Apr 20, 2004I have replaced the icon on the dock and run disk utilites I still can not drag a file on to the icon on the dock to open it, any other suggstions.

Nov 28, 2012Why can't I open a file in Elements Editor 11 for Mac by dragging the file onto the Elements icon in the dock? I have been using previous versions of Elements for many years and this has always worked.

Apr 19, 2004I have updated to 10.3.3, after updating I can no longer drag a file onto the dock icon to open it, any suggestions, is it a 10.3.3 problem or did I turn something off that I am unaware of. It will launch the program if it is not open but it will not actually open the file.

Dec 11, 2012Photoshop dock icon disappeared since the Retina update? Just to be clear, it hasn't just removed itself from the Dock. There's an empty space and when moused over it says Adobe Photoshop CS6 but it's just a blank space. The icon is missing from the Applications folder too.

Aug 29, 2013I'm writing because after reinstall the Mountain Lion (10.8.4), I realized that dragging an image from Chrome (29.0. 1547. 62) to the dock icon Photoshop CS6 the icon is not active and therefore the program does not open with the image, I tried with firefox (23.0.1) and the dock icon photoshop is animated and open photoshop but show the following message "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." I tried with SAFARI and all fine, without problems. I note that before reinstallation and after doing a clean install (I do a back up, I formated the hard drive and install the mountain lion) this option worked perfect.
I check the following path ~ / Library / Caches / TemporaryItems that is where store the pictures as you take the browser and when stored in the folder but never open photoshop, I want to emphasize that opening photoshop and open a blank canvas, I can drag and drop (drag and drop) and the image appears, but with the dock icon anymore.
I have many theories but also not solve:
1. It's a permissions problem.
2. Any option is not enabled (OS X or photoshop) or not installed
3. Some kind of incompatibility, but again and worked without problems.
After Effects :: Making Icon On Dock - Can't Open Files
Dec 14, 2013I was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects and then it listed a preset ( blur) and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
I cant open my AE(after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that? can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?will adobe make me download the newer CC version?I don't want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6.
Illustrator :: Why Won't AI Allow To Drag Selection Icon Into Live Paint Group
Jan 23, 2013I routinely add paths to existing Live Paint Groups, by dragging a path that is outside the group, into the LP group. But AI won't let me drag the "selection icon" from a nested layer, into an existing LP Group. Why?
It seems I'm requesting the same action, but AI won't allow the icon to be dragged into the group. I have to either open the layer and drag the objects directly, or drag the objects into the main layer, then into the Live Paint Group. I think this is an interface flaw.
FYI… I realize I could jump into the Live Paint Group using Isolation mode, but that takes extra steps and makes the template less useful.

Apr 26, 2009I don't know what made it stop but at this point it's beginning to bug me to no end. I can no longer simply drag a file into Photoshop. I now have to go to "file --> open" in order to get anything into. Is there anything I can do to restore the ability to drag and drop?Just to let you know I reset the preferences already and that did nothing. The other thing is I'm running Windows 7, however I've never had an issue with PS on it. I'm using CS4.

Mar 25, 2009I saw that the file icons of the PNG files are not the blue ones (like we all know them, after installing Photoshop CS3), but the default Windows (I'm using Windows XP SP3) icons. I mean like when I don't have a program to open a given file, that is how it looks like. But when I double click on the PNG file it opens right away, so in my eyes there is a problem, of some kind, with the ICO file itself. The strangest thing is that this ICO file is not missing, deleted or moved! This happened only with the PNG files. All other Photoshop related files are ok and have their respective icons. how to change the PNG file icon, so I can choose manually the ICO file.

Feb 23, 2008I need to make some transparent icons for an application I have built, however I can't find the option to save as an icon in Photoshop or Illustrator, I have all the CS3 Standard Products.
Currently I am copying an image from Illustrator to photoshop, I set the background type to Transparent, and I save that file out in photoshop as a PNG, and then I use a program called Ifranview, to save that PNG as an icon, however, instead of being transparent, it has a black background, so I am hoping there is an option in one of the CS3 Standard products, or something else that can save an icon out as transparent.

If I import iPhoto photo’s directly within Organizer I loose photo information.

I would like to create a file where people can drag and drop on of the images from layer two onto a slot in layer one. Nov 10, 2011I've opened a gif file (web icon) which has shades of green. I want to use this on another site of ours which is similar but has shades of orange.
I use the dropper to select the color from a gif on the orange site - so the color is there in the color section box.
When I try to draw / fill on the green gif it ignores the orange color selected and uses a green from green gif. A lighter orange gives a lighter green.
