Lightroom :: Why Doesn't Deleting Plist Preference Revert To Default Settings
Mar 20, 2014I removed the original file from the Preferences folder and restarted LR. When I have done this in the past LR does not give me a catalog listing and when LR opens, the panels are all in default mode. This time I see my usual catalog list, and all of the panels are as I set them. I checked the Preferences folder, and a new plist file has been created. What am I missing. I am having problems with the program, and wanted to reset the preferences in case the file was corrupted.

Jan 8, 2014Since ADM is not available in CS6, I am wondering how to add preference items to the preference panel. Though AddPreferencePanel is still available in preference suite, it is taking a dialog id as parameter and the doc refers to ADMDialogSuite, so I guess it is still there by mistake.
I am using Qt, and of course I can create my own preferences dialog, but is it possible to add it to the existing preferences dialog to provide seamless interface?
Lightroom :: 4 Losing Mouse Control After A While?
Oct 17, 2012I have Lightroom 4 running on Macbook Pro (mid 2010 with Mountain Lion), and it loses mouse control totally after a while.
Problems started when upgrading from 3.6 to 4.1 and upgrading to 4.2 did not work. Sometimes I might be able to use the software for hours, sometimes problems start just after ten minutes or so. Only restarting the software seems to work.
Lightroom is only program having this kind of problems, and problem stays same, no matter am I using external mouse or trackpad. Keyboard commands are working all the time and Lightroom seems to respond those normally, only mouse control is totally lost or acting randomly. If I use iPad with Air Display as second diplay, mouse seems to work there just fine even when window in MBP's display is having problems (I saw problem before installing Air Display).

Right now I am using 2 computers, a mac pro and a macbook pro. I would like to use my MacPro's keyboard and mouse to control the macbook pro much like a mouse and keyboard on a second display. I've been using an application called teleport, but it doesn't allow me to use keyboard commands.
I've heard/used synergy, but it's to much work for the final product.

During the tutorial videos, we're instructed that using the MMB with the Ctrl, Alt, or combination there of, a hand icon will appear and certain movements will occur. My mouse is not behaving in this manner. I am wondering if there is a certain setting within windows I need to set the MMB, specifically for this program, since the default setting doesn't seem to work.

Jul 13, 2011Is there a way to configure the mouse button settings in Maya 2012 similar to the Hot Keys editor for configuring key settings? I would like to change the ALT-RMB setting to pan the camera instead of dollying it.
I need this because I have a three button mouse on which the MMB is also a scroll wheel, and whenever I try to click it it always moves and starts dollying the camera view instead of panning the camera view. I can dolly with the scroll wheel so I would like to pan with ALT-RMB. Otherwise I cannot pan at all.

Jun 28, 2013I have read several other threads on this issue where the control overlays are missing when you go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects. The "answer" from Adobe always seems to be, "updated your video card drivers."
I have a ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 560v for my Dell laptop running Windows 7 64bit. I have checked both through Dell and the ATI page and I have the latest drivers but Lighting Effects don't work properly. So now what?
I tried messing with the Preferences for Performance based on other posts. No luck. When I go to View>Extras>Show All I do then see the controls, however, the program freezes then crashes every time.
do I have to go back to CS4 to do all my lighting effects?
AutoCAD 2013 :: Control Buttons Missing (Minimize / Maximize / Close)
Mar 27, 2013I'm using autocad 2013 & the classic workspace instead of ribbon. For some strange reason, if 2 or more drawings are open & I minimize a drawing, it removes the minimize, maximize, close buttons from the right top side of the screen like in the attached picture. To get them back I have to go to the window pulldown & select the drawing from there. I'm using windows 7 pro with a nvidia quadro 1000m card.

Feb 12, 2013I have been a user of previous versions of VS...but my last version was VS12 because I didn't like version 3 or 4. Finally I am trying Pro X5 on a trial. I completed a project in Pro X5 but now I want to save it out to my computer. The problem is that when I want to save it I am missing my compression options. My standard procedure was to go --> Share --> Save File --> Custom --> Options --> Compression and I could choose from 8 different Media Types...Now, in Pro X5 I only get 2 compression types...NTSC and PAL..

Where would these preferences have disappeared to? I don't recall ever seeing the standard options ever since installing the CS3 Master Collection. ImageReady and Photoshop CS3 usually have a few JPG, GIF and PNG options.
Could I download the original settings file somewhere, without reinstalling anything?

Apr 25, 2013I have just moved my LR4 Catalog (Exporting as Catalog) from my Mac to an external Hard Drive. Now when I view the DNG Images in LR4 I notice that all of my adjustments e.g. (Exposure, WB, Camera Profil...etc,) are nolonger there! (hours of work missing). I have also noticed that all Virtual Copies are missing! The files are now as when I first imported into LR4.

Jun 27, 2012I'm working on a large infrastructure project with numerous of drawings. On quite a few layout drawings I need to have the same base set of references, however I need to change the layer settings (colors, lineweight etc.). This cannot be done in the base reference itself as it is used by others. As the layouts I work with includes other references as well, it is time consuming to filter and change layer settings on each base reference.
My concept is to have a master reference file to manage all layer settings and add/remove base references. When the master reference is referenced into the layout, all layer settings on the base references should stay as set in the master reference. In this way I can easily control all base references with one file and make sure all changes will be the same for all the layouts.

I installed ACAD2012 but never got the Migrate custom settings box upon opening ACAD2012 for the 1st time.
I reviewed Autodesk Help that ensured me that I could also find it thru:

Epic fail... all that showed up there was export and import autoCAD 2012 settings.
Where oh where could my migration tools box have gone? Why is it not there?
(FYI, this happened to us when we upgraded from 2010 to 2011 also but we thought we had done something wrong so we eventually just manually transferred files over. That was very time consuming and we do not want to perform that exercise again.)
