video finishes which will start it from the beginning.  Currently I am able to load the video file and have it play to the end and stop, but I can't seem to get a replay button working. I also can't find a way to disable controls on the video so they do not show.  Here is the code I am using to load the video:

As you can see, I tried a few ways of disabling the controls, and I also tried adding the replay function to the button itself, but neither of those worked. controlling the video control display and replay function in Adobe Edge would be very useful.
Is there a way to use iLogic to replicate the old-school method of replacing drawing references? (ie, where you'd temporarily rename the originally referenced file, open the drawing, and then point it to the new file after Inventor says it can't find the original)
Longer version:
I have an iLogic configurator that manipulates skeletal models, copies them out as new files, and swaps them into template drawings. The original skeletal model can be configured in several different ways (different features, surfaces, etc), so I have several template drawings set up for each model depending on the configuration.
The problem that I'm encountering involves the order in which the drawing is loaded and then has its references replaced. When first opened, the drawing loads the original skeletal model which doesn't have all the geometry of the "new" model for which the particular template drawing was intended. This makes most of my section and detail view constraints go belly-up. After subsequently replacing the model references with the "new" model with the correct geometry, the section and detail view constraints fail to resolve themselves, and my once-perfect detail drawing is ruined.
If I instead force the drawing to open with the new model from the git-go (via the workaround discussed above), everything loads perfectly. However, I haven't yet found a way to handle this automatically with iLogic.

I have found loads of tutorials showing how to do this with a normal single tone page but I am having trouble getting the curl to work well on the bottom right hand corner with the texture and also the torn edge. I have tried distorting it but it just goes all blurred.
Is there a way to remove the *Model* page setup entry from the list of Page Setups in the Page Setup Manager? This is the first time I am seeing *Model* in the list, and I suspect that it the reason I am not able to generate a PDF for this particular drawing. When I try, I get the following error:

I have this idea that removing *Model* from the list will do it. In addition to causing PDF creation failure, I believe it is also responsible for forcing the Model to always be in the Publish list, even though I have unchecked the "Include model when adding sheets" option. I can remove it from that list manually, but it comes back every time.
I quite often need a separate ruler scale on each page of a multi-page document. The only way I know how to do this is to create a separate document for each drawing that requires a new scale.
I request that you add the ability to change the ruler scale on a per page basis within a single multi-page document.
Several times a week I need to take a PDF (single-page doc), then convertto a page-sized PNG with quality good enough to read the text (and atransparent border), and then convert to a SWF. I have a PNG-to-SWFutility, but when I used it on the PNG saved after I opened my PDF andexported from GIMP, the end result was not good enough. A co-worker saidGIMP couldn't make a PNG (w/transparency) with enough quality. He said we'dhave to use some other software. Part of the issue was not being able toresize without losing quality before the PNG export. True or false?
After moving a page in my document the master page elements no longer display on screen or in print. If I move the page to a different location in the document the master displays but if it is in the specific position that it needs to be it will not display. The document has multiple Masters and others do work on the page but the one that I need will not. I've tried deleting the page and adding a new one and that does not fix the problem. I've checked and "Hide Master Items" is not checked. The page in question is in position 48 with F-Master applied. If I move it to position 49 it works, 50, it works, 51, or any other it works. If I apply a different master to the page, it works. If I delete the page, add a new page and apply F-Master it still does not work. The only page that this problem is happening on is page 48.
Trying to set up a datamerge file to create multi page spread documents with fields on different pages. Attempting to set it up so it's as automated as possible as there are up to 20 different merge documents needing to merge with up to 100 different csv records from the same file each week . The merge documents have different and repeated merge fields on most pages.  I've set it up so that the document has facing pages, and most pages have images spread across the whole of the spread. the pages preview fine, they are created ok when using 'Create Merged Document' although the page numbers continue from one document to another (another problem). but when I come to export to pdf, then the merge only shows the image on the left spread but on both left and right spread single pages, and the page numbers don't show the correct page numbers eg it will go p1 p2 p1 p2 etc all the way through the document instead of p1 p2 p3 - p20 etc. I don't want to have to merge first then pdf but can't understand why the images and page numbers are not showing correctly.Â
If it's a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn't caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn't matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
However, if I select artistic text and any other object, copy and paste to a new sheet, it works erectly. Apparently, I now have to select text and an object to insure that the paste feature works properly?
I am guessing this will be a no but is there a way to change page setup for more than 1 page at a time? Â I have multiple pages in a drawing that I want to change to all the same page setup.
how to get the page count of a multi page PDF file? I know you can then open each page using the PDFFileOptions (pagetoopen). But I need to know up front how many pages there are to loop thru to open each page and process each page.
Indesign CS6: I've years of extensive experience using Master Pages. Now, however, when I insert a single page in a facing page document, the headers shift off the page. I've tried everything I can think of to stop this. I'm not using liquid layout or any of those layout things. Â This is very problematic as I do textbooks with hundreds of graphics and I either have to manually move all the master page items on every page after an insertion; or I have to shift all graphics manually to the next page after moving those to the next page, and the next, and so on. Â I'm praying this is just a "hey, you must have X set to X and by deselecting it you'll be fine."Â
In the past two days, two-page PDFs that I save out of CS6 are printing with the second page upside down. I have tried resaving the documents—didn't work. Tried saving the documents as individual PDFs and combining the PDFs in Acrobat—didn't work. I have had my colleagues print them, and the second page is upside-down too. When I print two-page PDFs that I saved last week or longer ago, I have no problem at all. It just seems to be happening with recently saved PDFs. I didn't update any software on my computer between saving the PDFs that are printing correctly and when this problem began.
Does Xara Designer support the ability to change one object on for example page 1, and that the change propagates to all the same objects on all other pages? I'm doing a lot of web design work, so this would be quite handy, but I haven't found a way to do that.
A little + sign appears at the bottom right corner of a text cell when the text overflows. I find I cannot pick up the additional text by clicking the + sign to place it on the next text cell thus linking text from page to page. Am I missing something or is such a useful facility unavailable in Lightroom? If that's the case, is there a good reason for Lightroom not offering text linking between pages?
Video will not play properly [audio plays well video hangs ] in Adobe Photoshop CS6 running on a Win7-64 machine equipment with a quad-core processor. Video plays properly in Lightroom 4 and Bridge CS6.
I recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.

I am trying to "erase" extra video and show only 1 of the moving objects in the video .on an athletic field we are trying to show only the movements of 1 player...is it possible to "delete all of the other players movements and just show one player and then overlay that video on the empty field?
when I upload a video to You Tube, I get a warning message that my video and audio are out of synch. Once uploaded, the video plays just fine, looks great. But I don't know why I get the warning when I upload. Video clip and audio track are the same length.
