I need to make some transparent icons for an application I have built, however I can't find the option to save as an icon in Photoshop or Illustrator, I have all the CS3 Standard Products.
Currently I am copying an image from Illustrator to photoshop, I set the background type to Transparent, and I save that file out in photoshop as a PNG, and then I use a program called Ifranview, to save that PNG as an icon, however, instead of being transparent, it has a black background, so I am hoping there is an option in one of the CS3 Standard products, or something else that can save an icon out as transparent.
I need to convert a PNG image to an icon in Windows icon format. Can I do that in XDP7?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI uploaded some photos from my phone onto my laptop. These seem to have disappeared altogether. They are no longer on my phone, they are not in any of the folders on my laptop (I have checked several times) and they are not in my laptop recycling bin either. Since this happened, I have notcied the appearance of many LRPREV files on my laptop, which I cannot open and I have not seen before. Putting 2 and 2 together, I am inclined to believe that the lost uploaded photos from my phone are the LRPREV files, and that they were somehow, unintentionally converted.
What are LRPREV files, and how do I open them? Alternatively, is there a way to convert them into a file type which I can open? where my uploaded photos may be?
I am running AutoCAD 2013. My issue is that the top row of icons (New, Open, Save, etc. and all of the Autodesk 360 info) have become nearly invisible. If I hover the cursor over the icon it tells me what it is and I know I am clicking in the correct area. I think it was some sort of background transparency issue, but can't remember where to reset that to opaque.

For example, if the Crop tool is selected three pictures of the Crop tool display as the cursor. I have tried the Control-Alt-Shift reset w/o success.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if the is a way to go from a Inventor file type to a Solidworks file type. One of our customers is asking for one or the other following file types: .asm or .prt.
They also mentioned something about "shrink wrapping" the file to all the surfaces.
I'm looking to create (for lack of a better term) partial duplicate layers of text, offset from the main layer with transparency in between.
A common effect in vintage typography, as seen here:

I imagine it will take some customization of the paths, particularly in the case of how the word "Seattle" appears here. But I basically need to figure out the best way to duplicate the layer and keep only the parts of it I want to keep as an accent "shadow"
font layers of my PSD files. In order to print them I used Layer>Type>Convert To Shape. But now I want to change text but I can't as it's a shape now.
So how can I do the opposite converting shapes to type and be able to use my font?
10.7.4/Mac Pro/PhotoshopCS6 13.0 - When cmyk converting a multilayered rgb file layers containing transparency doesn't convert to same profile as layers not including transparency, e.g. a product with a shadow - each on separate layers.
the product layer is converted to working Color settings but the transparent layer isn't and is converted completely different, both grayscale and UCR/GCR.
way to quickly "convert" a line of text, created by just clicking with the text tool, and typing, into a text block? Other than copy and pasting the text in to a new, drawn out text box?

Is there a simple way to convert a JPEG type image to DXF/DWG? A friend wants me to have an image laser cut into sheet metal to create a fire ring. I received the image in a jpeg format. There has to be an easier way to create the geometry then me importing the image into AC and tracing it. Below is the image.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have created a page full of column and line graphs for our newspaper operation.
Our output and printing specs are such that we always convert type to outlines to be safe for any device in the production pipeline that might be missing a font.
On this page of graphs, all the descriptive type and graphics I have added to the page let me do this.
But when I select the type that belongs to the graph and choose Create Outlines in the Type menu, it does not create outlines.
I also cannot delete that type.
How can I force this type to turn into outlines/paths?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a file built in AI CS6. The file was supplied to us with live type. It is common practice for us to convert live type to outlines to avoid any unforeseen type re-flow at the rip. This particular file added a character at the end of a line that wasn't there before the conversion. I have attached screen shots. Is there a way to post the native file to this forum?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI saw that the file icons of the PNG files are not the blue ones (like we all know them, after installing Photoshop CS3), but the default Windows (I'm using Windows XP SP3) icons. I mean like when I don't have a program to open a given file, that is how it looks like. But when I double click on the PNG file it opens right away, so in my eyes there is a problem, of some kind, with the ICO file itself. The strangest thing is that this ICO file is not missing, deleted or moved! This happened only with the PNG files. All other Photoshop related files are ok and have their respective icons. how to change the PNG file icon, so I can choose manually the ICO file.

View 3 Replies View RelatedCorel Draw 5 did this very nicely but it's obsolete and I can't load it onto this machine (HP all-in-one Pavilion desktop with Windows 8).
I am working with hand-drawn images but since I need to manipulate the outline/s with a 4 - 12 pixel tool, it would be great to just be editing nodes instead. Creating the image from scratch as a vector graphic would be a horrible large amount of work and is not feasible at this time.
Is there any way other than Corel Draw 5 to make the conversion from bitmap-type images to editable vector graphics, ie: editable nodes?
PS - I don't have $700 - $1000 to spend on software at this point but do have Photoshop Elements 11, Premiere 11 and Lightroom, plus GIMP and the usual. Where should I start?
I usually have full icons for my files, but for some reason my Photoshop CS6 file icons keep getting turned into the white icons with a little "PS" logo inside. I am using Windows 7 Professional edition on a 64-Bit Desktop.
The icon shouls be a full icon similar to the following (I know this is an After Effects icon - but is just to show an example of what I meant by a full file icon).
I have replaced the icon on the dock and run disk utilites I still can not drag a file on to the icon on the dock to open it, any other suggstions.
