Nov 4, 2008when I have a file opened in PSCS4, I do not see the option to close only the file, not PS. I do not see the window for the file.

Photoshop :: Stop CS6 From Asking To Save Changes To File When Closing The File?
Mar 2, 2013I save a lot of files to "save for web". After saving PS asks if I want to save changes to the original file. I never want to save the changes to the original. Since the default is to change the file I am afraid I will accidentally OK the change without wanting to. I would like it to stop asking and just not save it. Is there a way?

Dec 5, 2008I have just installed PSCS4. The first time or two it launched without a hitch.
Now when I launch it I get two messages before it is apparently stable. The first message is: "Owl Orphanage: Photoshop.exe unable to locate command. This application failed to start because CoreFoundation.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." Click OK to acknowledge this message three times and the following message appears. "Could not load MMX Core Routines module because it does not work with this version of Photoshop." Acknowledge this message once and Photoshop CS4 loads apparently OK.
I reran the installation and still get the same messages.
I am running WindowsXPSP3 on an Intel Core2Duo. Photoshop CS3 is also installed on this machine.

Nov 9, 2008While working on a complex project with PSCS4 that involved copying and pasting from numerous open documents, I have been receiving an error message shown in the link. PS then shuts down with loss of my data.
I'm running Windows XP Pro with a dual Xeon processor workstation with 2GB of error correcting memory. PS3 and other applications have been working properly.
Any suggestions other than going back to PS3?

Aug 19, 2009I currently have a Lenovo X61T Tablet PC and I am testing out Photoshop CS4.When I try to set the brush to be pressure sensitive I get the little "!" icon displayed saying that I must have a tablet installed for this feature to work.I also have the FREE program of “Paint.net” installed on this tablet pc and that is able to detect the pressure sensitivity perfectly. So I would have thought this would rule out any driver issue as the functionality is working its just that Photoshop doesn’t seem to detect it and enable it.

Nov 2, 2008When I use the image processor in PSCS4 to process a large number of raw files using ACR 5.1 (Nikon D3 NEFs), I consistently receive an error message after about 10-11 files have been processed that the instruction at 0x696336ab tried to read memory at 0x6C (or thereabouts) and the memory could not be read. I am saving as JPEGs with the color space set to sRGB.
I de-installed and reinstalled PSCS4, but the error persists. The image processor worked fine with PSCS3. A workaround that solves the problem is to process the files as a batch using a simple action to accomplish the task.
I am running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 with a dual Xeon processor and 2G of error correcting memory.

Dec 6, 2011I get it on closing the Video Studio Pro 14.1.0.107.(S.Pac 2) I initialy got it when trying Corel's trial download so went and bought the Package, retail, thinking (foolishly) that that would solve the problem. I have spent hours on line with Corel Tech who said it was a conflict with jscript.dll in Explorer 9. I reverted back to Explorer 8 but no luck. It makes no difference whether V.S has files active or not so it is not a function of source files.
As youcan see on my profile - Windows 7, Home premium; 3.2 Gig Intel Core2 Duo; 3518 MB RAM; 500 Gig HD; 1024 MB NVidia GT 440 Video card.

Jan 4, 2012Several times when closing an IDW the image of the file reamains on the screen. The Tab for the file in the lower left hand corner dissapears but the image stil remains on the screen. You have to navigate to another open invnetor file in order for this image to dissapear. If you are not paying close attention you can inadvertantly close several files by repeatedly trying to close the "image" that is still on the screen. I am only seeing this on one of our workstations. Coulod this be a video card error or a setting?

I like GIMP and it's stable nature along with everything else... in addition to allot of standard photo editing and graphics creation, I recently used it for some of the animation filters, which are nice.
The only problem I'm having is that when I create a path, or multiple paths, and have them in the paths palette, after I save and close the file that contains the paths, the next time I open that file my paths are gone... completely disappeared.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Saving Automatically When Closing File?
Apr 12, 2013AutoCAD 2013, 60-90 days into it, upgraded from 2007.
I have 2 of 4 workstations with this issue, AutoCAD will automtically save the file when the files is closed, w/o any prompts to verify of we want to saved or not.
I have my Options|Autosave turned off, but this should not affect the save on close it should only create a continual ac$ backup file.
This is now the 2nd time this has occured. In early March we noticed this and in dealing with AutoCAD (Suscription Service) we finally deceided to restore AutoCAD to factory defaults, which did fix the issue at the time. However it also meant that I needed to retore all the pathways and our standards. Once completed, I paid particular attention to ensuring that AutoCAD was NOT saving the file on close and it was doing so up until earlier this week, when I noticed it SAVING on close again.
Now most of you might think, hey thats a good thing, however, we routinely will test modifications to our layouts on our working files, but dont want to actually modify those files and then we would simply close the drawing w/o saving thus ensuring that those mods were not saved.
In March, both 2007 & 2013 did this, however only my 2013 is affected now.

Mar 27, 2013Trying to create a bit of code that when the 'OnNew Document' event is fired the code checks for a particular Custom Property. Depending on what the Custom Property is set to a form is then fired with relevant text to point the user to a specific area in the workspace. Al this works ok.
But if they press cancel i need the code close the activate 'Part1' which inturn then allows the user to select 'New' to begin again.
I have tried various scenarios but the main problem is that Inventor then crashes!

Illustrator :: After Viewing And Closing File In AI - Can Delete It But Not Its Folder
Sep 13, 2012I’m going through a bunch of old files to see what I can git rid of.
After I view and then close a file in Illustrator CS6 I can delete the file, but not its containing folder, which stays locked, even after closing Illustrator. Restarting and closing Illustrator again usually enables me to delete the folder — but not always. Sometimes I have to close everything and log out and back in to be able to delete the folder. (BTW, Acrobat and Photoshop also share this problem.)
When you have, as I do, hundreds of files to go through, this becomes a real hassle.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Crashes When Loading Any File Or Closing Welcome Center?
Jan 12, 2013After downloading the Autodesk Inventor 2013, I was forced to download the hotfix. I completed the download, and started up Inventor. My force closed crash report directed me to the most updated update, which I then installed to no avail. I've sent an additional crash report, but I've yet to recieve any feedback. When I go to either load the .ipt blank file, or even close the welcome center tab (to be able to access the tools to troubleshoot) It shuts down.

Mar 11, 2012I know this happens sometimes when a file won't open after saving and closing it. Usually I can open the backup file with just some lost work, but not this time. Problem is this time it happened with a file I spend a long time working on. I tried unzipping and opening riffData.cdr with no luck. I've uploaded the file. It is a complex drawing with over 20 pages including vector and bitmap objects.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Can't Reuse Same IFeature In Part With Closing And Opening File
Mar 12, 2012I am using Inventor 2011 and vault. When I go to insert another instance of an IFeature i get a message that says "cannot insert iFeature that is currently open for edit (see attached) The .ide file and the part used to extract the iFeature are both closed and not checked out of the vault.
The only workaround I know of is is to close the file and open it up again.
AutoCAD 2013 :: How To Clear UNDO Or Layout Memory Without Closing And Reloading The File
Feb 26, 2013Say I have a model and some layouts in a file.
I open the file to the model. My RAM usage is about 33%. Next, I open the first layout and my usage climbs to 43%. I open the second layout and my usage climbs to 52%. I open the third layout and my usage climbs to 62%.
I can go back and view the layouts already opened marginally faster then when first opening them, and my RAM usage will not increase.
If I continue to open new layouts, my computer will spend all its RAM holding these and freeze. My computer will suspend graphical processing and be forced to run on sips of RAM until all active commands are finished. But RAM usage will never decrease.
I have been working with my Windows Task Manager open in the corner, watching this happen. This way, I can save and close the file to clear the RAM and then proceed to reload the file and continue working on my file with 34 layouts.
I do not know if it is a function of storing the UNDO functions, or just how the program is designed, but this is a problem for me.
QUESTION
Is there a way to clear the UNDO or layout memory without closing and reloading the file? I do not have to close AutoCAD - just the file.

I started with TM, browser, and AutoCAD open (I had already started writing this post)
I opened the file to the model.
Opened up 6 layouts (you can see the bumps)
Saved (you can see the tiny rise)
Closed the file, but not AutoCAD (precipitous drop ;] )
Lastly, I reloaded the file.

May 2, 2011I've been having this issue happen repeatedly, but not consistently. In a new file, I adjust the width of an mtext box so that the text wraps into multiple lines. When I next open the file, all mtext boxes are back at a wider width so that the text is all on one line. The start of the text is also usually in a different location. This was happening on 2011/XP and now on 2012/Windows7.

Aug 4, 2012I am trying to learn what can be done using HDR Toning in Photoshop CS5. At first I was impressed by its capabilities. I was working on a photograph of a train in a wooded valley in eary spring (before most leaves were out), with bright sunlight coming from almost straight overhead. So, the top of the train and the ballast in front of the train are very bright, the woods to the sides were shadowed, and the sides and nose of the train were in deep shadow. HDR Toning seemed to be giving me very nice control over adjusting the various tones. But when I closed the HDR Toning window, PhotoShop thought for a couple of seconds, and then changed my image, making it much darker than it was when the window was open!
What's going on here? Is this expected behavior? How can I get HDR Toning to keep my photograph from changing after I close the window?

Oct 31, 2007When pressing Ctrl + Alt + shift a menu pops up for Scratch Disc preferences. and there are 4 drop down menus with the labels First, Second, third, and fourth. The First drop down has options "Startup" and "C:". The other 3 have "none" and "C:". I'm not sure on what to do to correct this frustrating error. I have Already changed the first to the C drive. and tried many combinations still doesnt work.
