Nov 2, 2012In preparing photos imported from iphoto for a book, I've learned how to change the ppi and format, but when I try to move on I find I don't know how to save and close out of editing a photo. The photos either have red "edit in progress" bands, or multiple copies, or both.Â

Jan 6, 2011I started using GIMP on a PC a couple of months ago after developing skills in PS over the years on my Macs at home and at work.
I like GIMP and it's stable nature along with everything else... in addition to allot of standard photo editing and graphics creation, I recently used it for some of the animation filters, which are nice.
The only problem I'm having is that when I create a path, or multiple paths, and have them in the paths palette, after I save and close the file that contains the paths, the next time I open that file my paths are gone... completely disappeared.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Saving Automatically When Closing File?
Apr 12, 2013AutoCAD 2013, 60-90 days into it, upgraded from 2007.
I have 2 of 4 workstations with this issue, AutoCAD will automtically save the file when the files is closed, w/o any prompts to verify of we want to saved or not.
I have my Options|Autosave turned off, but this should not affect the save on close it should only create a continual ac$ backup file.
This is now the 2nd time this has occured. In early March we noticed this and in dealing with AutoCAD (Suscription Service) we finally deceided to restore AutoCAD to factory defaults, which did fix the issue at the time. However it also meant that I needed to retore all the pathways and our standards. Once completed, I paid particular attention to ensuring that AutoCAD was NOT saving the file on close and it was doing so up until earlier this week, when I noticed it SAVING on close again.
Now most of you might think, hey thats a good thing, however, we routinely will test modifications to our layouts on our working files, but dont want to actually modify those files and then we would simply close the drawing w/o saving thus ensuring that those mods were not saved.
In March, both 2007 & 2013 did this, however only my 2013 is affected now.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Closing Active File Without Saving?
Mar 27, 2013Trying to create a bit of code that when the 'OnNew Document' event is fired the code checks for a particular Custom Property. Depending on what the Custom Property is set to a form is then fired with relevant text to point the user to a specific area in the workspace. Al this works ok.
But if they press cancel i need the code close the activate 'Part1' which inturn then allows the user to select 'New' to begin again.
I have tried various scenarios but the main problem is that Inventor then crashes!

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Corrupted CDR - File Won't Open After Saving And Closing It?
Mar 11, 2012I know this happens sometimes when a file won't open after saving and closing it. Usually I can open the backup file with just some lost work, but not this time. Problem is this time it happened with a file I spend a long time working on. I tried unzipping and opening riffData.cdr with no luck. I've uploaded the file. It is a complex drawing with over 20 pages including vector and bitmap objects.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Mtext Column Width - Placement Changing After Saving / Closing File
May 2, 2011I've been having this issue happen repeatedly, but not consistently. In a new file, I adjust the width of an mtext box so that the text wraps into multiple lines. When I next open the file, all mtext boxes are back at a wider width so that the text is all on one line. The start of the text is also usually in a different location. This was happening on 2011/XP and now on 2012/Windows7.

Aug 4, 2012I am trying to learn what can be done using HDR Toning in Photoshop CS5. At first I was impressed by its capabilities. I was working on a photograph of a train in a wooded valley in eary spring (before most leaves were out), with bright sunlight coming from almost straight overhead. So, the top of the train and the ballast in front of the train are very bright, the woods to the sides were shadowed, and the sides and nose of the train were in deep shadow. HDR Toning seemed to be giving me very nice control over adjusting the various tones. But when I closed the HDR Toning window, PhotoShop thought for a couple of seconds, and then changed my image, making it much darker than it was when the window was open!Â

What's going on here? Is this expected behavior? How can I get HDR Toning to keep my photograph from changing after I close the window?

Oct 31, 2007When pressing Ctrl + Alt + shift a menu pops up for Scratch Disc preferences. and there are 4 drop down menus with the labels First, Second, third, and fourth. The First drop down has options "Startup" and "C:". The other 3 have "none" and "C:". I'm not sure on what to do to correct this frustrating error. I have Already changed the first to the C drive. and tried many combinations still doesnt work.

Aug 29, 2008=Photoshop 7 keeps closing suddenly on me. It only happens when I try to open or save files in a certain folder, I think. The weird thing is I moved that folder out of the folder that it is inside, to the desktop, and then I could save and open files in that folder just fine. Then when I cut and pasted it back into that folder the same problem happens. I've tried using a registry repair program, and done a virus scan, and nothing.

Feb 24, 2012I've just upgraded to CS5 from Elements, boy what a difference! I've hit a problem when I want to close the photos that I've edited. when I've processed them I want to save them as either TIFF or JPEG files.

I've been to File>Scripts>Image processor which allows me to convert the files and send them to a folder of my choice - albeit in a sub folder. But, and it's a big but, the original RAW files remain open, and have to be manually closed one by one. After a big shoot this will be PIA.

I've also looked at File>Automate>Batch. This will process my photos, but on every alternate one I get a message saying that the "Feather" function is not working, and that photo is not processed, so i only get 50% saved. In addition they can only be saved in the original folder so I finish up with both RAW and processed files. Then I have to do a tidy up exercise.

What can I do? The first option seems the best if there was some way in which the processed files could be closed. I've told to create an action, but it doesn't tell me how to do it. I'm also told that I can download some actions in addition to the default actions, but again I'm not told what these are, or where they can be found.

All I need is to close multiple files that I've worked on and converted to my chosen storage format.
Photoshop :: CS6 Not Closing Process (EXE) After Shutdown?
Jul 27, 2012I have this strange problem with processes that are not stopping Because it is not stopping i cant open photoshop on a later time hours later because the program thiks it is running on the background somewhere i cant find it. After terminating the process photoshop.exe and retry it opens again.

Dec 27, 2003When I use Adboe 7.0 with Nikon coolscan IV 3.0 software I run into a problem (it does not occur all the time). I will scan from 5-50 slides and then when I am done I close the Nikon scanner and it closes Adobe as well.
I can reboot turn on the scanner before opening Adobe and sometimes that works or sometimes I open Adobe and then turn on the scanner and that works sometimes. Is there a patch? or am I just trying too hard?

I have to re-open them again from there, I want to STOP THEM from closing when I go to desktop or somewhere else. I want them to stay afloat. I know I can click Ctrl + mouse and "restore all windows" but that is also a nuisance because it resized my PS window and I have to push up teh layers palette again.

Dec 23, 2004To my surprise I noticed that Photoshop's default shapes like rectangle, triangle, diamond, etc are not closed shapes. Strange, because who wants to pull a corner and then discover that it's actually two points on top of each other?

When I use save or save as, to save the edited picture both the edited and original appear in the files. If I start in in Photo Editor and save there is an option to uncheck that reads "Save in version set with Original" However I am more comfortable with beginning in Instant Fix and then switching to photo editor.
