I recently downloaded cs5 and it won't download .mp4 files to layers. whenever i go to file > import > video frames to layers, the mp4 files are greyed out and i can only click on .avi files.
there is no high quality converter from mp4 to avi, so it's quite frustrating.
10.7.4/Mac Pro/PhotoshopCS6 13.0 - When cmyk converting a multilayered rgb file layers containing transparency doesn't convert to same profile as layers not including transparency, e.g. a product with a shadow - each on separate layers.
the product layer is converted to working Color settings but the transparent layer isn't and is converted completely different, both grayscale and UCR/GCR.
I have been using CS4 Exteded and am having a problem with the layers/marquee. I create a duplicate layer-multiply it- then use the marquee to select an area in the center to delete (i.e. vignette) and am having a strange thing happen. I will delete the selected area in the top layer and am noticing a "line" on a side. It is obviously darker and is based on the size of the marqueed area...like it is not feathered enough to get to that area. I am feathering the top layer when I use the marquee but it is still happening.

I'm using a Mac and I've already switched my CS5 to a 32-bit version, but the video is greyed out even though it's an mp4 and won't let me import the video.
I've looked through some tutorials, and everything should work. I'm have Quicktime version 10.2, so that should be the latest version?
layers problem in PS cs5 extended, when working in a layer, all layers changes at once i.e size, cropping, smart object etc. even the background layer changes..
My system windows 7 64 bit 4gb ram. It is not grouped, deleted preferences, usually work in rgb/ 8 bit channel - have same problem with all new projects.
Just recently started getting the follwing error when opening any file up in Photoshop CS6 Extended. Running Windos 8, 64bit with 16GB of RAM and plenty of free disk space.

I have now exactly the same problem as below with over 1000 images, I have saved them in .psd that has over 100 layers each. On top of those there is curves and levels layer that affects every layer below. I want to save all images to .jpg for videoedit with those curves at least. I don't want to merge same curves 100 times. Is there a solution in phothoshop cs5 or cs6 available? Would save alot of working hours. All I have got by this far is blank white images of adjustment layers and non adjusted jpg-files.

And say I created 3 adjustment layers on top of those 100 layers to get the adjustments that i want for those layers. I'm happy with the adjustments but Then I NEED to merge those 3 adjustment layers to ALL those 100 layers.
Is there a way to easily permanently apply the adjustments to each of those layers without having to do it manually? I absolutely need to merge the adjustments to the seperate layers because of how the layers are being used in a seperate 3d program.
So far what I've been doing is duplicating the adjustment layers for each layer and merging them to said layers separately.. I wish I could just right click the adjustment layer and Tell it to merge to everylayer it affects or apply to every layer underneath it!
After completing adjustments to raw images and clicking Open Image the adjusted image appears in Photoshop CS5 as a checker board only.Working with CS5 and Windows 7

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a library of models created in 3D Studio Max with vray and haven't been able to import the meshes with their mtl files and jpeg texture maps into cs5 extended. I was able to import the meshes as a 3ds file but was limited to the number of faces and the resultant quality was hit or miss.
I could also import obj files as a single mesh comprised of what should have been several separate meshes. In both cases without a connection to their mtl files or their jpeg texture files. I heard that there is a vray plug-in for Photoshop.
Photoshop keeps crashing when i open specific .psd files, but they'll open and function in Windows 7. I am working on a museum project. I have been asked to convert full resolution files to web based files using "Save for Web and Devices". The problem is in the file naming. Museums typically use accession #s for each work. Example 1999.63.102 So the digital file would be named 1999.63.102.jpg (or tif).
When I attempt to save the file using "Save for Web and Devices" the resulting name is converted to 1999.jpg I believe the . (periods) to be the culprit. There are hundreds to do so renaming is not an option. This does not occur when I use "Save as".
I just bought a Nikon D7000 and my iMac OS 10.7.5 does not recognize it, I cannot see the D7000 on the Desktop, Bridge, Photoshop CS4 Extended, etc

It starts up just fine, but when I go to Open a PSD file (which I have edited here before) nothing happens -- absolutely nothing! When I try to create a new file the same nothing happens. I sure hope I don't have to reinstall or something. I don't think I've made any updates to Photoshop, it just stopped working this week for no apparent reason that I can think of. I also went back and tried my CS5 version and the same thing happens.

But it does not open my .psd files, only if I run Photoshop CS6 and go File > Open > "and then open the file", it will open, but If I go to the file it self it does not recognize CS6 as the default program or to open it. It tells me it cannot find a program to open the .psd file with. I'm looking for a way to convert the series of adjustment layers into a single action so that I can batch process a set of images. Can this be done?
Unless I'm missing something, it appears that no trivial solution exisits. For example, there's no option that allows for selecting the adjustment layers, right clicking them, and choosing 'convert to action.' What I want to avoid is having to redo each adjustment layer just for the sake of recording an action.
Also, I understand that I can always "place" (i.e. drag and drop) the image requiring processing into the Photoshop document containing the adjustment layers, saving a merged copy as jpeg, and repeat... but such a manual method would border on insulting to this prowess of a program.
Any method of recording an action that can make use of the document with the adjustment layers and a variable document that will be passed through during the batch process.
While working and when the job was nearly done (Photoshop document with several layers to correct wrinkles, teeth, neck...) , I found out that the document is setup RGB.I have to convert it into CMYK but I don't want to merge it or lose layers since I need them in another Photoshop document too.
While converting the image from RGB to CMYK, I found out that some of the layers (hue/saturation adjustment layers) don't exist anymore when converted to CMYK...How do I get these layers (or at least the effect they give to the design) in CMYK?
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.

I am trying to import a survey drawing from CAD to ArcGIS (Version 10 Editor). When I import it seems to import all layer types except for ACC_Parcel_segments. It will import polylines, arc, circle etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been given a drawing which needs to be converted to an AutoCad drawing. I can do that but I need the thematic rules (defined in the Style Editor) to be transferred to unique AutoCad layers and the layers named according to the corrsponding Legend Label.
eg. in the Style Editor I have rules such as :
"NAME" = building
"NAME" = tree
"NAME" = road
So, when I run the MAPTOACAD command I want each of the above to be transferred to AutoCad layers named after the correpsonding Legend Label.
