we just upgraded to acad 13 at the office and now when i pick single line text to edit it the transperancy of the shading is so dark i cannot see the text line to place my cursor where i need it to be to change say.. one letter or whatever.

We have an employee in our office that is kind of old school in some ways. That person has a habit of exploding everything possible in a drawing. Most of us create notations using mtext so it's easy to edit and manipulate. Is there a way to convert the single line text back to multiline after it's exploded?

How can I add single line text to my CAD drawing? I use DTEXT command, but there is no option to enter text height. CAD only asks me the rotation angle of text and then blinking cursor appears. If I type something, text gets so small it's almost invisible. Only option for me now is to scale but it takes too much time and too many clicks to get my text to wanted size. Why AutoCAD doesn't ask me for the height?

Experience - minimal (I come from using Xara and Inkscape).
My method of doing this type of art is mostly in Xara. I would creat block color shapes with decals and sticker, etc. and then use transparency gradients to create highlights and shadows. Here I was testing / getting use to the mesh tool and shaped the form of the car with color - rather then trasnparent highlights and shadows (top). But I now have to add stickers and decals to this car and tried to apply a clone of the hood mesh over the red stripes and it created a strang clipping error. You can see in the bottom screen cap that the sides and lower part of the red stripes disappeared, while the top remained untouched. Will I be able to use the mesh tool to create transparent highlights and shadows over the top of blocked coloe and the stickers, or will I have to manually match the shading on each sticker?
For example, I'm making revisions to a plan and drag a block or xref of the floor plan changes where walls/doors/windows have moved. I want to be able to simply pick the underlying linework as opposed to tracing over each line of said xref/block.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle.
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Or is there an lsp that will work?
I am running photoshop CS on my laptop which is a Compaq presario 1503 AP.
I have had this problem since I used Photoshop 7 and now Photoshop CS. When I want to go to a new paragraph or the next line using the enter key, it just doesnt work.
When I hit enter, the text just exits the text entry/edit mode.
How to set my eyedropper tool so that it picks up the result from several layers objects with transparency or different blending modes.

As an LT user I am unable to do so.If you rotate the block thru the range you will notice that the green line changes its relationship to the dark line.I would like for it to remain 5-1/2" from the dark line. (Truth be told I would like for it to stretch to 7-1/4 and 9-1/4 as well but that's another day.)

But the line space distance is the one thing I can't seem to edit. The only solution I know of and use is exploding the dimension and then the text turns to mtext and the option becomes available. But then if the section changes to a shorter/longer area, i have to go through several steps with the exploded lines. how to edit the line space distance for the annotation in the dimensions. i have also attached a pic of my issue as well.

However, when I erase the part of the background layer (I have no layers below it, and none above occupying the same space), I do not see the chequered transparency pattern, but dark grey. View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I place a dimension and have text above and below the dimension line (using X), and then grip edit the dimension text to move it for space/clarity on plans, the text above and below the line will mysteriously move closer to the line. If I have backgrounds applied to the text, which I normally do, the backgrounds will cover the line. Even without the background, it looks odd next to other dimensions that were not grip edited.

I like that Autodesk now allows us to just pick a command's option from the command line instead of typing a letter in the option. For example, when drawing a rectangle we're prompted to "Specify first corner point or [Chamfer Elecation Fillet Thickness Width]" and if we wanted to draw fillets on the rectangle we can simply PICK that option from the prompt in the command line OR enter an "F" and return.
Is there a way we can use this functionality in our custom programs?
