View 2 RepliesHow do you avoid importing same file (Picture) from camera to Organizer more than once? I am in the habit of keeping pictures in my camera for a longer period of time. This is easy to control using Picasa - but what about Elements11?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.
I've had Elements 11 for some time and can't use it as I can't seem to find a way to import an existing folder structure of images. It imports it flat, with every subfolder and parent folder listed on the same level, so my organisation is shot to hell. I'm sure it's me being dumb, (but in fact it's Elements being incredibly un-intuitive) but how to import an existing folder structure with many images, retaining the structure after import? Actually thinking about it, I can barely remember how to import at all, I found it quite difficult to achieve and I think I might have drag and dropped some files?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI restarted Windows 7 while elements 12 was open and now almost half of my pictures folders and their contents are gone. Not on the hard drive or in the recycle bin. I got to get them back.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI tired importing photos from one folder and about 300-400 of them weren't imported (out of about 1,000). I deleted them and tried again. Same thing. On the third try it imported all of them.My thought was maybe it's going to take more time importing images from my folders than learning to use the program. I can't learn the program if it keeps dropping images. I tried another directory of about 3,000 images but it only accepted about 300 of them. No matter how many times I tried, it would only import 300 out of the whole batch. These are good jpg files that all my other programs have no trouble with.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I import 3500 photos in 12 folders to stay in their 12 folders when imported so I don't have to do that work all over again? I am not familiar with PSE at all so haven't imported my photos (with thumb drive) not knowing what will happen when I do!

View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night I purchased Elements 12 online. Prior to my purchase, I chatted with an Adobe techie to make sure Elements 12 would properly overwrite/remove Elements 9 currently on my computer and replace it with the Elements 12. I was assured this would be the case, it wasn't. Not only do I still have Elements 9 on my system but, when my pictures were transferred from Elements 9 to 12, they were all transferred as single thumbnail pictures instead of the Folders containing specific pictures. I don't relish the thought of creating new Folders and transfering close to a thousand pictures pertaining to a specific Folder that were in my Elements 9. Just wondering if the download of Elements 12 was really successful based upon what happened.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust a question about scaling and pixelation. I've been doing some 3D models in ZBrush at a 960x960 size, and wanting to scale them down to 48x48 size, very small icons for a game engine.
Anyway I started doing this with just normal scale in GIMP, but the picture just turned out like a big blur. With further investigation I found GIMP add-ons, Liquid Scale and Step Scale (I think that was it's name) where you can step down the scale of the picture and sharpen it during step downs etc.
Still not having much luck, I can get it to look better, but not good, still very pixelated and blurry. The required result I want is something along these lines - Picture
Using high res picture, I've tried PNG, GIF, PSD with not really much luck.
PS: Attached is the original model GIF and the resized picture.
I am using the trial version of Elements. I imported photos from my G drive, but it refuses to import the photos under the folder named "My Pictures". It sees the folder and subfolder, but not the pictures, even though it imported all of the photos under other folders, and imported the pictures in My Pictures under the C drive. Is there any way I can import the photos without renaming the folder?

I took the pictures with my Canon G9, but I also took video with my G9 and strangely enough the video will import and play. I do really like the Corel software and I am disappointed that this problem has occurred.

However, I am also using my DSLR for shooting video´s, which I edit with Final Cut Pro. Lightroom is _not_ a part of the video import/editing workflow, so I really do not want to have Lightroom import all videos in addition to all my photos.
How can I set up Lightroom so that it no longer import videos? My current workflow is tedious, and really not one I like: I import everything into Lightroom, and then manually delete all the video´s.
Importing images from specific folders is including images from outside selected folders.

Now, when I am editing a few days worth of pictures one after the other, I go to open the next file (picture) the computer takes me back to the top (first one listed) each time. Many times I am editing over 100 pictures in the file, and now have to scroll down each time and that takes forever. I have to remember what number picture I was on. In my earlier version, the compiter "held" the spot where I was so it was easy to select trhe next picture to edit.
