Photoshop :: How To Stop CS5.5 Taking Control Of HTML And PDF Files Without User's Consent
Jan 11, 2013
Our client uses CS 5.5, and Photoshop will continuously take control of pdf and html files. This is without any interraction from the user, and after setting it back to the desired settings (pdf - Reader, html - Chrome), after some time (and doesn't seem to be related to anything the user does, restarting machine etc), Photoshop will snatch control of either or both of these extensions.
Resetting Photoshop preferences does work for a time but it is not long before the issues arise again.
Recently, when I try to open Photoshop elements 9, I am asked to allow PSElements 9 adobe systems inc. to make administrative changes to my computer. I have had Elements 9 on this computer for 2 years without being asked for this permission. If I click yes, photoshop opens, if I click no, it doesn't open so I then have to click yes!
how I can control another Edge animation and/or html element of a single page from a custom Edge animated button? For example, I created an animated tabbed buttons in Edge, then I want to animate a different Edge animate once I clicked on a button in the other Edge animation. I want to add multiple Edge animation in one page instead of one big Edge animation. This is partly because the design of the page is done is Muse with the parallax effect.
Whenever I try to select a Curve to select 'Control Vertex' I get the options for the Camera instead, the only work around I have is to Hide the Camera which also switches off the image planes, then select the curve and select 'Control Vertex, and then re-enable the image planes.
"Can Illustrator allow the user to control the size of halftone dots?" Just to be clear, for silk screen, the dots must be course. I have read several posts on the subject and still there is no definitive answer. The PPD file has been loaded. The document is a CMYK. In the print menu the separation menu has only very fine settings available (The lowest is 56 lpi/300dpi) which if selected makes very little to no difference in the dot patterns.
Just to reduce confusion, often a silk screen printer will try to get two colors for the price of one. The simplest example would be to get Black & Gray with one screen. If I set the Gray to 50% and the Black to 100%, still no change. If I use spot colors like PMS Cool Gray and Black, no change. Moving the files into Photoshop may work but fundamentally speaking PhotoShop in my opinion is for constant tone images or Photos, and it seems counter productive to add in a extra step (and software) to the work flow.
I like Illustrator and have invested hundreds of hours learning and promoting it's virtues. When I was asked by a local shop how to do this task, I responded,Can I do this or do I need to tell my associate to keep using CorelDraw! 7...
I'm looking for a good tutorial for converting PSD files into HTML emails. I know the basic steps such as slicing up the document, how to optimize the images, save as an HTML file and images but after that it gets fuzzy. I'm struggling with how to have text blocks in photoshop show up as text rather than be an image in the HTML.
I've searched on Lynda.com, YouTube, and quite a few other sources but can't seem to find anything that goes over it in depth. I'm a novice when it comes to HTML.
I've sliced an image for publishing to the web and saved it as an HTML file using the Save for Web command (PSC3). It is my understanding that PS creates the images and pages according to the options set in the Save for Web dialog, however, when viewed, the page shows place holders for the slices, but only red X's for the images. The resulting HTML code references a number of GIF files located in an "images" folder, but I cannot find the location of that folder. Search does not show a folder, nor the referenced file names.
Am I mis-understanding the HTML option in the Save for Web process? If not, where did PS put the images it supposedly created from the slices?
I am Using Coral Draw X3 & when i drag & drop or copy & paste image ( small aswell as big) takes time and in between it gets stuck & not responding message.
I recently stopped doing freelance design work. For one company that I did a lot of work for, I need to pass on all of my files to their next designer. I have probably over 50 AI files to pass on. What's the best way to get all the files to the next designer?
I'm using ACA 2012 with Windows 7 Pro x64 in a stand-alone environment. Lately it seems that even running a very simple script file takes multiple minutes where it used to take 1 or 2 seconds. Also, the script no longer scrolls through the 4 or 5 commamd lines I show at the bottom of the monitor; it just lays there like an egg. This behavior is common to all of my scripts. Also, saves seem to be taking a lot longer than before. I've turned virus protection off to no avail.
I'm running lightroom 4.3 on a PC. The web template needed a few changes making, mainly the layout and replacing links for images etc., I could not find a way to update via lightroom so I changed the detail.html and grid.html files directly in C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop Lightroom
4.3Sharedwebenginesdefault_html.lrwebengine. Now I need to make the same changes in lightroom 4.3 on a MAC, but how to locate the same files and update?
I use CS5 + Windows 7, and I would like to make looping gifs from .mp4/.avi clips. I make sure that I set looping to ''forever'', and that I save the file as a gif. once I upload it to a site on chrome(like imageshack and tumblr), the image always stops animating or doesn't animate at all. I've tried uploading the image on Firefox, and it looped forever on the image's direct link on imageshack. But when I upload the image to tumblr on either browsers, either from my files or the imageshack link, it still stops looping. When I go to a tumblr page to mass-delete posts, a gif that has a smaller size than an older gif(this one doesn't animate at all anymore) does loop. Every other gif on the whole site I haven't made always loop.
In my Lightroom catalogue, I often need to open a raw (dng) file in Photoshop, work on it there and save the result as a jpeg. The jpeg is then sent to a client after which I have no further use for it, so normally I would delete it. However I find that every time I 'save as' in Photoshop, Lightroom imports that file into its database. The only exception is if I choose 'save for web' in Photoshop. I'm told that this behaviour is wrong - that LR shouldn't automatically import these images.
I have a D3000 and PSE9 and at one time my NEF files would open with the raw dialog box. Now they only open in the normal editor. How do I get my raw dialog back?
A friends wants me to reinstall his windows but before i do that he wants me to backup all user changable files of his Photoshop CS, but im not really into PhotoShop so i dont know all the files, can make a list of some files that store the settings and the brushes and stuff?
I have done numerous searches on the internet to find out how to stop Photoshop from placing files as a smart object. I followed the suggestion of going to Edit > Preferences > General to uncheck the "Place or Drag Raster Images as Smart Obejct" but that option does not appear in Photoshop CS4.
At one point, working on a scene in 3DS, I merged in objects from another scene. I only needed a few items and deleted the rest, however every time I load up the scene, it will say that it is missing the files (which it isn't), because I don't want them. How do I get it to get over this loss?
Many of the users on my school network cannot save their Photoshop files to a specified folder. Instead the files are automatically saved to User/Library/Caches/Temporary Items folder.
I've changed the File Handling Preferences with no results in changing this issue. Since a couple users did not experience this problem, I'm wondering if it might be a permissions problem.
I must have accidentally ticked something because all of a sudden Lightroom 4.3 has started to import an original filename.tif file and also copy it to filename -2.tif, doubling up each file. What do I have do to change to stop this?
I can no longer make changes to one of my gimp files. Everytime I select a tool such as pen, pencil sprbrush, the mouse icon changes, but when i try to draw nothing happens. It seems like all the other tools work, i tried the following
1. made sure the correct layer was selected 2. exit gimp and re-run it.
I'm using an iMac with CS6. I have an external Maxtor 1TB drive that is 13 months old. when I attempted to access a PSD file from the drive and received an error message telling me that the document was not a valid photoshop file. I looked at the directory at this point and noticed that the preview icons for many of the photoshop and jpg files on the drive were disabled. In each of these cases, the files will not open.
I have:
1. Repaired permissions and volumes on the external drive.
2. Changed the file extension and attempted to open.
3. Opened the file in a hex editor and looked for extra lines of code, or text, or whatever.
4. Copied the file to a different drive.
5. Attempted to open in a different program (Preview, Illustrator)
In no cases will the files open, and I'm stumped. The drive itself seems to be working fine. Not every file is affected, and the files that are affected are both in a variety of locations on the drive and were created over a period of years.
How do I stop LR4 from organizing imported files into a folder by date. Most times when I import files I have already created a folder and sub-folder structure tyat I want to use. I then right click the desired folder and choose import into this folder option. Why does LR4 insist on organizing my already selected destination into a sub-folder with a date by default?
Every time I open a RAW file into Photoshop CS5 from LR3, it automatically creates and saves a PSD or TIFF file. Is there a way to stop lightroom from doing this? When I used LR2, I saved these files only if I choose to. I always convert my files to jpg after I'm done editing in PS and don't need these huge files hanging around.
I just upgraded to Map 3d 2014 from 2010 and cannot figure out how to control the transparency for shapefiles. I thought that it was a glitch with the upgrade so installed the servepack and still no luck. So when I go to edit style and then to the style polygon dialouge there is no control for the foreground and no control for the trasparency, there is just a the word tranparency option with "0" but no way change it. I have installed 3d on 2 computers and the same on both.
Had to get a new hard drive. Using Win XP, LT 2010. Most customization is on server, but I had some tool palettes, and I made one ribbon panel with a few tabs. Old hard drive is still accessible on the computer. Three items I want to copy.
1. Tool palettes - Can I just copy the items from support/icons, and support/palettesinto the same location on the new drive? 2. Will copying the profile.aws to the same location work for the profile? and 3. Where do I copy my custom file for the custom tab & panel?
