View 7 Replies View RelatedSomeone would like a small 1 inch by 1 inch logo for invoices at 600 DPI. However I understand that illustrator doesnt work in DPI or PPI since it's vector. Would I have to transfer the small image over to photoshop. I did try and save a 1 inch by 1 inch logo at 600 PPI, however when I saved the image it was no longer 1 inch by 1 inch. It had increased significantly in size regardless of what file format I saved the image as.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIf I try to draw a square box in any size, illustator does not make it square.
For example, if I select the Rectangle Tool, click in the art space and set the rectangle to one inch by one inch, I get a box that is 1.0003 by 1.0003
Here is a screen shot of what I am getting.
This is also happening to any rectangle and circle.
Even if I hold down shift to keep the preportions lock, it still happens.
I have check and nothing is snapping or set to snap.
This is a major issue for me as I use illustator for creating dielines and those dielines need to be very accurate.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a fully completed drawing that is in 'architectural' (inches) and I would like to be able to change all of the 'feet & inches' linear dimensions (which form part of the drawing when the layer is turned on) to solely 'mm' instead.
The UNITS command keeps coming to mind, but I know that's not how to go about it. I've Googled for like 45 mins and read some highly overcomplicated instructions that lost me.
(note I am posting this in the beginners section )
simplified way to change this either via a command or changing settings via the toolbar?
I found one motorycle drawing, but there is all dimensions in INCH. How can i change from INCH to centimeter to do this sketch in centimeter. I am never done this before, and I don't know.
If I change dimension in documents (Inventor) to draw in INCH, I cant put there like 3/15 and some little numbers.
how to make changes from INCH to centimeter and to do drawing in Centimeter.
I have a form with some textbox on it, which should be filled in with imperial dimension. Like foot and inch. Users right now complain about it is not user friendly ,to put data in form, and honestly they are right. I didn't a good job .
Some people like to put vetting in inch and then by the time textbox lost it focus it should automatically convert data to feet-inch format. Some other user like to put decimal I have to be able to should them in 1/8 inch.
some user like to use space as separator between foot and inch and some other like to use dash.
Bottom line I stocked. Is there any function for this in autocad ?
when I look at my code I just struggled with pure string. I thought maybe there is something in autocad which give developer this option. Like the way we input dimension in command prompt.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this has been addressed in these hollowed posts but a search didn't turn it up. I have a dimstyle with primary units format set to "Fractional" and would like the inch (") marks to come in. I know i can add the inch mark as the suffix, but is there a better way? Archetectural and Engineering formats both include the inch marks and this makes sense to me. But if "fractional" format is not inches, then what would it be?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI think that our file has been corrupted. We tried to adjust the elevation of a 6-inch sewer pipe in the profile and then the display of the pipe went up to a 12-inch, even though the pipe properties still show it as a 6. All the other pipe sizes seem to be working, though we did have a similar problem with 4-inch pipe the day before and fixed it with an audit. Audit does not fix this problem. It seems to apply to all six inch pipes.
The file was created in Civil 3D 2007. We are now using C3D 2012 with SP1. My machine is 64-bit but the other person working in the file has 32-bit.
I have attached the file and the pipe in question is in the sewer network and is named SP B 11.
Is there any hope for this file? Of course this is right as we are trying to meet a deadline.
PS I tried to add the file but was size restricted, then I trimmed the file down to under 1.5 MB and was still size restricted.

I'm having trouble printing an image that's longer than 11 inches. I have a Canon i560 printer, and use either PS 7 or PS CS.
I want to print an image that's 6 x 16 inches, using 13x19" paper that I've cut in half the long way. I specified Custom (for size), and got approximately the correct width, but it stops printing after 11 inches. I also tried printing a JPG version of the image using WindowsXP print utility, and it allowed me to specify a custom size, but it also stops printing after 11 inches in length.
I had an 11x14 document set at 175 pix/in. When printed the document was huge (probably 75% too big, maybe more). I was thinking maybe there can only be so many pixels per inch, and because I had it set too high, the dimensions of the doc. were distorted. Anyone know if there is such a magick number?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a 3 year old imac with CS3 installed, which has failed. I have bought a brand new imac 27", but I was told in the store that this machine is too new to use CS3!
Is it the OS thats too new or the hardware? I'm happy to downgrade my ios to snow leopard or something like that.
It only happens after Photoshop CS6 (fully updated i Mac and CS6 - see below image for specs) has been running for awhile. The screen, in dark areas of the display, will have screen flicker like stars twinkling on a night sky. Then the display will completely go black and then back on about every 5 seconds. The only way I can make it stop is to power the i Mac off and then start it back up. Then it's fine until the next time I start Photoshop.
It doesn't do it immediately when Photoshop starts. It's usually about 30 - 60 minutes after I've started it. Also if I open Photoshop and use it and then shut it down I don't have any issues...only after it has been running for a while.

Does this mean that CS6 export is worse that it was in CS5?
I cannot set it to .0001 inch, when I do, it automatically changes it to .0002 inch. I've been able to have a nudge factor of .0001 inch since I can remember.
The two images I'm including show my .0001 being typed, then when I switch fields it shows it going to .0002, why won't it stay on .0001 inch?
I printed (2) 7x5 Prints using template browser. The top print is getting clipped about a quarter inch.
In the top left-hand corner both horizontal boxes are stating that the size is 7x5. I have double checked all the settings. Using a Epson 4900 printer sent to US letter, the only thing that is checked is zoon to fit, rotate to fit and show guides. am I doing something wrong or is this a program error that needs to be addressed?
