Recently, when I try to open Photoshop elements 9, I am asked to allow PSElements 9 adobe systems inc. to make administrative changes to my computer. I have had Elements 9 on this computer for 2 years without being asked for this permission. If I click yes, photoshop opens, if I click no, it doesn't open so I then have to click yes!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm at the stage where I input my date of birth and choosing a personal URL for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I DO NOT use symbols. I have tried simple words and names and sometimes include numbers. I've checked both boxes referring to updates and agreeing to the Terms of Use. I click on Update Account and I get this message:
"And error has occurred, and your changes were not saved."
I have registered the program on the website. My account is identified and recognized. Why can't I get passed Update Account? Why must I have a personal URL if it's the only thing stopping my progress?
Our client uses CS 5.5, and Photoshop will continuously take control of pdf and html files. This is without any interraction from the user, and after setting it back to the desired settings (pdf - Reader, html - Chrome), after some time (and doesn't seem to be related to anything the user does, restarting machine etc), Photoshop will snatch control of either or both of these extensions.
Resetting Photoshop preferences does work for a time but it is not long before the issues arise again.
"Can Illustrator allow the user to control the size of halftone dots?" Just to be clear, for silk screen, the dots must be course. I have read several posts on the subject and still there is no definitive answer. The PPD file has been loaded. The document is a CMYK. In the print menu the separation menu has only very fine settings available (The lowest is 56 lpi/300dpi) which if selected makes very little to no difference in the dot patterns.
Just to reduce confusion, often a silk screen printer will try to get two colors for the price of one. The simplest example would be to get Black & Gray with one screen. If I set the Gray to 50% and the Black to 100%, still no change. If I use spot colors like PMS Cool Gray and Black, no change. Moving the files into Photoshop may work but fundamentally speaking PhotoShop in my opinion is for constant tone images or Photos, and it seems counter productive to add in a extra step (and software) to the work flow.

When I view a file in CS5, the colors are vastly different than when I view the same file from any other program on my computer. I calibrate regularly and want to be viewing as per the calibration on CS5- are there setting I need to change in CS5 or are those accurate and I need to change the settings in my control panel?

The setup for one user is not carrying over for all users. Is there a way to configure GIMP so that my changes affect all users.
Using autocad LT 2008. I am working in the constriction field. Usually I receive a drawing from the architect , than I need to create my version of his drawing , meaning I need to emphasis the important construction geometry. AutoCAD speaking, im using the CTB file to control this color request
1. I set all 255 pans to gray (architect plane fade out)
2. I set random color to blue (emphasizing my geometry)
Mouse Control is missing in Preference Settings / Viewports. It exists in 3ds Max 2012. Has it been moved somewhere else?

My personal settings include:
1. alias
2. autolisp that are loaded in the cui
3. an escape autolisp that is part of the right click context edit menu
4. re-arrangement of short cut menu (i.e addition of dimension linear, dimension aligned, plot)
5. new menu with new macros
6. option profiles
7. plot styles
8. hatches
9. libraries of block
10. palette
11. workspace
I know the list is long and can be longer and most of the time as I switch from one computer to another, there is the same repetitive task of copying, resettings and so on. Are there any effective way to transform an autocad post with all my settings at once, that effectively save all the settings and the files and the blocks and templates and effectively load all of them onto a new working post.
Somewhere it looks impossible, at least in its totality but who knows this may be possible.
When using AdMigrator.exe /reset [see here] you can create a ZIP file with a backup of the user settings. Are there any instructions to restore the user settings from the ZIP file?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe loaded up C3D 2013 a month or so ago. I exported my user profile (Options>Profiles>Export) from C3D 2012 and loaded it into 2013. Now the profile will not stay loaded. I have to reload it every time I startup C3D. It also doesn't hold my view cube settings or my panes.

This works great so long as the user is not in the middle of another lisp routine.How can I change this to a transparent command that will work to set osnaps while running another lisp routine?I would like to store it in a toolbar button.
We had to migrate from one domain to annother on our network. This meant that each user had to create a new profile.
Before we migrated I tried to back up the user data from the old user but once I am up an running agian all the AutoCad settings are no longer included. I understand you can export those while you are logged in and can see the macros etc. can you simply move the files that store that information (I can still access all the files from that user I just can't login as that user anymore)

Is there anyway to get the user settings transferred to the new hard drive without the usual export?
The old hard drive is installed as a slave, I can read the data but it will not boot.

Every time I try to log into my Adobe account the little wheel spins and spins. Right now it's been spinning for 10 minutes. The log-in email and password are correct and I get no notice that the user name or password are incorrect. I have to change the password every time I log in. And why do I need to log in to download Camera Raw 8.2 anyway?

On quite a few layout drawings I need to have the same base set of references, however I need to change the layer settings (colors, lineweight etc.). This cannot be done in the base reference itself as it is used by others. As the layouts I work with includes other references as well, it is time consuming to filter and change layer settings on each base reference.
My concept is to have a master reference file to manage all layer settings and add/remove base references. When the master reference is referenced into the layout, all layer settings on the base references should stay as set in the master reference. In this way I can easily control all base references with one file and make sure all changes will be the same for all the layouts.

Namely, in admin account PS has in 'Save As' File Types list, among others JPEG file type.
But in limited account there is no JPEG file type in the 'Save As' list, so i have to go to 'Save for Web' to compress psd file.
I presume that's something about ntfs permissions, so i assigned full control to COMP/Users for Photoshop folders in 'Program Files' and 'Common Files', but to no avail.
Is there some Windows compressor, to which PS is addressing to compress files, and if so, where it could be located? If i knew that, i could assign user permissions to it.
I created a file for someone using the Photoshop CS6 software, and he has just now informed me that he uses Photoshop Elements 10. The only thing he will need to do with the file, at most, is add layers on top of it. How can I save the file through CS6 for him to open and use in Elements 10?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust performed 10 installs of CS5.5 design Premium on Mac Intel Towers running 10.5.8 and 10.6.8. On three of the machines the PS app in 64-bit mode crashes on launch from the Standard user account. In the Admin account it opens in 64bit mode no problem. In the standard user account if I switch to open in 32-bit mode it opens without issue.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times. ( as per Adobe ) There are no third party plug ins, even if there were why would it run in the Admin account?All other Apps in the CS work fine.
I tried browsing my computer for the default program to open .psd files, but when I double click photoshop cs6, it doesn't show up in the list of default programs. Photoshop can open .psd files automatically in other user accounts, but not on mine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have encountered a bit of an issue. i have used my CS4 photoshop for years now on my original administrator account which is the account I installed it on but now when i try to open it I get the splash screen and it starts to load and then where it should fully open it just goes away?? I can log in to any other account on my computer and it opens just fine. have to sign out go to another user account edit then log out and then back in to my normal admin account

When I select the rounded rectangle tool and draw a rectangle over to photo, I do not see the handles that control the roundness. Is there an easier way to do this? I eventually want to add a beveled edge, drop shadow, and use the image as a background for a web page. I have the complete CS6 suite.
