In PS CS6 (trial version for windows - I use windows 7) ordinary photo files only load partially. Huge pixel blocks seem te be absent. Only after a second attempt they load as should be. My hardware is rather up to date (6 GB work memory); I 've never had this problem in CS 5.

I have 8 .ico files that i converted to .png to open them. once all are open i try to combine into one file with 8 layers but am unable to do it!?!? If I click on the main layer in any file it shows as locked and says "Indicates layer is partially locked".
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have a Custom CUI Enterprise file that we load in the profile settings (AutoCAD 2008). I transferred it though the CUI Editor and saved it for AutoCAD 2012. When I load it into AutoCAD 2012, the pull down custom pull down menu does not show, with or without the menu bar turned on. I have some partial CUI files that I did the same way. When I load them, and list them in the Main CUI file as such, they show up as expected. I even tried to list the Custom CUI Enterprise file in the same manor, but I get a "read only" type message and it still doesn't show the pull down.
I also thought about transferring it to another CUI file to partial load and not have a Custom CUI Enterprise file.
AutoCAD 2012 / Inventor 2012
Out of action on CS2 for over a week now. I 'rolled back' to an April restore point. Still no success but different messages.
Programme loads then: Could not load default gradients because the file could not be found.' Then same with, Patterns, Contours, Styles, Custom Shapes and tool presets. Finishes up with Could not initialize Photoshop because a required text resource file is missing.
After restoring to an earlier date duplicates of some of the folders have been made.
WXP SP2 CS2 1GB RAM.
I just upgraded to a 5D and LR4.. when I import the files load as CR2 files, not DNG files. When the files import it takes 4 files to find them. It also will not recognize the file names in the library. How do I fix this to import like it did in LR 3??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI make GIFs as a hobby. But what happen was that 3 days ago, I opened my Photoshop CS5.1 Extended version 12.1 (x64) and did the usual thing.
I went to Scripts and to Load Files into Stacks. I loaded my files and pressed OK. So here's the funny part, usually, the pictures will load by itself and eveyrthing will be in order. But what happen was that the layers load to around 6 to 7 layers and everything just disappear. Literally disappear. Like I didn't even load anything. No canvas, no images, nothing. I thought it was a bug or something so I reinstalled my CS5 but the problem remains.
So I try with my CS6 Extended version 13.0 x64. (That I barely use because I'm still more comfortable with CS5.) And the same thing happens.
I decided to Google it and nothing comes up. I do not know whether is it my laptop or something went wrong somewhere. This has never happen before for the amount of time I have CS5.
I even change my scratch disc space. Last time it was on (C) with around 20GB space and nothing happens. So I changed it to my D drive and it has atleast 150GB space. I even tried closing every applications I have to test whether is it something related to my ram. But nothing happens. The problem remains.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to load patterns, and when I click on Load Patterns..., none of my .pat files are showing. I only have one showing right now, and that is only because i did the following: I clicked the "Reset to Default" button, which brought up the default patterns. Once that was loaded,
I reset that as the default and now that is the only .pat file that shows. If I go to the preset folder in CS5, I can see the list of .pat files, yet they won't show up when I try to load a new pattern folder.
I Have down loaded up- dates so much so that you will not give me any more.But I still cannot load NEF Files on to Elements 10 Directly.
It just take a great deal of time down loading & turning them into TIFF files, is there an alternative without upsetting my bank manager?
When in Bridge, after selecting 6 images (CR2) using the command TOOLS>LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS the first file will load into Photoshop, Photoshop will then generate a second blank layer and then read the second file. At this point the "script" will stop. I am left with a document with 2 layers. The top layer has my first image, the bottom layer is empty.
At this point when I quit Photoshop I am prompted to save this open document which appears to be the only open document. I choose not to save this as a file. I then get a dialogue box prompting to save another open document. Photoshop has loaded the second file to place as a layer but as the "script" has aborted I am left with an open, but invisible file.
When I first loaded CS6 on Snow Leopard, it would demonstrate this behaviour every time I attempted to run this command from Bridge.I did a clean install on a blank HDD of OSX Lion. Installed CS6. The command worked without fail for about a month.
Then I would get the command aborting occasionally. Restarting Photoshop would let me continue for a few hours before this aborted script problem would happen again. Over the last week it has become more frequent, to a point where this workflow is unusable.
A restart of Photoshop may fix the problem for the next batch of images, only to fail again soon after, or fail on the first attempt after a relaunch of Photoshop. A reboot of my computer will allow my to load one or two sets of files before again failing to complete the command.
I have tried the following:
In Photoshop preferences:
disabling the "Use graphics Processor"
Increasing or decreasing the amount of RAM available to Photoshop
Changing the cache levels or changing the cache tile size
changing the scratch disk
Trashing the Photoshop preferences file (Photoshop Settings.psp)
In Bridge
Purging the cache
Increasing or decreasing the cache size
Resetting Bridge preferences (holding Command on launch) and deleting all cache files.
In general system
Quitting extra programs (Safari, Thunderbird, iTunes)
Sometimes this will seem to then allow Photoshop to load a full set of images, only to abort again after a few sets.
Rebooting the computer - again will work for a few images sets before again failing.
Now the fact that it worked fine for several weeks without presenting a problem would indicate that it is not a bug.The fact that is slowly started happening then became more frequent would indicate something changing slowly over time - a larger cache folder perhaps, although purging known Bridge cache folders has not filed the problem.

I had a problem with bridge CS6 dynamic link failing and had tech support finally discuss the problem by phone They had me reinstall PSCS6 and Bridge among other things like setting the permissions differenty. It worked ok when I opened it again after those changes and then I closed the apps and opened them again the next day (today) but now the CR files will show no thumbnails nor previews in bridge and will not load into PSCS6. I get now the following error messages
These are files that are on my system and not from a camera plugged into the computer. They had worked just fine before the reinstall and permisisons changes the tech had me do. They open in the preview app and look fine so I know they are not corrupted files and I have tried different saved versions of the same (or any other CR file) and none of them will now open and Camera raw itself seems no where to be found. My prefences in camera raw have not clanged.
I tried image processor in bridge to make them PS files and got the following error message.I tried to load one of the CR files from the finder dirretly and got the following error message.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have CS6 64bit on a reasonably up to date windows 7 system. Just checked for CS6 upgrades 7/14/13, and have the latest version (13.0.1.2).
Things have been working fine since I installed the product about a month ago.
At some point something went wrong and it now takes 30 seconds or more to load a file via "file>open..."
It also takes 30 or more second just for photomerge to display the file dialog from "file>automate>photomerge..."
All other photo s/w I have loads raw files, tifs, jpegs, etc... very quickly. This is CS6 specific.
I disabled loading of plugins, didn't work (CS6 starts quickly enough, just not so much file loading).
i am using ps cs3. i have more brushes than i can display so have created a separate brushes folder within the adobe photoshop cs3 folder. it's on the same level as the presets folder. until recently, i've been able to go to that folder from the 'load brushes' option. now, however, when i select 'load brushes' only a few folders are displayed within the adobe ps cs3 folder.
i can no longer see my brushes folder [the one that's on the same level as the presets folder]. on the screencap, you can see the brushes folder and the presets folder. i should be able to navigate to the brushes folder from within photoshop but it doesn't appear.
this is what i see within ps cs at the same level: why isn't the brushes folder showing from within ps? i've been using it for ages and suddenly it doesn't appear.

Moreover, the program freezes many times.
Am I doing something wrong or is not possible to load only a type of file?

Using Photoshop Elements 6 on Mac with Lion 10.7. As with other users, I am unable to load styles downloaded from net (asl files). Shapes, brushes, and patterns load just fine. Have tried placing them in styles folder in presets (that didn't work) and library application folder for styles (that didn't work). Have tried removing preferences file for styles from preferences folder and doing both of the above (didn't work).
Do i use back up, export or copy/move .

I've a large number of DV AVI (Type 2) files I've edited several times using VS. But in the last couple of days X3 has stopped loading them into the project timeline. I suspect I have inadvertently deleted, or unlinked, the Type 2 codec. Strangely, the files play OK with Media Player, it's just X3 that's refusing to work! I've reinstalled X3 but that's not made any difference. How do I identify the codecs available?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a lot of scenes that have become exceedingly slow to save and load. Like often taking 10 to 20 minutes to save. With looming deadlines this is becoming really desperate! I've tried merging into a new scene, running scripts to clean out notetracks etc. Even after deleting every object and material, and resetting all render settings, the file is still inexplicably slow. See attached example.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to import the AI EPS image (files done & saved on Adobe Illustrator) to Ventura 8 using a script? Basically, unlike EPS / TIFF / or JPEG images, the AI EPS images could be loaded in Ventura using script, but the script has a different behavior. It flawlessly loads & imports the AI EPS (you could see the AI EPS files in Ventura publication chapter file navigator), but the image does not load in the publication template.
In order for these AI EPS images to get loaded & appear in the template, they need to be imported as Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) using the Filter Type option (attached image for reference).
Is it somehow possible to load .exr (OpenEXR) files with PSP X4? This format seems not to be natively supported, the Photoshop plugin does not seem to work
