View 1 RepliesFor some reason it has been doing this every since I edited photos from my external. I have deleted those photos edited in LR3 and it still opens up. I am completely new to using LR.

Example: If you start with a circle drawn to your set 3 point UCS the quadrants are in line with the X & Y but as soon as you extrude the circle into a cylinder the UCS turns the quadrants to world, I want the quadrants to stay in the same place as my 3 point UCS position.
Not sure if it's just a system variable that need changing.
In my Lightroom catalogue, I often need to open a raw (dng) file in Photoshop, work on it there and save the result as a jpeg. The jpeg is then sent to a client after which I have no further use for it, so normally I would delete it. However I find that every time I 'save as' in Photoshop, Lightroom imports that file into its database. The only exception is if I choose 'save for web' in Photoshop. I'm told that this behaviour is wrong - that LR shouldn't automatically import these images.

How do I stop LR4 from organizing imported files into a folder by date. Most times when I import files I have already created a folder and sub-folder structure tyat I want to use. I then right click the desired folder and choose import into this folder option. Why does LR4 insist on organizing my already selected destination into a sub-folder with a date by default?
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open a RAW file into Photoshop CS5 from LR3, it automatically creates and saves a PSD or TIFF file. Is there a way to stop lightroom from doing this? When I used LR2, I saved these files only if I choose to. I always convert my files to jpg after I'm done editing in PS and don't need these huge files hanging around.

When attempting to add simple text on an individual layer, the layer is turning black. This prevents me from seeing the text I'm editing. When I move to another layer the text displays correctly. When I go to edit the text by clicking the image the layer goes black again. It is like editing text in the dark, turning the light on to see the changes, turning the light off to make the changes, repeat.
I'm sending tiff files to GIMP (version 2.6.7 for Windows) from a raw converter. The tiff files contain a lot of EXIF data such as Fnumber, FocalLength, ExposureTime, ISO. and so-on. When I save as jpeg from GIMP, most of the EXIF data is discarded. In the "Save as JPEG" dialog, the checkbox "Save EXIF data" (under Advaned Options" is unchecked. It is grayed out so I cannot check it.
In Chapter 6 of the GIMP manual, it says
Although GIMP uses the “libexif” library to read and write EXIF data, the library is not automatically packaged with GIMP. If GIMP was built with libexif support, then EXIF data is preserved
Here are my questions: (1) Is the Windows version of GIMP packaged with libexif? (2) If not, is there a workaround?

I am running MAC OS 10.7.5 with latest PS-CS6 and latest raw converter plug-in 7.1. On-One seems to hi-jack these Sony raw files and won't give me the opportunity for the adjustments that I get with the Adobe Raw File converter.
I used Adobe DNG Converter version 8.3.0.141 to convert .rw2 files created by my Panasonic Lumix FZ200 camera. These files won't transfer into the Organizer and, when trying to open them from the Editor, I get an error message saying the file can't be opened "because it is the wrong type of file".

View 18 Replies View RelatedI have a Nikon D7k which I have been shooting in RAW and converting using Adobe DNG converter 6.4 to process in Lightroom 2. (I have a G4 (PPC) Mac with OS 10.5.8. LR2 is the last version this Mac can run.) The converted files look rather poor and require substantial effort to achieve an acceptable result in LR. JPEGs look much better out-of-the-camera. I looked at some of the RAW files in Nikon ViewNX2 and they looked much, much better. Unfortunately, there is some sort of color space conflict with LR2 which I have been unable to resolve.
Any way other than shooting in JPEG, which I am presently doing, until such time as I get a new computer which will run the latest versions of LR and PS?

I make sure that I set looping to ''forever'', and that I save the file as a gif. once I upload it to a site on chrome(like imageshack and tumblr), the image always stops animating or doesn't animate at all. I've tried uploading the image on Firefox, and it looped forever on the image's direct link on imageshack. But when I upload the image to tumblr on either browsers, either from my files or the imageshack link, it still stops looping. When I go to a tumblr page to mass-delete posts, a gif that has a smaller size than an older gif(this one doesn't animate at all anymore) does loop. Every other gif on the whole site I haven't made always loop.
