View 2 RepliesAre there any keyboard shortcuts for twirling folder groups open/closed?
Â
Would be nice if there was a command when I have a group selected that would unfold all nested folders to make all layers viewable.
Have tried at least three different key combos using workspace, keyboard shortcuts.Have set them up successfully but they don't seem to want to close tab groups.I have set up other special keyboard shortcuts (like flatten image) which work great
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just discovered survey figure groups and am playing around with them. Great way to bring certain figures in & out. What seems crazy is that I have to check them on/off one at a time. Am I missing something or is this the only way to add figures to a figure group?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just learned (after 16 years...) that it's been possible to drill down through successive compound objects within groups without using the new V7 feature "Edit inside".
I'd always used Ctrl+Click within a group to select the object in it I want, but could never select just a group that was within--only a single object. But apparently Ctrl+Click is only intended to select the bottom-most (leaf) object of the group (tree). If instead you use Ctrl+Alt+Click, you can click through each level of a group.
So for example if you made two groups of 3 objects and then grouped the two groups together, you can select the whole group first, then one of the other groups within, then one of the objects within that group.
I can't believe I didn't know this. Shows what I know. And what amazes me more is that I didn't figure it out given that you can Alt+Click to select through overlapping objects.
Is there a way to add a keyboard shortcut or marking menu shortcut for visibility? It would be really convenient to be able to shift-click several objects and toggle the visibility of them. I have a mouse with numerous buttons that are mapped to commonly used IV features, but I cannot find a way to map a visibility toggle.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to learn what can be done using HDR Toning in Photoshop CS5. At first I was impressed by its capabilities. I was working on a photograph of a train in a wooded valley in eary spring (before most leaves were out), with bright sunlight coming from almost straight overhead. So, the top of the train and the ballast in front of the train are very bright, the woods to the sides were shadowed, and the sides and nose of the train were in deep shadow. HDR Toning seemed to be giving me very nice control over adjusting the various tones. But when I closed the HDR Toning window, PhotoShop thought for a couple of seconds, and then changed my image, making it much darker than it was when the window was open!Â
Â
What's going on here? Is this expected behavior? How can I get HDR Toning to keep my photograph from changing after I close the window?
I had this issue twice already when closing files without saving expecting to ask me what to do with the file of course. But it didn't ask a thing.

The First drop down has options "Startup" and "C:". The other 3 have "none" and "C:". I'm not sure on what to do to correct this frustrating error. I have Already changed the first to the C drive. and tried many combinations still doesnt work.
View 2 Replies View Related=Photoshop 7 keeps closing suddenly on me. It only happens when I try to open or save files in a certain folder, I think. The weird thing is I moved that folder out of the folder that it is inside, to the desktop, and then I could save and open files in that folder just fine. Then when I cut and pasted it back into that folder the same problem happens. I've tried using a registry repair program, and done a virus scan, and nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to CS5 from Elements, boy what a difference! I've hit a problem when I want to close the photos that I've edited. when I've processed them I want to save them as either TIFF or JPEG files.
Â
I've been to File>Scripts>Image processor which allows me to convert the files and send them to a folder of my choice - albeit in a sub folder. But, and it's a big but, the original RAW files remain open, and have to be manually closed one by one. After a big shoot this will be PIA.
Â
I've also looked at File>Automate>Batch. This will process my photos, but on every alternate one I get a message saying that the "Feather" function is not working, and that photo is not processed, so i only get 50% saved. In addition they can only be saved in the original folder so I finish up with both RAW and processed files. Then I have to do a tidy up exercise.
Â
What can I do? The first option seems the best if there was some way in which the processed files could be closed. I've told to create an action, but it doesn't tell me how to do it. I'm also told that I can download some actions in addition to the default actions, but again I'm not told what these are, or where they can be found.
Â
All I need is to close multiple files that I've worked on and converted to my chosen storage format.
I have this strange problem with processes that are not stopping Because it is not stopping i cant open photoshop on a later time hours later because the program thiks it is running on the background somewhere i cant find it. After terminating the process photoshop.exe and retry it opens again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop Extended CS6, when closing a document, once the document has closed you are now left with a great big empty workspace, which also has to be closed to remove it from the screen - and it won;t close with a keyboard shortcut, it has to be closed by the mouse. Is there a way to either close this empty workspace by keyboard shortcut or to not have it appear once a document is closed?

I can reboot turn on the scanner before opening Adobe and sometimes that works or sometimes I open Adobe and then turn on the scanner and that works sometimes. Is there a patch? or am I just trying too hard?

I have to re-open them again from there, I want to STOP THEM from closing when I go to desktop or somewhere else. I want them to stay afloat. I know I can click Ctrl + mouse and "restore all windows" but that is also a nuisance because it resized my PS window and I have to push up teh layers palette again.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the image processor from Bridge, I specify that I want it to process the images selected in Bridge, save as a PSD and run a set of actions.Â
The files do get saved to a PSD folder, but they do not get closed, so they all remain open. This slows the process down dramatically and it used to close them all, as it should.Â
When I'm working in bridge transering files from one folder to another after a few transfers it closed down and I have to re open it again in PS.

I've been using the polygonal lasso tool, and my plan is to select the desired shapes and "right-click > layer via copy." However, twice already has the lasso selection closed by itself before I could complete the selection.
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS3 on a Dell Windows Vista platform.
To my surprise I noticed that Photoshop's default shapes like rectangle, triangle, diamond, etc are not closed shapes. Strange, because who wants to pull a corner and then discover that it's actually two points on top of each other?
Is there a quick way to close them without removing the last anchor point and then connecting the 2nd last point with the first one?
In preparing photos imported from iphoto for a book, I've learned how to change the ppi and format, but when I try to move on I find I don't know how to save and close out of editing a photo. The photos either have red "edit in progress" bands, or multiple copies, or both.Â
Â
I don't know where to save them, either.
My son has Elements 9 and it keeps closing down midway through a project, saying it's not responding.

see picture:
I have a group called: "Hele akvarier" " where I have used "Create new fill adjustment layer" - "Brightness / Contrast" to the layers which are under. (Layer 2, Original Copy, Original).Over is there are two layers named "Layer 3, Layer 1". These layers, I also need to use the "Brightness / Contrast" to they're going to look right, but the top "adjustment layer" affects all the layers under.
Â
How do I get my layers divided into two groups, each with its "adjustment layer" to use each with its own settings?
