I’m editing an image in Elements 11 and have accidentally gotten myself into a mode that I don’t understand and so far have not been able to extract myself from. I want to clone an item from the image. I select the Clone Stamp tool and suddenly I have a second floating duplicate of the image which gets dragged around every time I move the cursor. How do I get rid of this second floating image?

In PSE11 the clone tool with the aligned option creates a duplicate of the whole image instead of just the brush area.

how this happened - what I unknowingly hit - but neither can I work out how to return to grey.
How can I get rid of the annoying floating commit/reject button when I am typing in text. It always seems to be in the way. I'd like to be able to type without the window showing up or be able to move it out of the way.

when I work on my images, I always duplicate it as soon as I open it then close the original (working on the dup) so as to keep the original untouched.
My friend open his original then save as, and keep on working, saving a copy?

In CS3 I would duplicate an image in order to soft-proof before printing. By going from full to partial screen I could then identify both original and duplicates and could pull them into adjacent positions. In CS6 that doesn't work How do I separate my two images and place them next to each other?

I think I have over 20,000 photos and they are taking up too much space. I tried using a duplicate file remover and it removed several thousand, but I still see many duplicates when I run photoshop elements 11. I am tempted to not use the organizer any more and just rely on a folder browser.

Why isn't there a function that finds photos with the same filenames and date/time? That way you could easily delete the duplicates.

Also, I have not been able to register my product (I purchased it about a week ago. There is no serial number on the box or on the envelope the disc came in nor is it on the disc itself. I have recently used back up for the first time whislt replacing my computer and moving to Windows 7. I now have different pictures with the same file name on the back up drive (F:) and the computer hardrive (C:). When I click on a picture the picture inOrgnaiser appears and then qickly disappers and the second picture with the same file nane appears. The first to appear is that on the C drive the second is that on the F drive, the back up drive.
