I am trying to import a survey drawing from CAD to ArcGIS (Version 10 Editor). When I import it seems to import all layer types except for ACC_Parcel_segments. It will import polylines, arc, circle etc.
View 2 RepliesI've been given a drawing which needs to be converted to an AutoCad drawing. I can do that but I need the thematic rules (defined in the Style Editor) to be transferred to unique AutoCad layers and the layers named according to the corrsponding Legend Label.
eg. in the Style Editor I have rules such as :
"NAME" = building
"NAME" = tree
"NAME" = road
So, when I run the MAPTOACAD command I want each of the above to be transferred to AutoCad layers named after the correpsonding Legend Label.
I recently Started using civil 3d 2011, and we are implementing a new standard of layers, How can I convert my old layers to the new style. Is there a transition that I may use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new architectural drawing which I originally attached as an XREF but then bound to my drawing. I inserted my border in Paperspace and when I view or print it from there my room numbers are not there. I have not frozen them in the viewport or used any overrides.
Just another hint. I isolated the layer and when i tried to manipulate one of the blocks it said that the attributes were on a locked layer. I then grabbed all of the room numbers on that layer (there are two separate layers with room numbers and both are acting the same way) and moved them to a new layer I created and still have no luck.
How do I get all the layers I want to display in paper space?
May i know why some of the layers appear in model but missing in my layout drawing ? Is it had been frozen ? How can i unfreeze it ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am missing the icons for the "ON/OFF", "FREEZE", and "LOCK" in the Layer Properties Manager in AutoCAD 2010. Recently upgraded computer to 64-bit and had to re-install 2010. Since then, it takes forever to reload the Properties Manager. Adding new layers, trying to turn layers on/off, freeze layers, etc. causes the Manager to reload. The file I am working with is only 75 kb, tiny in comparison to files I usually work with. My co-worker has a 64-bit and 2010 as well, and her Properties Manager is working just fine. Do I have to reload 2010?

I use to have before I dowloaded the english version of cs6, the spanish version, and it doesn't have that button either (I think) The question is, is there a problem with my version of cs6?
I have subroutine that retrieves a list of detail numbers in a drawing. Sometimes there are missing numbers. I am looking to find a list of any missing numbers.
Example -
(setq List_DN (list 1 2 3 5 6 7 10 11 12 17))
Missing numbers are - 4,8,9,13,14,15,16
I would like a subroutine to take the List_DN are return the following missing numbers as text
(Get_Missing List_DN)
return
4,8-9,13-16
My problem is when i place PSD file into illustrator, it opens up "Photoshop Import Option" menu, which lets me choose either:
(1) convert photoshop layers to objects (or)
(2) Flatten photoshop layers to a single image
All other options are greyed out (meaning i cannot select them). The above 2 options will embed the image into illustrator, thus when i update in photoshop, they will not auto update.
I dont have this problem in the past (which means i dont get this menu when i use the place function) but it just poped up the last week.But when i open OLD illustrator files which have PSD images not embeded, i am able to edit the PSD and illustrator will auto update.
it is really frustrating to keep placing PSD files everytime when i have changes.
I am taking 4 images and putting them together into 1 image. When I import that image into Quark only the first image appears; the other 3 are missing. I have done the same procedure many times before with success.

On the right side of the screen it has always had my Info, Navigator, Colours, & Layers.
I did something and now it wont show me my layers.
My life revolves around that....
ALSO
To the left of that it has always had my history, Tool Presets, Clonesource, etc.
My history went missing from that too.
How do I get this back also?
I am using 2014 Revit and have some problem with the exported AutoCAD layers from Revit.
My project has 3 levels and I exported the floor plans from Revit. Ground level and third level have all the elements like shown Revit, but the second floor plan doesn't show certain catagory items like columns. I already tried to create new level for the second floor plan, but the exported result is the same. I am not sure if there is any setting to control the layer visibility when it is being exported.
I'm trying to add a new layer to my graphic and when I go to the Pages/Layers Gallery, there are no options for layers. Am I missing something? I'm using XDP X.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using GIMP for a large image file over the last few weeks. It has many layers, and the file size itself is 1.3 G. The program has crashed a number of times while working on the image, though I have never had any problem with loss of data.
I opened it today to find that only a few of the layers within the image are there. I'm missing the bulk of the file. None of the layers are hidden.
I recently downloaded cs5 and it won't download .mp4 files to layers. whenever i go to file > import > video frames to layers, the mp4 files are greyed out and i can only click on .avi files.
there is no high quality converter from mp4 to avi, so it's quite frustrating.
I rendered a PSD sequence from Cinema 4D to do some manual texturing, I added some object buffers to make it less painfull as it's going to be frame by frame.
When I open 1 single frame I can see my object buffers in the channels, when I open my sequence I just get R, G, B, RGB.
I just opened up a project (.xcf) I hadn't worked on in a couple days only to find about half of the layers missing. I have no idea what's happened to them and I'd really like to get them back.

Script which would convert the layers in a document to artboards? At present I have a lot of documents with a couple of hundred layers on each of them, but I've decided to change the way that I organise my workflow and started using artboards instead. I don't really have the time to spend moving them individually from a layer over on to an artboard as there are a lot.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am downloading Tiff images from a partners website. After extracting the file and opening from Photoshop CS5.1 it's only displaying one of the original image layers. For example and image with two guys shaking hands in an office is only opening the clipped two guys and not showing the backgroud. The vendor says the files open fine on their end which leads me to believe its a download or photoshop issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy layers dock has gone missing. According to the list in my 'Windows' tab, it claims to be open. I have looked all over the screen. I have switched on and off again etc. I have even deliberately thrown other docks off the screen to see if they come back to normal screen area if I close and reopen Gimp- and they do. so it isn't lost off screen.
I have unistalled and re-insalled and it has not come back.
1. Go to Windows>recently closed docks - Mine says 'empty'
2. File>create docks - I don't have this option- mine choices are 'new', 'create', 'open', 'open as layers', ''open location', 'open recent'... then a few which pertain to having an image open that you're working on... then 'quit'.
3. I went to Youtube and the tutorials on how to make your Gimp like Photoshop and how to get back closed windows also haven't worked.
I'm on Gimp 2.6.
Seen this bug before on Mac OSX 10.6.8..CS6 Illustrator 16.0.3 Missing thumbnails and labels in the layers palette.Also note missing selections at the bottom of the palette.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having three 3D layers moving ontop of a background. Everything was working fine, although very slow on 8GB macbook pro late 2011. Everything was fine while testing it in the "motion window". Then i started rendering it and the output video file is missing two of the three layers? What is wrong? Additionally, if I now go back to the "motion window", i have the same problem: While playing the file, two layers are missing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Photoshop CS6 document with 20-some adjustment layers and would like to be able to apply their effect to multiple image files. I'm looking for a way to convert the series of adjustment layers into a single action so that I can batch process a set of images. Can this be done?
Unless I'm missing something, it appears that no trivial solution exisits. For example, there's no option that allows for selecting the adjustment layers, right clicking them, and choosing 'convert to action.' What I want to avoid is having to redo each adjustment layer just for the sake of recording an action.
Also, I understand that I can always "place" (i.e. drag and drop) the image requiring processing into the Photoshop document containing the adjustment layers, saving a merged copy as jpeg, and repeat... but such a manual method would border on insulting to this prowess of a program.
Any method of recording an action that can make use of the document with the adjustment layers and a variable document that will be passed through during the batch process.
While working and when the job was nearly done (Photoshop document with several layers to correct wrinkles, teeth, neck...) , I found out that the document is setup RGB.I have to convert it into CMYK but I don't want to merge it or lose layers since I need them in another Photoshop document too.
While converting the image from RGB to CMYK, I found out that some of the layers (hue/saturation adjustment layers) don't exist anymore when converted to CMYK...How do I get these layers (or at least the effect they give to the design) in CMYK?
The option to edit in Photoshop CS4 from Lightroom 4 and return is just fine. However, the option to Open images as layers in Photoshop is grayed out as well as the option to open as Smart Object or Merge.

the product layer is converted to working Color settings but the transparent layer isn't and is converted completely different, both grayscale and UCR/GCR.
AI CS6 Layers panel missing labels when you deselect print in the layer options. Is this a bug? I noticed this on a furnished file at work on a MacPro and had a hard time working the file because all of the labels were missing.
I stumbled on the cause when I turned on the Print Layer and all the labels came back. To be sure it was not computer related, I made a file on my AI CS6 version 16.1.0 with the same result. See screen shot.

I would like to know how to write a routine to thaw all layers in current drawing and multiple xrefs; then freeze all, then thaw only certain layers globally for a drawing that is open. Such as a dimension plan will thaw only *-BLDG, *-DIMS, *-RD-*, *BNDRY.
I would like to create one that will fit every project which has a different xref name.
We use AutoCad to name our dxf files for our Burn Table and whenever we get a new part it is a repetitive task to input layers and common text. So what I am curious is can AutoCAD input the layers and text automatically using a Macro?
I want the Macro to put in 6 layers and choose the layer color and title then input text boxes with word in 3 different layers. There will be about a total of 10 different text boxes with text already put in the boxes by the Macro.
I am currently updating and coming up with a better system for are plant layout file for AutoCAD. When this project is complete, it will be set up so if someone needs to make a change they can just make a copy of the X-Ref file for the area they will be updating and hand it back in when there done. I will review the updated X-Ref then switch out the old X-Ref file for the updated one.
Problem: the problem I am having is when I am in the master drawing that contains all the X-Ref files, the layers list becomes enormous. There are about 30 to 40 different X-Ref files with 15 layers each. Those 15 layers contain the exact same information but you have to edit them individually.
Question: Is there a way to make the 15 layers in the master effect the corresponding layer in all the X-ref files? For instance, you hide the “Machines” layer in the master and it hides the “Machines” layer in all the X-ref.
Side Note: If you were going to make the suggestion “use Xbind” I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work well because “Xbind” creates a new layer you have to assign to things instead of making the layers relate to one another.
