View 1 RepliesPhotoshop dock icon disappeared since the Retina update? Just to be clear, it hasn't just removed itself from the Dock. There's an empty space and when moused over it says Adobe Photoshop CS6 but it's just a blank space. The icon is missing from the Applications folder too.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm writing because after reinstall the Mountain Lion (10.8.4), I realized that dragging an image from Chrome (29.0. 1547. 62) to the dock icon Photoshop CS6 the icon is not active and therefore the program does not open with the image, I tried with firefox (23.0.1) and the dock icon photoshop is animated and open photoshop but show the following message "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." I tried with SAFARI and all fine, without problems. I note that before reinstallation and after doing a clean install (I do a back up, I formated the hard drive and install the mountain lion) this option worked perfect.
Â
I check the following path ~ / Library / Caches / TemporaryItems that is where store the pictures as you take the browser and when stored in the folder but never open photoshop, I want to emphasize that opening photoshop and open a blank canvas, I can drag and drop (drag and drop) and the image appears, but with the dock icon anymore.
Â
I have many theories but also not solve:
Â
1. It's a permissions problem.
2. Any option is not enabled (OS X or photoshop) or not installed
3. Some kind of incompatibility, but again and worked without problems.
I have replaced the icon on the dock and run disk utilites I still can not drag a file on to the icon on the dock to open it, any other suggstions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
Â
Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects and then it listed a preset ( blur) and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
Â
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
Â
I cant open my AE(after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that?  can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?will adobe make me download the newer CC version?I don't want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6.
When I loaded some photo actions into my new PSE11 it show only a generic icon in the effects palette, not the icon from the maker so it takes extra time to search for the action I need. How can I get the icon from the maker to show as the icon in the palette?

View 9 Replies View RelatedHaving just successfully installed Photoshop CS4 for Windows (XP-SP3), I was arranging my worksapce. When I tried to move the options bar from the top of the screen and dock it at the bottom (as I have always done in CS3) I find that I cannot. Has the ability to dock the options bar at the bottom of the screen been removed..? If not, how does one accomplish this..?

It will launch the program if it is not open but it will not actually open the file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Photoshop CS6 x64 on a Lenovo T510 running Windows 7 x64.
Â
My Lenovo T510 laptop will automatically switch from Intel HD Graphics adapter (CS6 reports The Intel HD graphics card doesn't work with CS6's "Use Graphics Processor") when undocked to NVidia graphics adapter (CS6 reports as NVS 3100M/PCIe/SSE2) when docked. See [URL]
Â
Unfortunately, this means that undocking with CS6's default settings will hang Photoshop.exe with 100% of one CPU core. Photoshop recovers again after the PC is docked and the NVidia graphics adapter is enabled again.
Â
When I turn off CS6's hardware acceleration, the problem goes away.
Â
Updates says I have the latest Photoshop CS6 installed.
Â
It's brand-new install and I haven't changed any settings since installation.
Â
This seems like a bug in Photoshop: PS should be smart enough to realize that the graphics card has changed instead of hanging the CPU.
I could do this in earlier versions, but it doesn't seem to work in Photoshop CS-6. How do U reposition a floating dock in CS6 so it is anchored to the upper right edge of the window?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI accidently changed the color of the background outside of my docked image from grey to black and can not figure out how to reset it to the default grey. The workspace dock color is grey until I dock an image and then the color surrounding my image changes to black. This is occuring in the Full Edit Mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just loaded Gimp 2.8 from 'ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp' with the idea of using the 'all-in-one' new arrangement. I am using Mint 13 Maya and the new gimp interface is not yet in the repository.
That said, having opened the 'new' gimp I see the docks arrangement is a bit different. Whereas there used to be two docks one on either side of the drawing area, now the right hand dock is split screen.
The problem is that just for say the colour wheel it uses loads of screen space. I know I can toggle between 'all-in-one' and multi-mode but they both have a split screen for the docks on the right.
I don't see any obvious way to move the colour wheel dock back to where it has been under the toolbox and brushes docks.
Maybe this is a fixed arrangement in 2.8, if so I will have to go back to my Mint 13 native version.
Is there a way to have the new NEX tools window undocked when starting up Maya? I can undock it after Maya 2014 starts. But I'd like to have it this way on launch. Currently it reverts back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy command bar will not dock down at the bottom like the old style autocad (I don't care for the new semi transparent deal as its always in the way). I can dock the command bar but the next time I open the drawing or autocad for that matter it is back floating again?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to restore the default dock (may not be the correct terminology). This has the tools up top, and then, depending on what tool is selected, some settings on the bottom.
I've been in the windows tab trying to locate the dock and can't. Hitting "tab" on the keyboard opens another singular dock. I would like the original multifunction one that comes on install.
I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it remembered my dock settings.
How to dock some tabs (tool options, layers, colors...) in the toolbox? or dock the toolbox in a multitab tool window with tool options, layers, colors.. ? would be nice to have only TWO windows: one for the image (without pollution), one "service" window !
This was possible in 2.6, but not (for me) in 2.7.4.
I saw it once & it appeared (by accident) on the left side tool box. All of the properties of the text - i.e. size etc was shown on the tool box. How do I make that happen again ? I am brand new to Gimp.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes Iwould close by mistake a tool dock by clicking alt-F4 a little toofast, while the dock has the focus, but I thought it was the image(and I wanted to close this image). Then the dock configuration (whichtools were set there, which tabs, size and position of the dock andtabs, etc.) is lost. So of course, I can always recreate the dock,reposition/resize it, set the right tools inside. But that's boring.
would therebe an option right now to prevent the tool docks from closing by theusual window-close event (so you could close them by the dock menuexplicitely, but not by quick shortcut for instance)?
I just opened two separate projects in Revit Architecture 2014 and the Properties window and the Project Browser Window will not dock. When I double click on the top tab of each one, it will expand in width to the full width of my screen. I recently upgraded from 2013 to 2014. Is this a 2014 glitch?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Gimp 2.6.8 on Windows and, somehow, the Tool Options separated into a new window a week or so ago. I tried docking it back to the Toolbox, but nothing is working.
I googled and found that this is normally fixed by dragging Tool Options onto the Toolbox, but there is nowhere for me to do that. Is there some trick or maybe this is just a bug or something? Nothing seems to work and the separate Tool Options window is incredibly annoying.
I'm new here but an occasional Gimp user since v2.6. I have recently installed the latest version on my new tablet and I was configuring the layout of the docks and realised that there's no way to save different layouts so I could try alternative dock positions to find what suits best to my workflow, or maybe have different ones for depending on what I'm working on.
The only way I could think to achieve this could be to exchange Gimps preferences file, but where is that stored? BTW it would be a nice feature to add in future releases.
I'm a consistent yet still newbie user who uses GIMP in lieu of other photo editing programs. how to get my Toolbox and Tool Options to seam back together? I somehow pulled them apart, and when I click on 'Lock Tab to Dock' it does nothing, they're still separate.
