Photoshop :: Stop Floating Tabs From Closing In CS6?
Oct 27, 2013
When I am working with various pictures in PS, I have like 10 open and every time I go out of photoshop and come back, they have all closed down to the docking window. I have to re-open them again from there, I want to STOP THEM from closing when I go to desktop or somewhere else. I want them to stay afloat. I know I can click Ctrl + mouse and "restore all windows" but that is also a nuisance because it resized my PS window and I have to push up teh layers palette again.
I'm trying to change the tabs on a paragraph of text but my tab window floats. I need it to be tied to the block of text. At the moment, if I move across the page, the tab window will no longer be above the text I'm trying to edit.
I've just bought CS6 (yesterday); everything works fine until I click to open liquify, when I get a message saying that CS6 'is not responding', and it immediately closes down.
I have Adobe CS4 for macs. Just today, every time I enclose an area with my polygonal lasso tool, it stopped closing the area and instead gives me the message "No pixels are more than 50% selected.
The selected edges will not be visible." I must have accidentally pressed something by mistake that makes the lasso tool not work anymore but I don't know what. Do I need to reset Photoshop? Any ways to reset it? I tried holding option, command shift but it still did not reset my Photoshop to its original settings.I also rebooted my computer several times with no success.
I am using PS 5. when I have an image open and then open a new image, it appears as a tab in the same space as the first image, is there something in preferences that would let me open new images so they don't open in a tab?
I save a lot of files to "save for web". After saving PS asks if I want to save changes to the original file. I never want to save the changes to the original. Since the default is to change the file I am afraid I will accidentally OK the change without wanting to. I would like it to stop asking and just not save it. Is there a way?
How do I get Photoshop to open with floating windows and the histogram in compact RGB mode? I have to reset this every time I open a new photo. I can't believe how hard it is to change modes in the histogram.I have to undock it, change it to expanded view, change the mode, change it back to compact view and redock it. This made sense to someone? I tried saving the workspace.
I have a photo on my first layer and want to add "call outs" to it. In other words, I want to draw lines from each part of the photograph to a description of what the viewer's looking at.  But the only way I can figure out how to do it is to add one call out to each layer, so I end up with 10 layers, one for each call out. Is there anyway to add all of these on to one layer while retaining the ability to move them around separately?
i have photoshop CS6 in a mac os x operative system and when i drag one image from the tabs to make it as a floating window in order to keep that image as a reference for the painting that i am working on, that floating window disappears behind my PS CS6 window like if it was part of another program when i click out of it, why is this happening.
I want to keep that floating window open all the time by the file that i working on.
I am trying to find where to turn on the floating menu boxes in Photoshop CS. Right now I have the tools, color swatches and navigator, but want the layer toolbox. I know I can go to the pulldown menu to select layers, but it is much easer to use the floating box to select my between my different layers.
Why is it that my document windows float on top of my palettes. Selecting the palettes doesnt bring to the front either. I have to move that window out of the way and them go back to my current document. This is very annoying and a major issue if its not fixable other than going back to tabbed windows?
Floating photos in Elements11, how I can keep them in the workspace like elements 6 really annoying when looking under photoshop and seeing the photo blocks my desktop or something simular or even blocks the tools bar opions at the bottom, which also seems far to big any way in making that smaller or putting it at the top like elements 6 .. ( think I may just go back tho that 6 )
I’m editing an image in Elements 11 and have accidentally gotten myself into a mode that I don’t understand and so far have not been able to extract myself from. I want to clone an item from the image. I select the Clone Stamp tool and suddenly I have a second floating duplicate of the image which gets dragged around every time I move the cursor. How do I get rid of this second floating image?
How can I get rid of the annoying floating commit/reject button when I am typing in text. It always seems to be in the way. I'd like to be able to type without the window showing up or be able to move it out of the way.
I have an image open in Photoshop, rulers visible on 2 sides. I pulled out the bottom right hand side (as I look at the screen) to have the image float in the background. Normally my background is grey, but suddenly it's turned to blue.
how this happened - what I unknowingly hit - but neither can I work out how to return to grey.
In expert mode under the Layaout Tab at the bottom of the screen I can see seven options for layoutas of up to four pictures - all work except the "all floating" option which remins greyed out - what do I do to bring it into use - it is probably the most useful option !Â
1st Bug:Iam using a HP Z6100PS 60in plotter and when Iam using page setup to print something, it keeps using the default print size... For exemple : Â Printer default print size : 24x60
I want to print a 80x60 but Photoshop send a 24x60 to the printer... even if I entered 80x60... And the bug is for any sizes... Â Â 2nd bug:My Windows 7 64bits Taskbar is at the top of my screen. All the documents iam opening in Photoshop are snapping to the top of the screen... super annoying. But when I place the Win Taskbar at the bottom of the screen, no more bug...
I could do this in earlier versions, but it doesn't seem to work in Photoshop CS-6. How do U reposition a floating dock in CS6 so it is anchored to the upper right edge of the window?
In Illustrator CS6 - Cloud - there's an annoying box floating above my canvas in the upper left hand corner. It is a transparent fill with a black stroke and a dark outer glow.  I've tried turning off every palette and window view, yet it still appears "above" the canvas window. It goes away when the application loses focus but then returns after the application is brought to the foreground. This has to be a bug?  Mac Lion + Macbook Pro + 8GB + CS6 Cloud + Illustrator  Screen Captures attached...
My locked viewport floats horizontally, all of the time. It does it on all my drawings. Is there a fix for this phenomenon? Is AutoCAD planning on fixing this?
Is there a way to have the new NEX tools window undocked when starting up Maya? I can undock it after Maya 2014 starts. But I'd like to have it this way on launch. Currently it reverts back.
Somehow, in some way, I created a floating toobar for the layers manager. When I click on the layers property button, a "floating" version of it appears. I can close it, dock it, auto-hide it, etc., but can't get rid of it permanently.
I'm using LT 2011, which feels odd after two decades of running the "full strength" versions.
I have a dwg that when dimensioned (or when inserting new text) the dimensions are off the 0 axis on the z. The only reason I think that, is it looks blurry till I flatten it(checked the properties before flattening and it says 0). What I don't understand is why its still happening after the whole drawing has been flattened.
I want to stretch the content of a floating selection to fulfill a path completely. For example, in the image below, how to automatically scale/distort/stretch etc... all pixels inside yellow antline to make it fit to the circle path outside.
On a PC with XP.Recently cs5.1 extended started closing by itself after being open for just a few minutes.Upgrade to cs6 today and the same thing happened: Opened photoshop, created a .psd file, added color and text, left the program and it closed by itself.
I am running a Vista Home Premium 64 bit os.I previously installed Photoshop CS4 Extended and was running fine.Today it comes up with the following message and closes down when I click okay. The specified module could not be found.C:Program Files (x86) Common FilesAdobeAdobe Version CueCS4Client4.0.1VersionCueDLL Can anyone help? I tried reinstalling Photoshop with no luck. I also have 2 program files in Windows Explorer. The first is named Program Files and the 2nd is named Program Files (x86)Does anyone know why it has 2 Program Files?
I have Pro X4 ultimate. Sommes filters transition 3 D like cube floating don't work. I have reinstall many time but the result is the same. The others filters are OK.
