way to quickly "convert" a line of text, created by just clicking with the text tool, and typing, into a text block? Other than copy and pasting the text in to a new, drawn out text box?
I have recived an illustrator file which ontains some text and I have to update the labels on the file but it seems the text has been chnged to Outlines Path. how i can convert them to regular editable text type?
We have an employee in our office that is kind of old school in some ways. That person has a habit of exploding everything possible in a drawing. Most of us create notations using mtext so it's easy to edit and manipulate. Is there a way to convert the single line text back to multiline after it's exploded?
I endlessly find that I have text line objects which I later wish had been proper text areas (because I want to control the size of their bounding box, for example).
Is there any sensible way to convert a text line object into a text area object - it's a bore to do it by creating a new text object and then cutting and pasting the text, and it is seemingly a trivial thing for the software to do automatically.
Alternatively, is there an option (perhaps a hidden one) to have all text objects created as areas rather than lines?
How do I edit line types? whenever I copy this particular existing line type into the other drawing the text style changes. There is no way of editing it when I go to the line's properties. I want to change the line type's Text style.
I have a type layer with some text in it (a headline, let's say). I click on the layer, I click on the Character Panel, and first thing I see is the color in the Panel is not the color of the font in the layer.
I then click on any Panel property, and the text in this layer is replaced by text from another layer in my document ( a paragraph layer, let's say), but the color is not the same as the layer the text came from.
I created some new custom line types using express tool featute in autocad and I saved it with a .lin extension. It is only available in that drawing itself. How I canget those line type in all my new drawings.
I tired to edit the default linetype file even it doesnot appear in the linetype manger windo.

I've tried every permutation of copy and paste; I renamed the path to path. It looks like a path when I add stroke, but it does not behave like one. I can't cut it or join it to any other path. It remembers it's text path status. I'm running OS X 10.7.5.
We are creating a new company title block for the use in Inventor 2010 and AutoCAd 2010. It has initially been generated in Inventor and exported to AutoCAD. My problem is that all attributes that came over are now setup as multiline attributes and I can't seem to change them to single line. Therefore you have to open the multiline editor separately for every single item to make changes in lieu of just 'tabbing' through the values in the Enhanced Attribute Editor. This adds time and frustration and seems to be intolerable for some of my colleagues.
Is there a way to change the attributes to a single line in AutoCAD I'm just not aware of? I tried to find different settings for the export from Inventor but the options seem to be very limited.
I could probably go over this and create separate AutoCad only titleblock and border but that would kind of defeat the purpose.
I am using HP Pavilion g series, Vista window.Using photoshop CS3. Biggest problem i facing that when i type something and i want to go to next line and i press button ENTER. It wont go to next line That means i couldnt write in kind of paragraph. For each line i have to set new layer.
when i use type tool, i can generate letters, but when i press the enter button to start a new line, then it starts printing backwards. and i cannot place cursor on next line. what are the leading, baseline, tracking and kerning supposed to be set at for normal display.
Is there a simple way to convert a JPEG type image to DXF/DWG? A friend wants me to have an image laser cut into sheet metal to create a fire ring. I received the image in a jpeg format. There has to be an easier way to create the geometry then me importing the image into AC and tracing it. Below is the image.
I have created a page full of column and line graphs for our newspaper operation.
Our output and printing specs are such that we always convert type to outlines to be safe for any device in the production pipeline that might be missing a font.
On this page of graphs, all the descriptive type and graphics I have added to the page let me do this.
But when I select the type that belongs to the graph and choose Create Outlines in the Type menu, it does not create outlines.
I also cannot delete that type.
How can I force this type to turn into outlines/paths?
I'm trying to vectorize my image and Photoshop makes this hard, and im told AI is the better option,. I dont have the program and wasd wondering if you can do it? Ill give you a virtual high five if you dio...
I have a file built in AI CS6. The file was supplied to us with live type. It is common practice for us to convert live type to outlines to avoid any unforeseen type re-flow at the rip. This particular file added a character at the end of a line that wasn't there before the conversion. I have attached screen shots. Is there a way to post the native file to this forum?
I'm just getting a horizontal line when I try to type a letter in Photoshop CS6. No Brush Presets it seems. I was previously Painting in PS CS6. I use Apple OS X Ver 10.8.
I've seen this topic on here before. If I choose the type tool, it's just a flat line. I've chosen a black or dark color on a white surface and I've messed around with the size of the type.
I know that there was a command that would convert single line text to multi-line text but I can not find it. It use to be tt2mt or something like that.
I can not find this command in the help either. Did they get rid of this command like zoom center?
how to take multiple single line text and add them together into one multi-line text?
how to get this problem resolved. everytime i use my type, when i click on my work area, a black dot appears on page before i begin to type. then no matter what font i use, there is a black line under all my type. how can i get just the black dot from appearing at first when i click, and that annoying line under all my type to dissappear! i'm veryy new to photoshop, and i have cs.
I uploaded some photos from my phone onto my laptop. These seem to have disappeared altogether. They are no longer on my phone, they are not in any of the folders on my laptop (I have checked several times) and they are not in my laptop recycling bin either. Since this happened, I have notcied the appearance of many LRPREV files on my laptop, which I cannot open and I have not seen before. Putting 2 and 2 together, I am inclined to believe that the lost uploaded photos from my phone are the LRPREV files, and that they were somehow, unintentionally converted.
What are LRPREV files, and how do I open them? Alternatively, is there a way to convert them into a file type which I can open? where my uploaded photos may be?
when i started typing on my GIF image, the little guide, the line that blinks on and off to show your position is all the way on the left not the right. So when i would type the line moves to the left and pushes the words to the right.
