New installation of Photoshop Elements 6
I can import all the Picture files but they do not show up in folders. How can I import and keep current organization? Or, must I reorganize?
Is there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.
I have been exporting photos into a folder called edited in my originals folder. then i delete the originals and dump the edited into the main folder. but then i can no longer access the photos in lightroom because it says the file is missing. what am i doing wrong? do i have to keep originals and edited photos in my folders? i try to export to replace originals but that doesnt work and it will only work if i put in sub folder. i dont want to keep a copy of originals and edited, but i also dont want to not be able to make more edits in the future.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i import a DXF file into Illustrator created in AutoCAD, i have the problem that the positions of the elements (rectangles, circles etc.) are not on the exact position as created in AutoCAD. The variations are very minor (Centerposiotion of a element x 5mm y 5mm in AutoCad = x 4.969 y 4.949 after import in Illustrator). Sometimes the sizes of the elements variate also slightly (a line which is 102mm in AutoCAD is 101.99mm after import in Illustrator) but not generally.
I tried various files with different export versions from AutoCAD, including different measures such as mm to inch and points and so on. I tried also the different importing options in Illustrator. The closest i come is Centerposiotion of a element x 5mm y 5mm in AutoCad = x 4.969 y 4.949 but never exact. How to get a DXF file into illustrator by keeping every element in place and size?
I've had Elements 11 for some time and can't use it as I can't seem to find a way to import an existing folder structure of images. It imports it flat, with every subfolder and parent folder listed on the same level, so my organisation is shot to hell. I'm sure it's me being dumb, (but in fact it's Elements being incredibly un-intuitive) but how to import an existing folder structure with many images, retaining the structure after import? Actually thinking about it, I can barely remember how to import at all, I found it quite difficult to achieve and I think I might have drag and dropped some files?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tired importing photos from one folder and about 300-400 of them weren't imported (out of about 1,000). I deleted them and tried again. Same thing. On the third try it imported all of them.My thought was maybe it's going to take more time importing images from my folders than learning to use the program. I can't learn the program if it keeps dropping images. I tried another directory of about 3,000 images but it only accepted about 300 of them. No matter how many times I tried, it would only import 300 out of the whole batch. These are good jpg files that all my other programs have no trouble with.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to extend the bezier handle at it's current angle. Till now, I have been using a guide at the angle and following it when plotting the next curve (as above). I know you can use shift to lock it at a 90 degree, 45 degree angle, etc., but I would like tot keep it at its current angle. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSomehow my Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 has been corrupted. The photos I added are scattered throughout several folders. And when I open a file, the wrong folder name appears at the top of the display. It seems to have pushed files down through the folder tree, moving previous files into folders that are about 5 folders down. I was going to reinstall, but I received a warning upon "uninstallation" that I need to deactivate my access number, but I don't know how to do that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are new to Adobe Photo Elements (version 8) and are having trouble bringing files into our catalog. When we go to Files> Get Photos and Videos> From Files and Folders, we can select a folder in the root, but then it disappears from view and we can't navigate down to a subfolder.
We anticipated that the folder pane, which looks a lot like Windows Explorer, would allow us to navigate the folder hierarchy until we found the folder or file we wanted to import or open. Apparently, this is not how it works. In our case, we do not want to catalog the whole folder hierarchy, but one of the subfolders.
I have upgreaded to Elements 10 and when doing the catalog conversion many of the folders in the new catalog are missing the files(photos). When I right-click on those folders and try to add the files I can see the missing files attempting to transfer but on completion I receive this: :The files or folders selected to import did not contain any supported file types or the files are already in this folder"-BUT-the files are NOt in the folder in the catalog. They are in the folder on my computer as I am able to access them easily-They simply did not end up in the catalog's respective folders. I am using Windows XP Pro and all my Folders and Files are on an external drive and are saved there when I download the photos from my camera. I have not had this issue before--How might I get these files into the folder in the catalog?-I tried setting up a new catalog and attempted to convert again with the same results.

Each time I try to import, it goes through some number of photos, up through 2,00 plus sometimes and then says import failed and I get nothing. It claims the file is the wrong type (only jpgs and psds). I don't know what the stumbling block is or why elements doesn't jut ignore files it can't read and go on to the next.

I re-imported these folders into Lightroom and they showed up under the external HD. However, all of the colour coding/ratings and even the adustments I have made to the images are not visibible. Is there a way I can correct this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWorking with complex vectors is much better in Illustrator than in Photoshop but when I create my vectors in Illustrator and then pull them into Photoshop, they always end up being more blurry than when I work in Photoshop alone.
Is there some sort of trick in working between the two to retain pixel perfect bliss?
Importing images from specific folders is including images from outside selected folders.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased Photoshop Elements12 and Premiere Elements12, I also purchased Adobe's workbook "CLASSROOM IN A BOOK" (CIB). According to the setup process, CIB instructions call for downloading lesion files from the Peachpit web site, which was done successfully. These lesion files are identified as MP4 files and were placed an a directory. Following import procedures in the Photoshop Organizer which calls for highlighting the lesson files and clicking on "Get Media" nothing happened, no files appearing in the Organizer or no error messages.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using element 9 and am having problems importing files into the organizer . It has imported most of my images (jpg) from other folders. One folder does not import. I get a message saying the files are not supported or already imported. All the files are jpg's and none have been imported. I have changed the names of some of the files and then they get recognized and imported. Is there a maximum character name for files? How can I tell what files are not supported? The pop up window giving this information is so small I can't read the list. I removed anything from the folder that was not a jpg in case the import process stop when it encounters a file it does not recognize.
