View 1 RepliesI have set up a dimension style in vb .net, I am having rouble setting the suffix and the linear precision? Here is what I currently have:
Dim acDimStyleTbl As DimStyleTable
acDimStyleTbl = acTrans.GetObject(acCurDb.DimStyleTableId, _ OpenMode.ForRead)
Dim sDimStyleName As String = "test"
Dim acDimStyleTblRec As DimStyleTableRecord = New DimStyleTableRecord()
[code]....
I need to add a single quotation mark for the suffix ( " ie: inches ) and I want the precision at '.00'.
How can I set dimensions to not show inch tick by default just the number?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSomeone would like a small 1 inch by 1 inch logo for invoices at 600 DPI. However I understand that illustrator doesnt work in DPI or PPI since it's vector. Would I have to transfer the small image over to photoshop. I did try and save a 1 inch by 1 inch logo at 600 PPI, however when I saved the image it was no longer 1 inch by 1 inch. It had increased significantly in size regardless of what file format I saved the image as.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIf I try to draw a square box in any size, illustator does not make it square.
For example, if I select the Rectangle Tool, click in the art space and set the rectangle to one inch by one inch, I get a box that is 1.0003 by 1.0003
Here is a screen shot of what I am getting.
This is also happening to any rectangle and circle.
Even if I hold down shift to keep the preportions lock, it still happens.
I have check and nothing is snapping or set to snap.
This is a major issue for me as I use illustator for creating dielines and those dielines need to be very accurate.
I found one motorycle drawing, but there is all dimensions in INCH. How can i change from INCH to centimeter to do this sketch in centimeter. I am never done this before, and I don't know.
If I change dimension in documents (Inventor) to draw in INCH, I cant put there like 3/15 and some little numbers.
how to make changes from INCH to centimeter and to do drawing in Centimeter.
I have a blue rod. How can i change the last inch on each end to a different color such as red ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have changed my settings in all of my templates to metric. I create a new assembly, add the part (yes, it is set to metric), I now create my first new part in the assembly. When I start to sketch it changes back to inch. How do I set it so it stays metric? View 4 Replies View RelatedPattern component is great but sometimes I have to pattern the same part several times to different dimensions in the same direction. For example: I have a part that has to go the left 26', then again at 29" and then again at 37". Other than manuallly constraining this 3 different times I've had to Pattern Component the first one at 26", then change the 2nd one to Independent. Then Pattern component that one to the 29" dimension. Change that 2nd one to Independent and pattern component that one to 37". It saves a lot of time but if I have to increase the model they are going on I have to start all over. Is there a command or something that will do this? I understand that a pattern is equal lenghs so maybe I am looking at the wrong command for what I am needing to do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to change the line spacing for fonts in IV2010?
Reason I ask is b/c I had to change fonts from RomanS to RomanD, b/c the former font wouldn't print clearly enough for the shop and customer to read it (both in pdf and dwg/dxf).
The problem is, RomanD has DOUBLE SPACING as default, instead of the usual single spacing. I can't get the "Styles" editor to change the spacing in the VIEW LABELS and WELD SYMBOLS.
I'm trying to migrate from AutoCAD into Inventor while maintaining my companies standards - and I need to change the way section marks show.
Is there a way to create a custom section mark routine (in AutoCAD it was a LISP routine) to make section marks as shown in the attached picture?
In the AutoCAD version, it took 3 clicks, and then prompted for text inputs - 1st was the end of the line with the circle, 2nd was the other end of the line, and 3rd was the direction of the section. Then there are 2 text prompts - first the section label, then the sheet humber.
Is this possible to do in Inventor? I figured out how to make the circles with prompted text but can't figure out how to make the lines and arrows to go with it without being fixed length and position.
When I bring in a custom content center part or extrude a part I make, I always like to type it as LENGTH=24, thereby creating a parameter called length (instead of d0 or whatever it wants to call it). I then mark it as "export" manually so it shows up in my "custom parameters" tab on my iProperties. I do stuff with that exported parameter in my drawings. Is there a way to make it automatically export?
Or another approach, if I do LENGTH=24, is there an AUTOMATIC way (iLogic, etc) to make a new custom property, also called "LENGTH" that equals the LENGTH parameter?
what the command for Dim Suffix? I wanted to add "m" in my dimension text but i need the command because i am using it for a script file.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis happened in the middle of dimensioning A drawing. Was adding tolerance and some text to some dimensions which usually looks like this.
1.500±.001" Turn Runner
But all of a sudden it started to look like this.
1.500" Turn Runner±.001" Turn Runner
Everything in the dim suffix field is repeated twice and I don't know why.
No variables were changed...I literally did one dimension that came out normally and the next one did this.
Now all dimensions do this. There is a single dimstyle with no daughter styles.
I have created a model on autocad which I have imported into autodesk inventor publisher...for my project I have to simulate an object's assembly and subsequent dissassembly. But to begin with my model is assembled so i have exploded it and now I want to put it back together - however I can't get the program to remember the position each component was originally in so when i try and move each component back it's all over the place and looks awful. Is there a way to mark an object's intial location so that i can move it back to exactly that place?
View 4 Replies View RelatedInventor does not think an update is required for iAssembly members after changes to attributes on a client feature are saved. In our workflow we avoid rebuild all because it causes subassemblies to change, so we force an update by changing a parameter. Through the API is there a good way to indicate that our change was significant enough for members to need updating?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble displaying the units for dimensions. The issue is with the suffix.
When I add the " suffix to indicate inches autocad also adds the suffix to the angular dimension.
2 questions...
Is there a way to suppress the suffix for angular dimensions? Do I need to have a dimension style just for angular dimension?
I do not want to dimension in architectural because I don't want the dimensions to change to feet and inches.
In the dimension styles we have linear suffix and angular suffix. For angular dimensions we just want the degree symbol and for the Linear suffix we want the foot symbol. But when we dimension an angle we get both degree and a foot symbol, and we just want the degree symbol. We put the foot symbol on the linear units only yet it shows up on the angular dimensions.
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhy my dimstyle appears different when I use different versions of AutoCAD.
In LT it is correct (left hand image), both styles are STANDARD font but in the full version (right hand image) the suffix text style is ROMANS.
I am using a dimension style that annoyingly adds the number "1/8" at the end of every angular dimension. Linear dimensions are fine.
I already checked and there is no suffix specified in the style. I also tried the dim/up feature, but the "1/8" still appears.
Degrees in "Units" are set to decimal. They are also set in decimal within the dimstyle.
Just to clarify, the number "1/8" is added after the actual dimension. I drew a 90 deg rectangle and the dim shows 90 1/8.
I could certainly try to create a new dimstyle from scrap, but perhaps any better tip.
i need to mark all of my dimensions with a balloon number or make a PPAP "bubble" print. i only know how to use balloon dimensioning for Sub Assy's.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a lisp routine or rename mulitple blocks by keeping the same name, but adding a suffix to it.
I have used "rename" block to add a prefix to multiple drawings, but it doesnt let you add a suffix. (As far as I can see)
I currently have a LISP routine that will replace the value of a specific attribute name with sequential numbers in the order that the blocks are selected. Like TCOUNT for attributes - and it only looks for a specific attribute Tag Name called "ID".
However, what I want it to do now, instead of just putting the number into the attribute value, I want the number to be a suffix to the existing default tag value of the tag named "ID" which is "ADDRESS:" for some blocks and "ELEVATION:" for other blocks but the tag name that the routine always has to filter for is "ID". That way the user can pick anywhere on the block - not being forced to pick the tag we want to add numbers to.
What I need the new LISP to do is append a space and then a number to the existing tag value in the block, so that the result would look like "ADDRESS: 1", "ADDRESS: 2", "ADDRESS 3" or "ELEVATION: 1", ELEVATION: 2", etc. depending on whatever the default value for the tag "ID" is.
there are several hundred different block names - but they all have a Tag Name of "ID" - whose default value is sometimes "ADDRESS:" and sometimes "ELEVATION:".
I have very little knowledge in complex Autolist routines and routine to do the following:
I would like to be able to provide a Prefix and/or Suffix via dialog then pick any line of text or multiple lines of text and have it concentrate. For example: Prefix: First Floor Suffix: M100. I pick the room text on an arch floor plan "Mechanical room" and the second line "100" The result will be "First Floor Mechanical room 100 M100".
But lets take it a final step further; once condensed, I want it added to a perticular tag attribute in a block I inserted.
Example of how I would use it. I insert a symbol for an addressable smoke detector that has several tags; one of them being Location. I would use this routine to gather the information provided by the Arch floor plan and join it with the block attribute for exporting later for use in the Fire Alarm Panel Programming.
attached is a sample block with the attributes.
How could I disable suffix of units, it is distracting little bit.
Mine looks like this
I want it to look like this
I need to find a way how to insert a point or a * on the center point of a hole and put it on a different layer. The reason for this is - I am a CAD tech for a welding shop and we cut parts out of steel and we use the dxf file format for our plasma table to cut parts. For example : if i have a 1 inch thick plate and want to put a 3/4'' hole in the plate the hole will be distorted because the hole is smaller than the material thickness. For these situation we can use the plasma table to burn a point or a dot on the center point of the hole. But to do this the point or dot must be on a different layer in the dxf.
