Jan 22, 2013Is this possible? The problem with the express tools is that they place these single line text objects into one MLtext which is not what I want.

Mar 20, 2008We have an employee in our office that is kind of old school in some ways. That person has a habit of exploding everything possible in a drawing. Most of us create notations using mtext so it's easy to edit and manipulate. Is there a way to convert the single line text back to multiline after it's exploded?

However, the mtext entity always moves position slightly (compared to the original text entity) after converting the object. better lisp that converts multiple text entities into mtext entities (which are all separate still, i.e. not joined together) without the position of the entity changing?

Jan 22, 2010We are creating a new company title block for the use in Inventor 2010 and AutoCAd 2010. It has initially been generated in Inventor and exported to AutoCAD. My problem is that all attributes that came over are now setup as multiline attributes and I can't seem to change them to single line. Therefore you have to open the multiline editor separately for every single item to make changes in lieu of just 'tabbing' through the values in the Enhanced Attribute Editor. This adds time and frustration and seems to be intolerable for some of my colleagues.
Is there a way to change the attributes to a single line in AutoCAD I'm just not aware of? I tried to find different settings for the export from Inventor but the options seem to be very limited.
I could probably go over this and create separate AutoCad only titleblock and border but that would kind of defeat the purpose.

Seems there must be a way to make a surface out of objects. I would then use this resulting surface to carve a solid. DWG with 3D faces in it attached.

Oct 31, 2012How can I add single line text to my CAD drawing? I use DTEXT command, but there is no option to enter text height. CAD only asks me the rotation angle of text and then blinking cursor appears. If I type something, text gets so small it's almost invisible. Only option for me now is to scale but it takes too much time and too many clicks to get my text to wanted size. Why AutoCAD doesn't ask me for the height?

Illustrator :: Cannot Create Clipping Mask On 3 Separate Text Objects
Jan 9, 2013I have created custom text, so that each letter in my 3 letter word is a separate compound object.
Now I have made a filled (with gradient) ellipse and rectangle behind the text to create a clipping mask with all 3 text objects. (see image1) However, when I select all the objects and select: object>clipping mask >make, it only mask the one letter, which is the one on top. (see image 2)
However, when I group the 3 letters together, it does not create a clipping mask at all, it shows nothing... (see image 3)
How do I ake all 3 letters be in the mask?

Jan 8, 2012Have been making stuff in corel x5 for a cnc. I recently added text to a design, and the text appears to be a solid, single path. However, when I run my machine, the machine goes around the BORDER of the text, instead of just making a single pass over the text. Instead of just cutting the text in one path, it cuts around the border and the pieces fall from the material I am working on.
How can I change this? I dont want my machine to pass around the inside and outside of simple text, I only need 1 pass.

Dec 20, 2013Is there any way to have more than one text placement inside of a single layer, but be able to maintain and move each of those separately from the others? From what I have seen, each new Text item gets its own new layer. If I want to document an image with seven points of reference, it's absolutely crazy that I have to maintain seven layers, each with an integer 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7. What would be much more maintainable is to create ONE layer and name it "MAP-NUMBERS" and then have seven integers placed into that one layer. I would then want to be able to move - say - "2" around separately from "4". Then making all of the numbers appear or disappear becomes as easy as hiding or showing one layer.
Is there a way to do this with any version of Photoshop?

Apr 5, 2013I use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle.
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Or is there an lsp that will work?

I have had this problem since I used Photoshop 7 and now Photoshop CS. When I want to go to a new paragraph or the next line using the enter key, it just doesnt work.
When I hit enter, the text just exits the text entry/edit mode.

I endlessly find that I have text line objects which I later wish had been proper text areas (because I want to control the size of their bounding box, for example).
Is there any sensible way to convert a text line object into a text area object - it's a bore to do it by creating a new text object and then cutting and pasting the text, and it is seemingly a trivial thing for the software to do automatically.
Alternatively, is there an option (perhaps a hidden one) to have all text objects created as areas rather than lines?
