On a PC with XP.Recently cs5.1 extended started closing by itself after being open for just a few minutes.Upgrade to cs6 today and the same thing happened: Opened photoshop, created a .psd file, added color and text, left the program and it closed by itself.
I am running a Vista Home Premium 64 bit os.I previously installed Photoshop CS4 Extended and was running fine.Today it comes up with the following message and closes down when I click okay. The specified module could not be found.C:Program Files (x86) Common FilesAdobeAdobe Version CueCS4Client4.0.1VersionCueDLL Can anyone help? I tried reinstalling Photoshop with no luck. I also have 2 program files in Windows Explorer. The first is named Program Files and the 2nd is named Program Files (x86)Does anyone know why it has 2 Program Files?
I am trying to learn what can be done using HDR Toning in Photoshop CS5. At first I was impressed by its capabilities. I was working on a photograph of a train in a wooded valley in eary spring (before most leaves were out), with bright sunlight coming from almost straight overhead. So, the top of the train and the ballast in front of the train are very bright, the woods to the sides were shadowed, and the sides and nose of the train were in deep shadow. HDR Toning seemed to be giving me very nice control over adjusting the various tones. But when I closed the HDR Toning window, PhotoShop thought for a couple of seconds, and then changed my image, making it much darker than it was when the window was open!  What's going on here? Is this expected behavior? How can I get HDR Toning to keep my photograph from changing after I close the window?
When pressing Ctrl + Alt + shift a menu pops up for Scratch Disc preferences. and there are 4 drop down menus with the labels First, Second, third, and fourth. The First drop down has options "Startup" and "C:". The other 3 have "none" and "C:". I'm not sure on what to do to correct this frustrating error. I have Already changed the first to the C drive. and tried many combinations still doesnt work.
=Photoshop 7 keeps closing suddenly on me. It only happens when I try to open or save files in a certain folder, I think. The weird thing is I moved that folder out of the folder that it is inside, to the desktop, and then I could save and open files in that folder just fine. Then when I cut and pasted it back into that folder the same problem happens. I've tried using a registry repair program, and done a virus scan, and nothing.
I've just upgraded to CS5 from Elements, boy what a difference! I've hit a problem when I want to close the photos that I've edited. when I've processed them I want to save them as either TIFF or JPEG files. Â I've been to File>Scripts>Image processor which allows me to convert the files and send them to a folder of my choice - albeit in a sub folder. But, and it's a big but, the original RAW files remain open, and have to be manually closed one by one. After a big shoot this will be PIA. Â I've also looked at File>Automate>Batch. This will process my photos, but on every alternate one I get a message saying that the "Feather" function is not working, and that photo is not processed, so i only get 50% saved. In addition they can only be saved in the original folder so I finish up with both RAW and processed files. Then I have to do a tidy up exercise. Â What can I do? The first option seems the best if there was some way in which the processed files could be closed. I've told to create an action, but it doesn't tell me how to do it. I'm also told that I can download some actions in addition to the default actions, but again I'm not told what these are, or where they can be found. Â All I need is to close multiple files that I've worked on and converted to my chosen storage format.
I have this strange problem with processes that are not stopping Because it is not stopping i cant open photoshop on a later time hours later because the program thiks it is running on the background somewhere i cant find it. After terminating the process photoshop.exe and retry it opens again.
I keep receiving a error message when closing PS CS6 which says "Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working". What can I do to resolve this issue? I'm running Windows Vista professional.
In Photoshop Extended CS6, when closing a document, once the document has closed you are now left with a great big empty workspace, which also has to be closed to remove it from the screen - and it won;t close with a keyboard shortcut, it has to be closed by the mouse. Is there a way to either close this empty workspace by keyboard shortcut or to not have it appear once a document is closed?
When I use Adboe 7.0 with Nikon coolscan IV 3.0 software I run into a problem (it does not occur all the time). I will scan from 5-50 slides and then when I am done I close the Nikon scanner and it closes Adobe as well.
I can reboot turn on the scanner before opening Adobe and sometimes that works or sometimes I open Adobe and then turn on the scanner and that works sometimes. Is there a patch? or am I just trying too hard?
When I am working with various pictures in PS, I have like 10 open and every time I go out of photoshop and come back, they have all closed down to the docking window. I have to re-open them again from there, I want to STOP THEM from closing when I go to desktop or somewhere else. I want them to stay afloat. I know I can click Ctrl + mouse and "restore all windows" but that is also a nuisance because it resized my PS window and I have to push up teh layers palette again.
My CS5 keeps closing seconds after I open it. I don't even have to try and open a file. It just closes down. No warning, no errors, nothing! It was working fine two days ago. I'd rather not be forced to uninstall as I've got effect plugins that I use and that have custom settings.
When I use the image processor from Bridge, I specify that I want it to process the images selected in Bridge, save as a PSD and run a set of actions.Â
The files do get saved to a PSD folder, but they do not get closed, so they all remain open. This slows the process down dramatically and it used to close them all, as it should.Â
When I close a large document Photoshop does not release the memory. If I open another document the program is slow and not resposive. If I close out of Photoshop and restart it then load the other document it is quick and responsive again.
I've recently been working with a large, simple drawing in which I am trying to separate the different shapes into their own layers. I've been using the polygonal lasso tool, and my plan is to select the desired shapes and "right-click > layer via copy." However, twice already has the lasso selection closed by itself before I could complete the selection.
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS3 on a Dell Windows Vista platform.
To my surprise I noticed that Photoshop's default shapes like rectangle, triangle, diamond, etc are not closed shapes. Strange, because who wants to pull a corner and then discover that it's actually two points on top of each other?
Is there a quick way to close them without removing the last anchor point and then connecting the 2nd last point with the first one?
In preparing photos imported from iphoto for a book, I've learned how to change the ppi and format, but when I try to move on I find I don't know how to save and close out of editing a photo. The photos either have red "edit in progress" bands, or multiple copies, or both.  I don't know where to save them, either.
I've just bought CS6 (yesterday); everything works fine until I click to open liquify, when I get a message saying that CS6 'is not responding', and it immediately closes down.
Using Photoshop CC 14.1.2 I notice that I no longer see the vector control handle when I close a path. I hope this is a bug, and not an intended UI change. Visualizing the control wing is an important feature for accuracy etc.
While on the subject of lost functionality, in earlier PS versions when a fill layer was created, the alpha mask was active by default. This allowed for immediate alteration of the mask. Now the default is to have the fill active, which makes less sense as the fill is mostly intended to not be edited directly. Sounds like a quible, but in a fast production setting, this adds an unnecessary step, which did not exist in an earlier iteration. Â Also, many generations ago, (in a distant century) there was a "turn off path" button -which could be given a keyboard shortcut via actions. Could never understand why this disappeared. Now, turning off a pth requires that the pen tool be selected & hit ESC or to click into a blank area in the path pallette -which may not exist when many paths have been created. I see there is now a keyboard shortcut for this, but it is buried in the key commands list. So much easier to have that little button (and custom key option) Again, is a busy prodcution workflow, this is a speedbump.
Are there any keyboard shortcuts for twirling folder groups open/closed? Â Would be nice if there was a command when I have a group selected that would unfold all nested folders to make all layers viewable.
Closing Photoshop CC seems to deletes all my files in and only in the Documents folder. The exact steps of what I did can be viewed here: URL.....This only happens to Ps, any other Adobe softwares will not cause this. I am 100% sure that it is the closing event that causes the deletion. After reading URL.. I tried to turn off the antivirus, reinstall Ps and creative cloud, but nothing worked for me. I also tried both 32 bit and 64 bit version, but both produced the same problem. This problem only comes up in Windows 8.1 and not Windows 8. Â it is to change the folder name, but then I have to change the settings for other softwares which uses that folders and this is just stupid, I want a more robust solution and the cause. The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling the OS. Â My PC info: OS:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Windows 8.1 Pro (64 bit) Processor:Â Intel i5-4430 3.0GHz RAM:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 1600MHz 8GB (dual-channel) HDD:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 120GB SSD GPU:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â GTX 660
In Photoshop CS5: when you closed an image, you'd automatically go back to Bridge, where you could open the next image. Â Now you close an image, and you stay in Photoshop with a blank screen. Â You have to go to the dock, and click Bridge. Â How can I get the CS5 way back, so I don't have to do two unnecessary steps each time?
In photoshop when you left click with an intuos/bamboo pen it brings up the brush tool window. Â Is there a hotkey to close this window? I have been clicking to top of photoshops toolbar to close the brush window, but I would thing there is a hotkey to dismiss it on the keyboard. Â See the image below to illustrate the menu in question.
When I create a LIVE SHAPE in Photoshop CC edit the corners etc, close the file and then reopen at another stage, the ability to change the LIVE SHAPE properties has disappeared.
I have Adobe CS4 for macs. Just today, every time I enclose an area with my polygonal lasso tool, it stopped closing the area and instead gives me the message "No pixels are more than 50% selected.
The selected edges will not be visible." I must have accidentally pressed something by mistake that makes the lasso tool not work anymore but I don't know what. Do I need to reset Photoshop? Any ways to reset it? I tried holding option, command shift but it still did not reset my Photoshop to its original settings.I also rebooted my computer several times with no success.
