The AutoCAD deadline-sensor is working well this week as this Project near completion.
The closer we get to the deadline, the more AutoCAD slows down.
My UCS Icon has disappeared from Modelspace.
It's were it belongs in Paperspace.
The USC Icon is set to "Noorigin" and the color is set to RED for Modelspace.
I need it to orient the many angled spaces we have in this Plan.
I have a co-worker that wants to rotate the UCS ICON and the CROSSHAIRS in model space but not the actual view on the screen. On my machine this is what it does when I use the UCS command. On their machine it rotates everything. Is there a "variable" that controls this?

I have a project where 60 drawings will be duplicated for each of a dozen sites. Each site has a four digit prefix (i.e. 800X) that is added to the drawing number, equipment callouts, leaders and various notes throughout the sheets. Even using Find/Replace, this is a lot of work to revise every time I copy them, so I’m thinking that this is a job for fields, no?
Well, I had no problem making a “global” field called SiteNo and inserting it into the title block. Then I inserted the same field into a couple of references in the general notes as well, where it works fine. But when I put it into several leaders sprinkled throughout the drawing I found a problem: regen or regen all will update the title block and note references (all in paperspace, of course), but not the ones in model space. I’ve tried putting the field in both mtext and dtext, and I’ve checked to be sure FIELDEVAL is set to 31. Nothing makes fields in modelspace update.
But I know that the field is set up correctly. If I doubleclick any modelspace occurance (text or mleader), then right click and choose “update field”, it fills in the right value. This however negates my goal. If I have to select each one, I might as well put it in as text and use FIND/REPLACE on each individual drawing.
I was REALLY hoping that I could go to the properties of the sheet set, change one box, and see all occurrences in all drawings for that site update, which is my understanding of the purpose and power of fields. I've spent a lot of time searching the web, seen a lot of issues and solutions, but nothing that quite hits my problem.
In the plot dialog box the options Plot paperspace last and Hide paperspace objects are only supposed to be available in Paperspace however they show up as checked in some of our drawings when plotting from Modelspace. They should be greyed out then. (see attached) If I copy/paste all objects into a new drawing everything is fine. If I delete all layout tabs the options are still checked when plotting in model space.
The only thing I can figure is there are paperspace entities in my model space or that somehow paperspace is leaking through into modelspace.
I'm having a little problem with the modelspace in a vport disappearing on me.
I am trying to do some B.O.M. work, and sometimes I can't snap to a particular point/object, so I turn osnap off and zoom in to identify the correct object. After a certain point in the zoom the drawing regens and then the modelspace disappears completely.
I tried a regenall, closing the drawing and starting it up again, but it's still not there. I checked the properties and it still says it's a vport. When I double click it to enter modelspace from the vport it doesn't take me into modelspace.
I've checked my maxactvp, that's maxed out at 64. I've run an audit and that didn't work.

I asked this a long time ago but I'm hoping something has changed. If I have 2 Modelspace viewports is there any way to switch their contents? Right now I create 2 views and restore them in alternate viewports.

Explaining: You have created layout which includes multiple viewports with different scale and size (view, section). Now you copy the layout to create a new layout with with same viewports. Now you have to change the view in all viewports. I have used technique where you double-click in viewport and you navigate in modelspace (pan/zoom) until you reach the right position.
The problem is If you have like 100 layouts with 10 viewports each, it takes very long time to pan the views into right position.
I have a some theories:
1. If I could see the viewports in modelspace, I could drag them all into right position without navigating them one-by-on in paperspace.
2. If I could pan the view in viewport by specific amount lets say 10m to the right.
I have a floor plan xreffed into model space, visretain=1 and i can see the room numbers. I switch to paperspace and go to layer properties and highlight all layers and then turn on all layers in he drawing and thaw in all three columns and still the room numbers do not show. The layer listed in model space is on and thawed. Why won't it show?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy modelspace is showing thru my wipeouts... But the wipeouts are active and I have remade the viewports with the same result. I've used draw order with no change. And here's the kicker. It (the Wipeout) hides the viewport frame, but not the actual model space material being shown thru the viewport. It remains visible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn ModelSpace, when I drag the crosshairs over to the right edge of the screen, the crosshairs will vanish and reappear on the left side of the screen. This is a major problem: If I am reaching for an object off to the right and overshoot with the mouse a little, the crosshairs will suddenly be way over on the left. But much worse than this, I have a toolbar oriented vertically on the right side of the screen. I literally cannot get to that toolbar because the crosshairs swap over to the left side of the screen, instead of changing over to an arrow cursor to make use of the menus.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI loaded 2013 Civil 3D and I customized my Ribbon with Zoom Commands I use frequently; everything looked fine...I changed the Workspace to Planning & Analysis and cutomized my Ribbon to include the Zoom Commands but a Button Icon for ZOOM_TO_POINT came up with a cloud & question mark. I went to look for the Icon Image & I don't see it. I made the mistake of changing the Icon to another hoping I could change it back but it's not there. I went to the 2012 verison & the Button Icon is there...first icon listed. Where are the icons in 2012 so I can drag & drop image into 2013?
The icon has a point symbol with a magnifying glass. I've checked other computers and the same thing. Can't find the Image Icon for ZOOM_TO_POINT. It shows up when you load the software but if you want to edit it...it's not there in the CUI Button Icons.
In ACA 2011 I have the project browser icon. This is easy to find and use in the 2011 quick access toolbar.
When I open the "Customize user interface" I find and select "Project Browser", then I see under the properties of the command I only see "Display" and "Advanced" nothing else is listed. This command is quite odd compared to other commands.
However, in ACA 2013 this icon is completely missing, I cannot find it in the quick access toolbar, when I search in the "Customize user interface" command list, I cannot find "Project Browser" in the search field of the command list.
How do I find the command for project browser so that I can drag it / steal it from another .cuix file?
Bonus Question: How do I stop the sheet set manager from always showing up? I use the sheets tab of the project navigator all the time.
Just installed inventor 2013 and the icon to launch vault is missing from the ribbon where it used to be in v 2012. Also when i try to open a file the quick link to vault is not there. i have installed vault basic 2013 and it opens up fine and my files are in it. Do i have to create a link?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know how to align an object in model space with the edge of my viewport in paperspace.
When I draw, I like to lay out multiple complete drawings in model space, make an appropriately scaled bounding box around them, and then snap a view port to the bounding box in my layout. I usually have multiple drawings lined up in a row in modelspace, so when I want a new layout I do a Save As and then pan around in my viewport to find the next bounding box, at which point I have to resize the viewport to get it to snap to the edges nicely. I really want to be able to to it the otehr way around- while panning I'd like to be able to grab a corner of my modelspace bouding box and snap it to the the corresponding corner of my viewport window. That way making new layouts would be a snap. Is there a way to do this in AutoCAD 2012 LT?
My CS4 shortcut icon has disappeared from my desktop and I have a generic Windows 7 icon left instead. I have tried rebooting to re-create the proper shortcut icon but always get just the generic one. I am running Windows 7 RC1 and have no problems with CS4. Grateful for any ideas on how to get back the proper CS4 icon.

There's an empty space and when moused over it says Adobe Photoshop CS6 but it's just a blank space. The icon is missing from the Applications folder too.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe AutoCAD video tutorials on the site such as "AutoCAD 2010_ 01 Getting Ready for 3D" show a 3D UCS icon which has some nice arrows at the end of each axis, this looks similar to the icon in Solidworks.
Has there been some change in design to this icon from 2010 to 2014? The UCS 3D icon in the version 2014 that i'm running does not have these arrows and if I can find a setting to have it display in this way, it certainly doesn't show up in any of the visual styles e.g. xray, conceptual or realistic. I've not found any info anywhere documenting the change, if any.

View 9 Replies View RelatedPSPx6 64-bit runs fine on my computer, but a few weeks ago, the shortcut icon on my desktop (installed by installer program) "defaulted" to a generic-looking "document" icon that communicates nothing. The original icon with a camera and "64-bit" in it disappeared, and I can't figure out how to get it back. Deleting the generic desktop icon and re-creating a shortcut from program files/corel/corel paintshop pro x6 (64-bit) doesn't restore the original icon either. Sounds trivial, but a dumb-looking icon in the system tray (when I have a lot of work going on) doesn't work for me find PSPx6 when I have minimized it. Plus, I wonder if the missing icon isn't sign something else is "broken" as well? (diagnosis, PSPx6 32-bit is also on this laptop, as is PSP pro x3.)

On the other hand people using 2010 are having objects missing in the drawing. All layers are turned on and all thawed. The primary objects missing are AEC objects. Is there a switch to show or hide these object?
