Photoshop :: CS4 Stopped Opening In Admin Account But Fine In All Others
Feb 14, 2012
I have encountered a bit of an issue. i have used my CS4 photoshop for years now on my original administrator account which is the account I installed it on but now when i try to open it I get the splash screen and it starts to load and then where it should fully open it just goes away?? I can log in to any other account on my computer and it opens just fine. have to sign out go to another user account edit then log out and then back in to my normal admin account
Revit 2012 stopped running for user with admin rights 100% of the times. Computer is 64 bit 4 core processor 8 logical cores and 8.0GB ram.If I right click on the Revit icon and select "Run as Administrator" will will launch 50% of the time and runs OK.
I had to reformat My Hard Drive and then i re installed photoshop CS2. now whenever i open photoshop an error comes up that says "You are not allowed to continue because your account does not have the proper privileges. Please log in using an account with administrator privileges and try again" even tho i am the administrator. it was working fine before i reformated my Hard drive.
I am on a mac running the latest OS and i had to take it in to the shop. It got the logic board fixed and when I got it back I can no longer drag and drop files into Photoshop to open them.
It opens photoshop but will not open the pic. The only way I can open the pic is if i go under the menu and select open. Even when I right click on a pic and "open with photoshop" it only runs the program and not opens the file.
I have Win 7 and my PS CS 6 worked fine for months but now has stopped opening any files or creating new ones. Instead it just freezes without any errors warnings. I do have CS5 PS still installed and it still works fine. All other CS6 programs work fine also. I tried uninstalling and reinstalled and I still got the same problem.
After working for a few weeks, Camera Raw has stopped opening Canon 5D Mark II files. Says it is not a readable file format but I know the files are not corrupt because they will open in the Canon utility.
I have LR4 and PS CS5. Edited several photos this morning without a problem --But this evening, after editing in LR, clicked command+E to open in Photoshop- as I always do, but didn't get the dialog that gives me the option to edit with LR changes. The files are opening as raw instead of TIFF all of a sudden! I have done nothing different aside from updating the Kubota dashboard.
I deleted the Kubota plug-in since that was the only thing I did out of the ordinary but still no luck. I am deserate to get images edited in LR transferred to PS WITH THE EDITS! Why would it work one minute and not the next?
Just tried to edit in Color Efex from Lightroom and got the dialogue. So...it's only happening with Photoshop. I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling with updated Camera Raw 6.7 plugin. No luck....
I noticed over the last few days that Corel was taking a while to open files. Like, if I had one open already it was usually fast enough, but if Corel wasn't open I'd get an error from the file manager I use saying it couldn't execute the program. Every time though, if I closed CorelDraw, and open a new instance of the program I'd be fine again.
Today has been different. Today I've had to restart corel practically every time I've tried to open a document. A few minutes ago I couldn't even get corel to open.
Right now where I'm at: I can open corel, I can change workspaces, but I can't open any file or even a 'new blank document' It freezes/hangs with the processing bar at about 80 %.
I'm going to try a restore point. I brag about how stable my system is, this makes no sense, I don't think it is a corel problem, I've noticed a ton of updates from Windows starting middle of last week. I just figured it would work itself out. I'll post every step I take. Oh, and by the way, I can open PhotoPaint Just fine.
I've removed update KB2853952 - Improvement only in that I can open corel, but can't open a new document or an existing document. I've done an F8 while starting up Corel Draw and reset to factory specs. No change. Deleted all 10,006 items in my temp folder. No change. System restore back to 9/10/2013 worked. Corel functions as expected.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6
Autodesk Inventor 2014 randomly stopped opening. This is on Windows 7 64-bit. I tried repair and reinstall. No error message is give. This issue persists across reboots.
I have 2013 on my system, and it was working fine for a few weeks, but then one day I tried to bring it up and got this error:
[URL]
and when I click on the ok button, it shuts down the CAD window again. I tried repairing teh install, and then I tried reinstalling the program. I still get the same error, no matter what.
Loaded Photoshop Elements 9 on a computer that is not on the internet and works fine as long as the user logging into the computer has admin privileges but a user who does not have admin priviledges gets an Error:6 that says to uninstall and reinstall the product. Uninstalling and reinstalling the product has no effect. I believe this to be that the normal user doesn't have permissions to a file somewhere that it needs to write to but can't seem to locate that file as I have given write permissions to Adobe under Programs & Common Files but no success.
Every time I try to log into my Adobe account the little wheel spins and spins. Right now it's been spinning for 10 minutes. The log-in email and password are correct and I get no notice that the user name or password are incorrect. I have to change the password every time I log in. And why do I need to log in to download Camera Raw 8.2 anyway?
I have a problem with Photoshop CS, working in a limited account.
Namely, in admin account PS has in 'Save As' File Types list, among others JPEG file type.
But in limited account there is no JPEG file type in the 'Save As' list, so i have to go to 'Save for Web' to compress psd file.
I presume that's something about ntfs permissions, so i assigned full control to COMP/Users for Photoshop folders in 'Program Files' and 'Common Files', but to no avail.
Is there some Windows compressor, to which PS is addressing to compress files, and if so, where it could be located? If i knew that, i could assign user permissions to it.
I had serious corruption issues with the user profile I was using when I setup my CS3, when I created a new user account and tried to open PS it says my licensing is no longer valid... This is rediculous, surely this is a mistake right?
I am trying to install the trail version of Illustrator CC, but the install script comes back with the message "Installation Failed" Administrator priviedges are required to install. Please Install later." I can install programs on my computer, but it is through my company's mechanism that temporarily elevates my privildges to allow program installations. Has success in installing the program? If so, how?
Just performed 10 installs of CS5.5 design Premium on Mac Intel Towers running 10.5.8 and 10.6.8. On three of the machines the PS app in 64-bit mode crashes on launch from the Standard user account. In the Admin account it opens in 64bit mode no problem. In the standard user account if I switch to open in 32-bit mode it opens without issue.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times. ( as per Adobe ) There are no third party plug ins, even if there were why would it run in the Admin account? All other Apps in the CS work fine.
I tried browsing my computer for the default program to open .psd files, but when I double click photoshop cs6, it doesn't show up in the list of default programs. Photoshop can open .psd files automatically in other user accounts, but not on mine.
Recently, when I try to open Photoshop elements 9, I am asked to allow PSElements 9 adobe systems inc. to make administrative changes to my computer. I have had Elements 9 on this computer for 2 years without being asked for this permission. If I click yes, photoshop opens, if I click no, it doesn't open so I then have to click yes!
i have another photoshop account under a different email.i tried to sign into it after not signing into it for years. yahoo told me the account had been deactivated due to no activity.
if i don't remember the password for that old photoshop account, how do i recover the password if i can't sign into that old yahoo account anymore?
i actually remember the password now but i already hit the button to send the reset the password email. thats how i discoved my old email account was deactivated and i couldnt sign in.
I have a users who cannot change parameter values for iLogic unless user is a local admin on the workstation. This machine has just been upgrade to Inventor 2013.
I'm at the stage where I input my date of birth and choosing a personal URL for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I DO NOT use symbols. I have tried simple words and names and sometimes include numbers. I've checked both boxes referring to updates and agreeing to the Terms of Use. I click on Update Account and I get this message:
"And error has occurred, and your changes were not saved."
I have registered the program on the website. My account is identified and recognized. Why can't I get passed Update Account? Why must I have a personal URL if it's the only thing stopping my progress?
