View 2 RepliesI am run Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-bit (from design premium) on Windows 7, 64-bit with 8GB RAM.
When I first start PS, it looks like it freeze on the text "Measuring Memory". If I wait for about 30 seconds, it will eventually load and everything works fine. No issues with Save for Web or anything.
I have read the other threads on this and tried all of these solutions:
Checked my ram in memtest (15 passes, no error)Trash preferences and open again UN-install and re-install (tried twice)Updated PS to latest with Adobe Update Reboot machine .
This happen when I first run Windows, so lack of RAM is not the issue. I have no printers, other hard drive, or remote network drive attached to machine. Scratched disk is set to the boot disk (C:)
Illustrator CS6 and InDesign CS6 load normally.

All updates to Photoshop were installed last time I ran it with no problems.No new hardware has been installed since.Installed Classic Shell since last use, so I uninstalled it but the error persists.Installed Diet Tracker but they don't interfere with each on on the system at home so I know there's no problem there.Nothing else installed except Windows updates.I tried restoring back to the last time I used it still got the error, so undid the restore.I tried repairing Photoshop .no change.I uninstalled Photoshop, rebooted, installed Photoshop. it loaded slower then and the last thing I saw load was plugins then something about Python and then the error again.When I try to open the program, it goes so fast that I can't see what's loaded and where it stops now.
In the 3d Materials Panel in Adobe Photoshop Extended CS6, the REPLACE TEXTURE and LOAD TEXTURE commands for the 3d materials seem to create a single "smart" texture that all other textures created via the "replace/load texture" commands link to.
For instance, to texture a sphere using a Photoshop file, I first created a file called "horizontal stripes for 3d peel.psd" and saved it on my desktop. I went to the Materials Panel>Diffuse>(Clicked icon to right of "Diffuse") and chose "Load Texture>"horizontal stripes for 3d peel.psd," to apply it to my sphere. I then edited this diffuse file by right-clicking the icon to the right of "Diffuse," choosing "Edit" and adding a color layer at the top of the layer stack, then saving (not saving as) and closing the Diffuse .PSB smart object file.
I then loaded a texture to the Opacity material of my sphere using the same Photoshop file on my desktop called "horizontal stripes for 3d peel.psd", going to Materials Panel>Opacity>(Clicking the icon to the right of "Opacity") and choosing "Load Texture>"horizontal stripes for 3d peel.psd," When I opened this file to edit it by right-clicking the icon to right of "Opacity" and choosing "Edit," I found I'd loaded not the original file on my desktop that I had chosen, but my edited "Diffuse" file. Furthermore, these Diffuse and Opacity files appear not to be independently editable--they behave like linked Smart Objects, and when one is edited, the other is updated with the changes.
Is this a bug? I can't find any mention of this behavior in the Photoshop User Manual. I'm using Windows 7, and I get the same behavior on 2 different computers with Photoshop. [URL].........
I had hoped to use the Load/Replace texture command as a quick way to load up independently editable versions of the same file to the different 3d material attributes (opacity, shine, etc.), but that doesn't seem possible. Or is there a better way to do this?
After completing adjustments to raw images and clicking Open Image the adjusted image appears in Photoshop CS5 as a checker board only.Working with CS5 and Windows 7

View 2 Replies View RelatedOut of action on CS2 for over a week now. I 'rolled back' to an April restore point. Still no success but different messages.
Programme loads then: Could not load default gradients because the file could not be found.' Then same with, Patterns, Contours, Styles, Custom Shapes and tool presets. Finishes up with Could not initialize Photoshop because a required text resource file is missing.
After restoring to an earlier date duplicates of some of the folders have been made.
WXP SP2 CS2 1GB RAM.
I recently downloaded cs5 and it won't download .mp4 files to layers. whenever i go to file > import > video frames to layers, the mp4 files are greyed out and i can only click on .avi files.
there is no high quality converter from mp4 to avi, so it's quite frustrating.
I use Photoshop CS5 extended version 12.0 64bit. I don't know why but some of my files I created have stripes on them when I reopen to work on them. It looks like some layers get corrupt and have horizontal stripes along the width of the image.

I downloaded the update to the server and I even re-installed Photoshop Extended CS6. I have the Master Collection. I also have anti-virus software that I have turned off. It still does not work. Can family filters for my family be the cause of the server not being found?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a library of models created in 3D Studio Max with vray and haven't been able to import the meshes with their mtl files and jpeg texture maps into cs5 extended. I was able to import the meshes as a 3ds file but was limited to the number of faces and the resultant quality was hit or miss.
I could also import obj files as a single mesh comprised of what should have been several separate meshes. In both cases without a connection to their mtl files or their jpeg texture files. I heard that there is a vray plug-in for Photoshop.
Photoshop keeps crashing when i open specific .psd files, but they'll open and function in Windows 7. ( all files were created on a mac)The files are quite important because i need them for work, and i can't keep working on a Windows just for those couples of files.I have the crash report, but it makes no sense to me at all.

I just upgraded to a 5D and LR4.. when I import the files load as CR2 files, not DNG files. When the files import it takes 4 files to find them. It also will not recognize the file names in the library. How do I fix this to import like it did in LR 3??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI make GIFs as a hobby. But what happen was that 3 days ago, I opened my Photoshop CS5.1 Extended version 12.1 (x64) and did the usual thing.
I went to Scripts and to Load Files into Stacks. I loaded my files and pressed OK. So here's the funny part, usually, the pictures will load by itself and eveyrthing will be in order. But what happen was that the layers load to around 6 to 7 layers and everything just disappear. Literally disappear. Like I didn't even load anything. No canvas, no images, nothing. I thought it was a bug or something so I reinstalled my CS5 but the problem remains.
So I try with my CS6 Extended version 13.0 x64. (That I barely use because I'm still more comfortable with CS5.) And the same thing happens.
I decided to Google it and nothing comes up. I do not know whether is it my laptop or something went wrong somewhere. This has never happen before for the amount of time I have CS5.
I even change my scratch disc space. Last time it was on (C) with around 20GB space and nothing happens. So I changed it to my D drive and it has atleast 150GB space. I even tried closing every applications I have to test whether is it something related to my ram. But nothing happens. The problem remains.

In PS CS6 (trial version for windows - I use windows 7) ordinary photo files only load partially. Huge pixel blocks seem te be absent. Only after a second attempt they load as should be. My hardware is rather up to date (6 GB work memory); I 've never had this problem in CS 5.

And in case anyone needs to know.....Its a brand new laptop just bought it last week! Its running on a dual core intel at 2.0GHz 4g of ram 512 graphics card!

View 15 Replies View Relatedthe Photoshop CS5.1 that I have installed on my Windows 7 64b has stopped working. It still works on my other computer though. It starts up just fine, but when I go to Open a PSD file (which I have edited here before) nothing happens -- absolutely nothing! When I try to create a new file the same nothing happens. I sure hope I don't have to reinstall or something. I don't think I've made any updates to Photoshop, it just stopped working this week for no apparent reason that I can think of. I also went back and tried my CS5 version and the same thing happens.

But it does not open my .psd files, only if I run Photoshop CS6 and go File > Open > "and then open the file", it will open, but If I go to the file it self it does not recognize CS6 as the default program or to open it. It tells me it cannot find a program to open the .psd file with. I only have one showing right now, and that is only because i did the following: I clicked the "Reset to Default" button, which brought up the default patterns. Once that was loaded,
I reset that as the default and now that is the only .pat file that shows. If I go to the preset folder in CS5, I can see the list of .pat files, yet they won't show up when I try to load a new pattern folder.
I Have down loaded up- dates so much so that you will not give me any more.But I still cannot load NEF Files on to Elements 10 Directly.
It just take a great deal of time down loading & turning them into TIFF files, is there an alternative without upsetting my bank manager?
Whenever I try to open a file in Photoshop CS 5 extended it says it is not the right kind of document. I've checked the file extensions which are correct. The files themselves are not corrupt as I can open them in other programs..
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen in Bridge, after selecting 6 images (CR2) using the command TOOLS>LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS the first file will load into Photoshop, Photoshop will then generate a second blank layer and then read the second file. At this point the "script" will stop. I am left with a document with 2 layers. The top layer has my first image, the bottom layer is empty.
At this point when I quit Photoshop I am prompted to save this open document which appears to be the only open document. I choose not to save this as a file. I then get a dialogue box prompting to save another open document. Photoshop has loaded the second file to place as a layer but as the "script" has aborted I am left with an open, but invisible file.
When I first loaded CS6 on Snow Leopard, it would demonstrate this behaviour every time I attempted to run this command from Bridge.I did a clean install on a blank HDD of OSX Lion. Installed CS6. The command worked without fail for about a month.
Then I would get the command aborting occasionally. Restarting Photoshop would let me continue for a few hours before this aborted script problem would happen again. Over the last week it has become more frequent, to a point where this workflow is unusable.
A restart of Photoshop may fix the problem for the next batch of images, only to fail again soon after, or fail on the first attempt after a relaunch of Photoshop. A reboot of my computer will allow my to load one or two sets of files before again failing to complete the command.
I have tried the following:
In Photoshop preferences:
disabling the "Use graphics Processor"
Increasing or decreasing the amount of RAM available to Photoshop
Changing the cache levels or changing the cache tile size
changing the scratch disk
Trashing the Photoshop preferences file (Photoshop Settings.psp)
In Bridge
Purging the cache
Increasing or decreasing the cache size
Resetting Bridge preferences (holding Command on launch) and deleting all cache files.
In general system
Quitting extra programs (Safari, Thunderbird, iTunes)
Sometimes this will seem to then allow Photoshop to load a full set of images, only to abort again after a few sets.
Rebooting the computer - again will work for a few images sets before again failing.
Now the fact that it worked fine for several weeks without presenting a problem would indicate that it is not a bug.The fact that is slowly started happening then became more frequent would indicate something changing slowly over time - a larger cache folder perhaps, although purging known Bridge cache folders has not filed the problem.

I had a problem with bridge CS6 dynamic link failing and had tech support finally discuss the problem by phone They had me reinstall PSCS6 and Bridge among other things like setting the permissions differenty. It worked ok when I opened it again after those changes and then I closed the apps and opened them again the next day (today) but now the CR files will show no thumbnails nor previews in bridge and will not load into PSCS6. I get now the following error messages
These are files that are on my system and not from a camera plugged into the computer. They had worked just fine before the reinstall and permisisons changes the tech had me do. They open in the preview app and look fine so I know they are not corrupted files and I have tried different saved versions of the same (or any other CR file) and none of them will now open and Camera raw itself seems no where to be found. My prefences in camera raw have not clanged.
I tried image processor in bridge to make them PS files and got the following error message.I tried to load one of the CR files from the finder dirretly and got the following error message.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have CS6 64bit on a reasonably up to date windows 7 system. Just checked for CS6 upgrades 7/14/13, and have the latest version (13.0.1.2).
Things have been working fine since I installed the product about a month ago.
At some point something went wrong and it now takes 30 seconds or more to load a file via "file>open..."
It also takes 30 or more second just for photomerge to display the file dialog from "file>automate>photomerge..."
All other photo s/w I have loads raw files, tifs, jpegs, etc... very quickly. This is CS6 specific.
I disabled loading of plugins, didn't work (CS6 starts quickly enough, just not so much file loading).
i am using ps cs3. i have more brushes than i can display so have created a separate brushes folder within the adobe photoshop cs3 folder. it's on the same level as the presets folder. until recently, i've been able to go to that folder from the 'load brushes' option. now, however, when i select 'load brushes' only a few folders are displayed within the adobe ps cs3 folder.
i can no longer see my brushes folder [the one that's on the same level as the presets folder]. on the screencap, you can see the brushes folder and the presets folder. i should be able to navigate to the brushes folder from within photoshop but it doesn't appear.
this is what i see within ps cs at the same level: why isn't the brushes folder showing from within ps? i've been using it for ages and suddenly it doesn't appear.
