Photoshop Elements :: 11 - How To Avoid Duplicate Photo Uploads On Mac
Jan 26, 2013
Select a "Do not show duplicates" box in Preferences that doesn't seem to exist with my Mac version. How do I force Elements 11 to ignore photos I've already uploaded?
How do you avoid importing same file (Picture) from camera to Organizer more than once? I am in the habit of keeping pictures in my camera for a longer period of time. This is easy to control using Picasa - but what about Elements11?
I'm working on a business card but every time I try to upload it to vista print the design is blurry. I can't figure out why. It looks fine on my computer. I'm also using their custom design template so the dimensions and stuff are fine. I would try the psd but the psd file is too big. Anyway to shrink it? I've tried JPEG, png, and eps so far.
When I go to import photos from my external drive into lightroom 5 i am unable to select any of the photos because it says that "this appears to be a duplicate of another photo in the catalog" . This means I may have imported them previously but I cannot find where i imported them to. Is there any way that i can find the photo in the catalog? When i click on Library and Find and search for any of the file names it none of them ever come up. I can uncheck "Don't import suspected duplicates" but i would rather make sure that i did my best to look for the previous import.
After getting a bit of a nagging from the in laws I got round to cataloguing the last few months photos to upload the pics of the kids.
When I go to upload to flickr it will publish two images then crash and the cycle repeats - having a few hundreds to upload there is no way on earth I'm going to babysit Lightroom while it does this.
I'm using jFlickr and have the most up to date version - although I was reluctant to mention this as I half suspect my issue will now be shelved using this as a get out - but frankly Adobe's offering is poor and presumes you've just started with Flickr.
The OS is Windows 8.1 64bit - LR 5.3 (same results on 5.1 and 5.2)
Is it possible to set up a view in CPaintX5 with identical 'live' versions of an entire image or even just an object with the purpose of being able to work on either version with them set at different zoom levels, for example a 'wide shot' and a 'big close up'. I seem to recall that older versions of PSP had this facility as standard in a toggled pair of floating tabs called Preview and Image Info or some such. (I haven't used PSP for years so I might well be remembering incorrectly). It feels like it should be such a simple thing to do but it is eluding me. Of course it would be of most use as a standard feature of the Cut Out Lab but alas, no.
I’m editing an image in Elements 11 and have accidentally gotten myself into a mode that I don’t understand and so far have not been able to extract myself from. I want to clone an item from the image. I select the Clone Stamp tool and suddenly I have a second floating duplicate of the image which gets dragged around every time I move the cursor. How do I get rid of this second floating image?
Something has caused my screen to display several duplicate pictures on top of the pic I am editing. I think it is probably in my settings somewhere but I cant find it.
I have somwhow created two tags for the same person in my database, and am trying to merge the people together (and also if possible merge the two lots of photos of the person together).
Elements 8. I have over 13,000 photo's in my catalog. How can I delete all of the duplicate photo's? This would dramaticly reduce my catalog size making it much faster and easier to use.
I have been using many versions of photoshop elements and edited many of my files. So, now I have very many duplicates, near duplicates, and versions of the same photo. I think I have over 20,000 photos and they are taking up too much space. I tried using a duplicate file remover and it removed several thousand, but I still see many duplicates when I run photoshop elements 11. I am tempted to not use the organizer any more and just rely on a folder browser.
I imported about 2600 pictures from iPhoto to Elements 11 on my iMac OS 10.8.2. Now there are hundreds of duplicates; deleting one at a time is a real pain. Can I identify and bulk delete duplicates in Elements 11?
I have photoshop elements 11 and want to know how to take the same photo and duplicate it three times next to eachother in the same frame and then be able to enhance the photos separately
I have multiple duplicate photos in my Photoshop Element 10 catalog - I have run across the compare a photo tutorials but I have possiblely some 200+ photos that are duplicates. Any simpler way to remove duplicate photos?
is there any way to delete duplicate photos in batches rather than individually?
Also, I have not been able to register my product (I purchased it about a week ago. There is no serial number on the box or on the envelope the disc came in nor is it on the disc itself. I've tried contacting support but when I click on the link that tells me there is an agent available, nothing happens.
I have recently used back up for the first time whislt replacing my computer and moving to Windows 7. I now have different pictures with the same file name on the back up drive (F:) and the computer hardrive (C:). When I click on a picture the picture inOrgnaiser appears and then qickly disappers and the second picture with the same file nane appears. The first to appear is that on the C drive the second is that on the F drive, the back up drive.
How can I merge duplicate tags from facial recognition in Photoshop Elements 11? For example, if I mistakenly created two tags, both called Bill, how can I put all Bill's pictures in one file? I found an answer for previous editions of Photoshop Elements, but Photoshop Elements 11 has changed the organizer so I can't figure out how to do it. Also, it doesn't seem possible to see two sets of tags at the same time - is this a glitch?
I'm using Elements Organizer 11.0 with Windows 8. These temp files have been a problem in at least the previous three versions of PSE with the previous three versions of Windows.
Scenario: Suspiciously low on disk space Problem: Found thousands of duplicate image files in Windows temp folder (ex. C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalTemp)
PSE creates these files and never deletes them AFAICS after exiting the program, rebooting, using the Windows 'Disk Cleanup' utility, optimizing the catalog, etc. I found no user preference for deleting temp files or limiting them to a particular size.
These can be created for many reasons, but one sure way to do this is to choose File>Save Metada to Files. (If you don't have any images selected it will attempt to do this for all files displayed.) In my case it makes a duplicate of my 29MB CR2 file and a backup of the associated 4KB XMP file. I've used Windows' fc.exe utility to verify that the CR2 is exactly the same, byte for byte.
Is PSE designed to leave these around for us to clean up after they consume the entire hard disk? Am I missing something?
