Photoshop Elements :: How To Remove Multiple Duplicate Photos In A Catalog
May 12, 2012
I have multiple duplicate photos in my Photoshop Element 10 catalog - I have run across the compare a photo tutorials but I have possiblely some 200+ photos that are duplicates. Any simpler way to remove duplicate photos?
How can I remove a people tag from multiple photos at one time in PSE11. If I select two or more photos, then the people are no longer listed in the "image tags" info area, and the right-click menu does not list them under keyword tags to remove, it only shows "add person" not "remove person." This happened when many photos were accidentally tagged with a person not in the photo.
We have 11000+ plus photos all carefully cataloged in Photoshop Album 1.0 on my old Windows XP PC. Our new PC is Windows 7 Home Premium with Photoshop Elements 9. How do I import our existing catalog and continue sorting our new photos into our old catalog?
Elements 8. I have over 13,000 photo's in my catalog. How can I delete all of the duplicate photo's? This would dramaticly reduce my catalog size making it much faster and easier to use.
I have photoshop elements 11 and want to know how to take the same photo and duplicate it three times next to eachother in the same frame and then be able to enhance the photos separately
is there any way to delete duplicate photos in batches rather than individually?
Also, I have not been able to register my product (I purchased it about a week ago. There is no serial number on the box or on the envelope the disc came in nor is it on the disc itself. I've tried contacting support but when I click on the link that tells me there is an agent available, nothing happens.
PSE users have posted questions about removing deleted folders from the PSE catalog since version 5 or 6. Back in 2009, the recommendation was to delete only in PSE. However, I manage my folders, backups, and archives in Windows, because I prefer the interface and use other tools. This causes me to have many grayed-out folders in the PSE catalog. As each new version comes out, I hope this will get fixed, with no luck so far. Are there any new features in version 11 that make this possible? Is there any hope that a future versions will allow the user to clean up the catalog, or synchronize automatically to the real folder structure?
I have a file "silence.wav" that was apparently in my Elements catalog. It is located in a folder that has been deleted over my years of upgrading Photoshop Elements. My problem is I can't find the file in my organizer/catalog in my Elements 11.0 to delete it from the catalog. Typically, with a picture that has been deleted, I can still see it in my catalog with a little question mark indicating the file connection is lost. I can then either reconnect or delete from catalog. However, since I can't find this silence.wav file in my catalog (searching the catalog doesn't locate it) I can't delete it. As a result it always shows in my list when I reconnect files from time to time. How to get rid of this file so Elements doesn't continue to think it is part of my catalog and missing a link?
I recently had my computer reformatted and notice that following Photoshop Elements reinstall and catalog restore all my photos have been duplicated in the Adobe/digital photos folder. I have read that this is due to my computer tech restoring all photos in the original folder structure prior to me executing the catalog restore (I should have done my research first). My question is what can I do now to eliminate the duplicates? Do I delete all photos and the Adobe folders or is there an alternative?
I have Mac OSX 10.7.5 The catalog exists on a shared LOCAL folder that other users have read-write access to The catalog works fine for the 1st user (no issues viewing, tagging, or updating photos & repairing it yields no issues)However when I try to open this catalog with any other user I receive an error that the catalog may be corrupt and therefore cannot be opened...
Any way to share their catalog with multiple users on a Mac?
I am planning to move from a PC Windows 7-based system to a MAC. As part of this move I will need to migrate Photoshop Elements from PE 8 in Windows to PE 12 on MAC. Back in July, I previously asked what steps would be necessary to migrate to PE 11 on MAC, but I delayed making the move (waiting for the new MacBook Pro) and will now be migrating to PE 12.
Do I still follow the same steps for a (hopefully!) smooth transition of my tagged photos and catalog? i.e., migrate from PE 8 (Windows) to PE 12 (Windows). Then from PE 12 (Windows) to PE 12 (MAC). Are there any gotchas or caveats that I should be aware of? I've read a few horror stories in various places and am nervous.
I have been on the phone for a few hours to Adobe but they are stil investigating. When I produce a slide show using Elements 11 the pictures are no way near as clear as they appear in the folders. I just want to show my pictures without them looking like crap. They were taken using the highest quality photo on the camera, which is a new Nikon and look great when viewing through Elements Organiser. They also look amazing in the original source, eg My Pictures files. When making slide show it asks the quality and I select high.
I am using PSE 12. When I delete photos the program is moving automatically to the bottom or top of my catalog rather than staying in place. So if I am deleting photos 1000 - 1005 it will reload at the bottom or top of my catalog. This is a huge annoyance given I have 12K photos. Other times it simply freezes and crashes.
I just bought elements 12. Need to remove photos from an album. Nothing comes up in search & don't see menu option either. I tried right clicking ... nothing happens!
I just started my photog business so I am VERY new to all of this. . I watermarked alot of photos I took recently of a newborn and family, edited them and moved them to my Smugmug account only to realize that the watermark made in PS elements11 stays on during print. I need to remove those watermarks from my photos so that the family can order their prints ASAP. What do I need to do here? I still have all of the originals but they have the watermark stamped on them. Can I get it off?
I'm using Elements 11 and just completed a full backup I selected the external hard drive and used the default name "my catalog". When I look on the external drive I can't find the photos or the my catalog file. Is it named differently?
I have just upgraded from PSE 5 to PSE 9 and cannot find a file count on the Browser as in PSE 5. How can I remove audio icon from photos, I don't know how they got there to begin with.
How do I remove multiple folders from Elements Organizer 12, without deleteing the folders?
I imported all my pictures into Organizer. As it turns out, that included dozens of subfolders containing near-duplicate images, which now all show up in Organizer. That is because I previously used Google Picasa, which backs up the unprocessed original images into a subfolder called .picasaoriginals. I want to remove all these .picasaoriginals folders, but the only wny I can find to do it is to right-click each one individually, click Delete Folder, then confirm in the dialog box. I can't find any way to multi-select the folders.
Also, I have two of these folders that appear shaded in the folder list, where the option to delete is greyed-out. The contents report as not found, and my guess is that the folders have been deleted from the disk. How do I get rid of these from the folder list in Organizer?
Having decided Revel was not appropiate to my use, I've tried to delete the Revel icons from every jpg in my catalog and delete the mobile album from my Organizer, to no avail. Also would like to disable/delete auto analyzer since it uses so much CPU resources.
