AutoCAD 2010 :: Can't Convert Multi Line Attributes To Single Line
Jan 22, 2010
We are creating a new company title block for the use in Inventor 2010 and AutoCAd 2010. It has initially been generated in Inventor and exported to AutoCAD. My problem is that all attributes that came over are now setup as multiline attributes and I can't seem to change them to single line. Therefore you have to open the multiline editor separately for every single item to make changes in lieu of just 'tabbing' through the values in the Enhanced Attribute Editor. This adds time and frustration and seems to be intolerable for some of my colleagues.
Is there a way to change the attributes to a single line in AutoCAD I'm just not aware of? I tried to find different settings for the export from Inventor but the options seem to be very limited.
I could probably go over this and create separate AutoCad only titleblock and border but that would kind of defeat the purpose.
We have an employee in our office that is kind of old school in some ways. That person has a habit of exploding everything possible in a drawing. Most of us create notations using mtext so it's easy to edit and manipulate. Is there a way to convert the single line text back to multiline after it's exploded?
I know that there was a command that would convert single line text to multi-line text but I can not find it. It use to be tt2mt or something like that.
I can not find this command in the help either. Did they get rid of this command like zoom center?
how to take multiple single line text and add them together into one multi-line text?
Having issues with multi line attributes in dynamic blocks. On the odd occasion I get the attribute moved for example i use multi line attribute for title block information and sometimes it moves where i don't want it .
I am experiencing this issue every now and then and I don't know why or how it happens. No modifications to the BlockDefinitions or any BlockReferences are made and for some magic all multiline attributes in the drawing file revert to single line. After that happens the only way I know to fix them is to go through all definitions in the Block Attribute Manager and make every attribute multiline again. This is very annoying because I don't know how it happens so it can be prevented and because it takes time to fix them again. AutoCAD 2012 (Mechanical) on Windows 7 32 and 64 bits.
I want to entmake a block with a multiline attribute. Entmaking the block definition works fine, but what do I code for the Multiline Attribute? Should it be coded (0 . "MTEXT") instead of (0 . "ATTRIB")? I know (101 . "Embedded Object") does not work. What other codes need to be included?
I have a block which includes some Multiple lines attributes.
Now I don't want them to be multiple lines any more.
How can I change them to single line attribute?
In the block editor, the "Multiple lines" in the properties palette is gray out. I have create single line attribute and replace the multiple line attributes one by one.
Why don't make the Multiple lines property editable? This problem is since Multiple line attribute first time introduced.
Interesting thing is single line attributes can easily changed to multiple line attributes through the properties palette!
I have a couple of different files that I'm working on that I want a particular text box left-justified. I will get it left-justified and save the file, but the next time the file is opened the text is centered.
I just switched over from 2005 to 2012. In 2005 I used Express Tools to change several lines of text to one mtext object. I can't find it in 2012. I didn't realize how much I used it until I lost it.
how to select several lines of text and convert it to one mtext object?
When using RomanS, how do you stack fractions in single line text? AutoCad will do it automatically in multiline text but I am having trouble in single line text.
Is it possible to convert an arc into a segmented line? I have been looking for a couple of days now, but i cannot find the right command in either the help function or on the internet.
I use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle.
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Or is there an lsp that will work?
I'm working on setting up a process where I can bring AutoCAD drawings into GIS. I need to assign an attribute to a Polyline or Line so that the attributes can be viewed in GIS. I've noticed there is a way to convert AutoCAD to a SHP or SDP however I'm not familiar with this process.
I have a multileader with attributed labels in a block, see included png file. The attributes are indicated by the rectangled text. As you can see the block looks fine, but the leader attaches itself to the insertion point of the block. I want the leader to justify automatically left or right, depending on the drag position of the block. One thing I noticed is that if the block contains an odd number of text lines the leader will automatically self justify. An even number of text line produces what I have here.
I created some new custom line types using express tool featute in autocad and I saved it with a .lin extension. It is only available in that drawing itself. How I canget those line type in all my new drawings.
I tired to edit the default linetype file even it doesnot appear in the linetype manger windo.
*IRRIGATION,IRRIGATION LINE A,1,-.066042,["IRR",Standard,y=-.104589,s=.25],-.493243,1 *SEWARAGE,SEWARAGE LINE A,1,-.031293,["SEW",Standard,y=-.104589,s=.25],-.651197,1
Is there a way to change attribute properties (ex. text width factor) when the block is inside a multi leader? Double click on it only show the attribute value, not the enhanced attribute editor.
I am running photoshop CS on my laptop which is a Compaq presario 1503 AP.
I have had this problem since I used Photoshop 7 and now Photoshop CS. When I want to go to a new paragraph or the next line using the enter key, it just doesnt work.
When I hit enter, the text just exits the text entry/edit mode.
In my title block I have a attribute with the name project_Number. Now what I want to do is the following. When I edit my block with the project number. The project number should automatically be added to a text box without me typing in the project number twice.
E.g.. This Drawing is part of the consulting services provided for Project[Project_Number] and may not be used or applied for any other purpose without prior consultation.
in other word the project number should be reference in the text box from the attribute.
I have a drawing file in AutoCADMap 3D 2011 consists of some administrative boundaries and city boundaries. Now I have roads of multi line style in the same drawing. When I completed the drawing I noticed there were missing intersections and I wanted all the roads to look something like the drawing shown below.
Please look into the word file thats how I wanted to do intersection in my drawing. Is it possible to do this action in one command or tool.
This is how my drawing looks like. This is how I want the drawing to be.
My question is about the criation of the mulilines using UTM and VBA.
Let's go! I have the next script:
Public Sub LinhaDuplaContinua() Dim multiLineObj As AcadMLine Dim Vertices(1 To 36) As Double Vertices(1) = 547990.632012883 Vertices(2) = 9500776.33954744
[Code]..
This script add a new multi-line in the AUTOCAD.
How I configure that line in the VBA? I need create parallel lines with determinate offset and width.
I need create this type lines in determinate time:
when I go to edit a text in my drawing using dd edit. The text I want to edit is Italic T, but when I start typing it automatically changes to Txt. font. So every time when I'm done typing I have to highlight everything I typed and change the font manually. On an older computer I had I never had to do this.
When I manually enter the attribute, it comes up with 3 different data entry options but when I look at the attribute in .NET it shows IsMTextAttribute = FALSE.
What is the best way to set the multiline block attribute?
I use a lot of Multiline text, copy and paste that text to other areas of the floor plans that I draw, then edit the text. My problem is when I select the text for editing my cursors always appears in a different location other than Align left.
