View 8 RepliesI'm having trouble printing an image that's longer than 11 inches. I have a Canon i560 printer, and use either PS 7 or PS CS.
I want to print an image that's 6 x 16 inches, using 13x19" paper that I've cut in half the long way. I specified Custom (for size), and got approximately the correct width, but it stops printing after 11 inches. I also tried printing a JPG version of the image using WindowsXP print utility, and it allowed me to specify a custom size, but it also stops printing after 11 inches in length.
When I print in Photoshop CS5 on roll paper, there is a faint grey border that prints all around my image. I haven't created a grey border in my files.
what setting is creating this or what's going on? And how i can stop it?
How do you set up a document to print 4 up on a 8.5x11 page. It is a pdf file created to print on a 11x17 page. I am using XP Pro.

At the moment the roll cuts off at 841mm in length when set to A1. How do you configure it to use more length of the roll so it doesn't cut off the drawing?
I have created a pressure network using 8-inch diameter pipes. How would I change the 8-inch pipes to 6-inch pipes without having to recreate the network.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSomeone would like a small 1 inch by 1 inch logo for invoices at 600 DPI. However I understand that illustrator doesnt work in DPI or PPI since it's vector. Would I have to transfer the small image over to photoshop. I did try and save a 1 inch by 1 inch logo at 600 PPI, however when I saved the image it was no longer 1 inch by 1 inch. It had increased significantly in size regardless of what file format I saved the image as.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIf I try to draw a square box in any size, illustator does not make it square.
For example, if I select the Rectangle Tool, click in the art space and set the rectangle to one inch by one inch, I get a box that is 1.0003 by 1.0003
Here is a screen shot of what I am getting.
This is also happening to any rectangle and circle.
Even if I hold down shift to keep the preportions lock, it still happens.
I have check and nothing is snapping or set to snap.
This is a major issue for me as I use illustator for creating dielines and those dielines need to be very accurate.
I want to roll a image to it's horizontal axis like rolling a paper
I dont have any link to express it completly but,
like paper curl in corel (certainly it does not make it complete roll).
but how to make it a complete roll(on horizontal axis not on inclined axis) so that it looks like a rolled paper.
when I roll over the pic, it didn't change to its original?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI created some roll-overs in individual Photoshop and Image Ready documents... they work fine as individual photoshop files in Image Ready. However, when I try to move/copy them into a new Photoshop/ImageReady document they do not work.
How can I move/copy them into another Photoshop/Image Ready document so that they still work... to then later save as HTML and move as a web page...

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhile i was outside my dad opened a jpg.. and the inches seemed LARGER ..
so i zoomed in the same %.. and it wasnt pixelated.. there were More pixels in the inch.. so i pasted something from my previous work.. and Indeed. it was SMALLER.. so i had to redo the whole thing.. it was bigger work.. but the print was very improved.. my question is.. how can you control how many pixels are in an inch.. if you can at all.. and if you cant how do you explain
what happened..
I had an 11x14 document set at 175 pix/in. When printed the document was huge (probably 75% too big, maybe more). I was thinking maybe there can only be so many pixels per inch, and because I had it set too high, the dimensions of the doc. were distorted. Anyone know if there is such a magick number?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a 3 year old imac with CS3 installed, which has failed. I have bought a brand new imac 27", but I was told in the store that this machine is too new to use CS3!
Is it the OS thats too new or the hardware? I'm happy to downgrade my ios to snow leopard or something like that.
It only happens after Photoshop CS6 (fully updated i Mac and CS6 - see below image for specs) has been running for awhile. The screen, in dark areas of the display, will have screen flicker like stars twinkling on a night sky. Then the display will completely go black and then back on about every 5 seconds. The only way I can make it stop is to power the i Mac off and then start it back up. Then it's fine until the next time I start Photoshop.
It doesn't do it immediately when Photoshop starts. It's usually about 30 - 60 minutes after I've started it. Also if I open Photoshop and use it and then shut it down I don't have any issues...only after it has been running for a while.
I have a 7.2 MP digital camera. When I upload the images to Photoshop, they show up as 72 pixels/inch by default. How can I have them at 300 pixels/inch? I bought the camera, so I could start doing posters.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt happens both by dragging the file into the icon, AND opening up with control click, so i am getting this tiny window.
Of course I can enlarge by numerous command +, or magnify tool, but the idea would be to be able to open it up at a reasonable size.
The worst is when by enlarging, sometimes it turns into a rectangulAR stripe, and I have to enlarge it by pulling the bottom corner.
This happened in the past with different computers and different OS< so the fact that I have the latest Lion is not part of the issue, I hope.
I posted this in the past, unsuccesfully,
I would like to purchase a Wacom Intuos 5 touch to do image retouching and processing, but I have it difficult to choose the size, medium or large.

How to avoid having to do this? I either want to see one or the other, sometimes being able to see both simultaneously would be nice. While dragging out Rectangular Marquees, doing Transforms, etc.
Just accessing the "camera roll" folder crashes VS X5. I have to copy every video I want to edit from that folder to somewhere else in order to edit them. FLAT OUT LOCKS UP AND CRASHES if I access the Camera Roll folder in VS X5 in Windows 8.1.
Crossfade is extremely buggy, it leaves pops and sometimes even cuts out the sound completely if one is using a crossfade on a video that has the sound already on it. I usually end up having to record the output of the audio from VS X5 through "stereo mix" with Audacity, save it as a wav, and then mix it into the video again later while muting the original video.
Crossfades are extremely glitchy in general when using AVCHD, the only high quality format that doesn't degrade the sound to oblivion.
Saving as an HD MP4 results in such bad sound degradation that it's almost not usable if it contains music, everything above 12k is pretty much completely hosed.
Thumbnails will randomly unlink themselves, and when you try to re-link them, even though they're there, it doesn't know how to get the name, so you either have to type it in again or select it from the list.
Are these things fixed in X6?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have several drawings and which have different scales (1:50, 1:20 and 1:10) all in one dwg file. I made different .ctb files for each of them to make easier to interchange drawings between two different scales. But now I'm plotting each of them onto seperated rolls. I wonder if there is a way to plot all of them onto just one roll?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to make a roll of tape in Inventor, but I'm not too familiar with/used to the program. It's the small invisible adhesive tape, like the kind you'd find in office. So far, I sketched and extruded the plastic part the tape gets wrapped around, which is basically just a small tube. I also have a rectangle that's really long for the actual tape part, and that's extruded but very thin. they're both made as standard.ipt files. I opened a standard.iam file to put them together using constraints, but I'm not exactly sure how. I have the edge of the rectangle on the outside of the circle, so I just have to wrap it around. I'm assuming I just bend the rectangle (tape) around the circle (plastic part), but I don't know how to do that.
