Photoshop :: Merging Two Groups Of Photos

Mar 13, 2012

How can I merge two separate sequences of photos into one sequence? In other words I have 10 photos in total sorted into 2 groups, I want to merge photo number 1 with photo number 5, 2 with 6 etc. Can it be done through batch or would I have to do it manually? Is there an import action that would allow me to chose the sequential photo each time?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Merging Grading Groups

Oct 3, 2013

I'm currently trying to model all siteworks for a project using Civil 3D 2014. I created several grading groups that represent the various pads I need for the general project layout.  Since this was the way I knew how to model the pads, now I have some intersections on the slopes between one grading group and the other. I was wondering if I could "merge" the grading groups in order for them to be just one big pad, that maintains all the levels from the other pads. Here is an image of what I am trying to explain:

What I want to do is to merge the regions circled in red, so that I have only one building pad on my terrain.

Imagine i have 10 pictures and i want to combine them to one big and long picture with ridiculous proportion which i dont know what it is exactly but it should be around 20cm x 200cm. is there an easy way to cut and add one picture under the other till i manage to fix them all together without knowing the combined picture dimensions?

*at the moment the only way i know how to do it is to open a new file with estimated proportion then select the pics and then drag them to the new file which i dont know his dimensions...

Photoshop Elements :: Center A Group Of Photos On A Page Without Merging Them First?

I have six photos which are aligned and distributed equally and linked so they move as one. I want to center this group on the page but as soon as the background layer is selected, each photo piles onto each other with a mind of its own. Tried everything I know (which isn't really very much). It will work if I merge the group, but I don't want to do that.. I am using Elements 12 with Windows 8.1.

Lightroom :: Merging Photos To Panorama From LR4 To CS4?

Aug 30, 2012

When merging photos (RAW files) from LR3 in CS4 then all the modifications done to the photos (files) are reconized in CS4 and the Panorama has the same appearance in respect of exposure and color parameters.

When merging photos (RAW files) from LR4 in CS4 then the modifications done to the photos in LR4 (files) are not reconized in CS4 and the Panorama has the appearance of the untreated photos, same as imported. CS4 does not recognice, implement the LR4 modifications!

I need first to export the photos to an other format and then merge them so that the LR modifications are implemented.

Xara :: Selecting Groups Within Groups

Sep 12, 2011

I just learned (after 16 years...) that it's been possible to drill down through successive compound objects within groups without using the new V7 feature "Edit inside".

I'd always used Ctrl+Click within a group to select the object in it I want, but could never select just a group that was within--only a single object. But apparently Ctrl+Click is only intended to select the bottom-most (leaf) object of the group (tree). If instead you use Ctrl+Alt+Click, you can click through each level of a group.

So for example if you made two groups of 3 objects and then grouped the two groups together, you can select the whole group first, then one of the other groups within, then one of the objects within that group.

I can't believe I didn't know this. Shows what I know. And what amazes me more is that I didn't figure it out given that you can Alt+Click to select through overlapping objects.

Photoshop :: Two Adjustment Layers In Two Different Groups

Sep 25, 2012

I have a problem with my layers which I can not figure out how to solve.

see picture:

I have a group called: "Hele akvarier" " where I have used "Create new fill adjustment layer" - "Brightness / Contrast" to the layers which are under. (Layer 2, Original Copy, Original).Over is there are two layers named "Layer 3, Layer 1". These layers, I also need to  use the "Brightness / Contrast" to they're going to look right, but the top "adjustment layer" affects all the layers under.

How do I get my layers divided into two groups, each with its "adjustment layer" to use each with its own settings?

Photoshop :: Tween A Group Of Groups

Apr 9, 2013

How can I tween a Group of Groups to scale?

I use my Pshop groups in a similar fashion to how Flash uses Display Object Containers. I have one group containing the rest of my groups serving as a 'master group' so I can perform global transformations to all of my layers. For some reason, it stopped letting me scale.

Using frame animation (yes I'm using frame on purpose, not motion), I would like to get the master group to tween a scale and tranlate. I can get it to translate it's XY coordinates, but for some reason the scale doesn't work anymore. It was working before but not now. I even tried converting the group to a smart object but that doesn't work, and that's fine, I try to avoid smart objects where possible.

How to get this to work or what I might have done wrong to the file?

Photoshop :: Duplicate Groups Not Working In CS6?

Feb 13, 2013

Everytime I try to duplicate groups in photoshop cs6 to another open PSD file it usually works, but lately whenever I try to do it it only gives my the option to duplicate the groups to either a brand new file (an untitled file) or to the original file (that i'm duplicating the groups from). It won't allow me to duplicate them to another open PSD file.

For example, (in case i'm not being clear), say I have 2 files open such as A.psd and B.psd but i want to duplicate a bunch of groups i created in A.psd to B.psd. When i click on the groups i want to duplicate and the option box opens- in the destination box it only gives me the option of duplicating the groups to either A.psd (which is useless) or to a new file. It doesn't give the option to duplicate the groups to B.psd. It only gives the option if it's just a layer. I either have to merge groups into one layer or make them into a smart object and use the duplicate layer option instead. It's become a annoying problem because I want my groups to just duplicate. I shouldn't have to merge them in order to send them into another file. It has always worked until now.

Photoshop :: Reordering Layer Groups?

Sep 11, 2013

When I try to move layers or groups under an open layer group, it ends up inside that group instead. For example:Drag Group 3 between Group 1 and Group 2. It ends up inside Group 2, below Layer 2.Drag Group 3 between Background and Group 1. It ends up inside Group 1, below Layer 1.The only workarounds are:Close the layer group.Use Cmd-[ to move it "down" once more.

It seems to me there should be a more intuitive way to move layers, based on the indentation of the groups. Dragging a layer on a divider in the green area should move it at the top level, above background.Dragging a layer in the blue area should move it inside Group 1.Dragging a layer in the magenta area should move it inside Group 2.

Dragging a layer in the orange area should move it inside Group 3.The appropriate section of the divider should highlight to indicate where the layer will end up (currently the entire divider is highlighted)

Photoshop :: How To Make Screen Instance Groups

Sep 27, 2013

I'm not talking about simply making a layer folder with various elements grouped inside. What I'm trying to do is create different screen instances of a website using a feaure that turns on specific layers, allowing me to save that "layer visible" combination. I did this a few years ago and now cannot remember how it was done. To give an example:

I have a layer folder called "main navigation" in my Photoshop file. This main navigation folder has tons of sublayer elements that include the menu itself,  hover states, drop down states, etc. I have another layer folder that contains elements for a specific web page.

What I used to do was this: I could turn on one of the specific web page folders, then turn on the active state element in my Main Navigation folder. So now the page looks as if it would for that specific screen instance. At this point, I was able to create a "Layer Group" that saved this specific set of layers that were turned on (visible), and name it.

Does this feature still exist in Photoshop? I can't seem to find it anywhere, or find any documentation on how to implement it.

Photoshop :: Blend If Inside Groups Or Smart

Nov 7, 2008

I resized it to fit the background notepad and made several identical copies of the texture layer, their only difference being different values for "blend if underlying layer", so that the texture smoothly ends with the underlying notepad on each side (as there are luminosity differences both on the notepad and the notepads background).

That looks fine for "normal blending" (dont worry about the messy bottom, it will be cropped when everythings done). But I actually need the texture to be multiplied with the background layer. Obviously setting each layer to multiply isnt going to cut it because they would multiply each other, too. So I need to either put all the layers into a smart object (option 1) or option 2, which Ill resort to here put all layers into a group set to multiply, since this way all of the layers in the group are put together first and the composite group is then treated as a single image and blended with the rest of the image, using multiply.

... whereas I rather expected the result to look like this (I only roughly masked the edges for demonstration purposes):

To me it seems, as if putting the group would nullify the "blend if underlying layer" settings for each layer. Besides, the same happens if I use a smart object instead of the group (option 1). I dont see why this should happen at all.

So my questions: Is this behaviour deliberate? And if so, can somebody explain ?

a solution to get to the last screenshot (without masking manually obviously) ?
