I have been using Gimp for a while and have never had this happen. When I open Gimp, it does not show the usual Gimp, File, Help Menu at the top. I am unable to open a file in Gimp. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still this tab is missing.
View 1 RepliesExporting my photo’s from iPhoto to the desk top and then importing to Photoshop Organizer 11, ALL photo’s show “Missing File” icon (?) in the top left corner when I eliminate photo’s from iPhoto. Why do I have to keep photo’s in iPhoto? Is there a workaround?
If I import iPhoto photo’s directly within Organizer I loose photo information.
I've opened a gif file (web icon) which has shades of green. I want to use this on another site of ours which is similar but has shades of orange.
I use the dropper to select the color from a gif on the orange site - so the color is there in the color section box.
When I try to draw / fill on the green gif it ignores the orange color selected and uses a green from green gif. A lighter orange gives a lighter green.
I just opened up a project (.xcf) I hadn't worked on in a couple days only to find about half of the layers missing. I have no idea what's happened to them and I'd really like to get them back.
Using GIMP 2.6.11 and Windows Vista
When I open a file that I have previously saved a message comes up saying the font Biondi Normal (Western) is not available and it wants to substitute with another font in this case Ribbon Normal which is nothing like the font I need. I have read the previous threads but as they are quite old I thought there might be something new (perhaps easier) I could try.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy did Adobe remove the file preview area from the File > Open dialog box? I like having all my file requests showing Details mode so I need the Preview window when I am navigating, browsing and opening files.
Illustrator CS6 still has a Preview window, granted it only works on AI files, it should be able to preview PDFs and EPS files correctly, let alone all raster formats.
I was entitled to a free upgrade to CS4 which I have installed but I now have many problems in trying to get CS4 to run properly.
1. Sometimes CS4 will open but the toolbar with FILE, EDIT is missing
2. Mostly when I open CS4 IF I click on 'FILE' everything is greyed out apart from Import, Automate and scripts and CS4 hangs.
3. If I click on FILE to try and open a file that too is greyed out until I click on 'Clear open recent'
4. If I open a image and want to get rid of any blemishes with the spot healing brush I can select the tool, click on a spot and a nice splodge is left on the image but the tool does not clear the blemish until I click on a completely different tool. eg. Text or anything.
5. Using Unsharp mask As I move the 'Radius' Nothing happens for ages.
So I have absolutely no idea why this these things are happening.
My System is Windows Vista
4GB Ram (although CS4 only thinks I have just under 2GB
CPU Intel Dual core 2.2GHZ
Graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GT and last week I downloaded a new driver to 7.15.11.7824
I have played with the cache and memory allocation, to no avail
system info: win8 64bit, autocad 2013 64 bit,
if open autocad program first, every thing is fine , ribboon is working good. but if derictly open a .dwg file when autocad is not running, the ribbon panel is gone, i tried every method i can find -- reinstall, repair install, type "ribbon" command, reset cui, swich to other worksapce then swich back--- but the ribbon just don't come back.
in CS6 illustrator when we open file we get message " font Missing" but fonts are loaded.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy CS4 shortcut icon has disappeared from my desktop and I have a generic Windows 7 icon left instead. I have tried rebooting to re-create the proper shortcut icon but always get just the generic one. I am running Windows 7 RC1 and have no problems with CS4. Grateful for any ideas on how to get back the proper CS4 icon.

There's an empty space and when moused over it says Adobe Photoshop CS6 but it's just a blank space. The icon is missing from the Applications folder too.

My UCS Icon has disappeared from Modelspace.
It's were it belongs in Paperspace.
The USC Icon is set to "Noorigin" and the color is set to RED for Modelspace.
I need it to orient the many angled spaces we have in this Plan.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI will do absolutely ANYTHING to restore this picture. I've been working on it for hours. I thought I learned my lesson from working for hours and not saving, but apparently my lesson might now be to save in 8 places while working.
I was working on a drawing, saving as I went, and my laptop shut off unexpected as I was saving. I thought it saved before it shut off, but when I came back on, it wouldn't open the xcf file. The preview still shows up, and the file is still 1.37MB. Is there ANY way of redeeming my drawing? Any other programs I could open it in or way to fix it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedPSPx6 64-bit runs fine on my computer, but a few weeks ago, the shortcut icon on my desktop (installed by installer program) "defaulted" to a generic-looking "document" icon that communicates nothing. The original icon with a camera and "64-bit" in it disappeared, and I can't figure out how to get it back. Deleting the generic desktop icon and re-creating a shortcut from program files/corel/corel paintshop pro x6 (64-bit) doesn't restore the original icon either. Sounds trivial, but a dumb-looking icon in the system tray (when I have a lot of work going on) doesn't work for me find PSPx6 when I have minimized it. Plus, I wonder if the missing icon isn't sign something else is "broken" as well? (diagnosis, PSPx6 32-bit is also on this laptop, as is PSP pro x3.)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI loaded 2013 Civil 3D and I customized my Ribbon with Zoom Commands I use frequently; everything looked fine...I changed the Workspace to Planning & Analysis and cutomized my Ribbon to include the Zoom Commands but a Button Icon for ZOOM_TO_POINT came up with a cloud & question mark. I went to look for the Icon Image & I don't see it. I made the mistake of changing the Icon to another hoping I could change it back but it's not there. I went to the 2012 verison & the Button Icon is there...first icon listed. Where are the icons in 2012 so I can drag & drop image into 2013?
The icon has a point symbol with a magnifying glass. I've checked other computers and the same thing. Can't find the Image Icon for ZOOM_TO_POINT. It shows up when you load the software but if you want to edit it...it's not there in the CUI Button Icons.
In ACA 2011 I have the project browser icon. This is easy to find and use in the 2011 quick access toolbar.
When I open the "Customize user interface" I find and select "Project Browser", then I see under the properties of the command I only see "Display" and "Advanced" nothing else is listed. This command is quite odd compared to other commands.
However, in ACA 2013 this icon is completely missing, I cannot find it in the quick access toolbar, when I search in the "Customize user interface" command list, I cannot find "Project Browser" in the search field of the command list.
How do I find the command for project browser so that I can drag it / steal it from another .cuix file?
Bonus Question: How do I stop the sheet set manager from always showing up? I use the sheets tab of the project navigator all the time.
Just installed inventor 2013 and the icon to launch vault is missing from the ribbon where it used to be in v 2012. Also when i try to open a file the quick link to vault is not there. i have installed vault basic 2013 and it opens up fine and my files are in it. Do i have to create a link?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running 2.8 with Windows 7 64 bit. This just started today. I had done a picture, then closed out gimp. When I reopened it, I could no longer open files in Gimp. I can start gimp, then click on open files, and scroll through the files, and as soon as I select one, it whites out and says Gimp has stopped responding. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, same issue. I tried jpeg, png, and xfc files, none will load.

Unable to open swap file. GIMP has run out of memory and cannot use the swap file. Some parts of your images may be corrupted. Try to save your work using different filenames, restart GIMP and check the location of the swap directory in your Preferences.
When I check preferences, the path to the swap file is not correct. My path is user to Application to Application Support to Library to Gimp.
