Photoshop :: CS4 - Cursor Turned Into Three Different (figures) In Line?
Nov 29, 2013
The cursor in my CS4 has turned into three different "figures" in line. This makes the program almost impossible to use and I cannot fin a way to come back to the normal "cross" again.
New to CAD, so probably typical newby problem. When I try to draw (in Nanocad, since it's the only one I can afford) I don't see what I'm doing, i.e. the lines and figures keep disappearing when I move the cursor. Trying again I see my drawings very briefly and then they're gone again. Tried all and every button, menu etc. and hardware is okay.
Recently my cursurs have turned to crosshairs. I have deleted my preferences, I have set cursurs to full size brush tip, yet when I use the crop or marquis tool. all I get is the crosshars.
All toggles are turned off and the cursor jumps all over the screen when zoomed in. Also, there are two rectangular boxes in the northeast quadrant of the crosshairs when moving near a point or node. How to eliminate this? All function keys are off.
I have a client who uses Bently MX Roads for road design and requires that survey data be supplied in GENIO format. I realise that there are many possible options to get Civil3D survey data into MX, but I am trying to explore the use of the Subscription Extension to Import/Export GENIO.
Surfaces - no problem. Points - I see how I can get that to work. But the only linework that can be exported is Feature Lines, and it is also important that the feature lines have a name (likely related to the layer it is on).
I can convert survey figures to feature lines and name them one by one but would be very time consuming for a whole survey. Is there any way of doing all figures at once?
I'm guessing not and that it is probably easier to do the Genio creation from dwg in MX itself.
I have a problem with a recently downloaded version of Inventor. When I start a new drawing all I get is a blank blue screen instead of one with a grid display. If I start a line I can see the cursor change to draw the line but a line does not appear. I don't know if it something with how I installed the program or just system settings.
I had a problem this morning where for some reason I needed to do a drawing recovery on a map - which is fine, all seems well.
The problem is that now when I type a command, it doesn't appear next to the cursor anymore. It's not really a NEED having it there, but I've gotten to like that in the newer CAD versions, and now I can't find the setting that makes it come back. Sure I CAN type everything and have it show just at the bottom of the screen, but I'd rather have my dynamic field back.
I had Corel Photo Paint v.9, have used it for years in addition to DRAW, but recently my computer died and I had to replace it. I installed it on the new machine, which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but the line tool suddenly started acting nuts. I would move the cursor to where I wanted to start the line and start the line with a mouse click. The line would then dart half-way down the screen and would be nowhere near the cursor's cross hairs making it difficult to work on images.
So, I figured it was a compatibility issue so I bought Corel Technical Suite X6 and have installed it. The line tool does exactly the same thing. The position of the line is nowhere near the crosshairs of the cursor. Is this a new "feature" or is this a bug? If the former, how can I get it to work like I am accustomed to working (I have used DRAW and Photopaint since the mid 1990's, using version 5.0). If the latter, how can I fix it?
Is there a way to change the cursor color in the command line in AutoCAD 2013?
When I change the background (active command) to black, the cursor blends into it and not visible. Can’t see where is my current position when editing coordinates. The command background was black and text white for the last 10 years for 20 drafters; we would like to keep it this way
I'm not sure what i changed but when im trying to sketch a line usually the little cursor turns from yellow to green when it snaps to an edge or a center. but its not snapping, how to get my line snap back.
Since last week (4-19-2012) Our users have been expierencing cursor issues and freezes with Civil 3d 2012. Entering commands in the command line very slugish, pressing the shift key to select / de-select, trim, open osnap menu, ext.
We are running Win7pro6d bit quad core machines with 6gb ram, ATI FirePro V4800 (FireGL), Intel Xeon ES640 (2.67 ghz). AutoCAD Civil 3D(SP2) and all hotfixes installed.
This problem just started one week ago and It started with the cursor jumping all over the place when crossing objects. However; we now have very sluggish command line entry, 2 - 3 seconds after typing till it shows up, and cursors freezing when pressing the shift key for any reason.
Using CS5, upgraded to Mavericks onMacbook Air. The cursor shows up in selection, direct selection, etc. as a black arrow or appropriate shape. BUT it all but dissappears as an ultra-faint grey? symbol in type, line, rectangle! how to get the cursors to be black or darker?
What are some of the techniques to trim unwanted pounds off a subject in your photo to make them look more trim and fit? What are the best and easiest ways to accomplish this?
I am wanting to trim the waist, hips and stomach area on a few models in a profile pose to make them more shapely.
I saw these images online and liked them and would like to make some parody Non-MMA Action Figures of my own, the problem is I can not figure out how the actual figures are made. I have been fooling around with images and Plastic Wrap Effect to no avail. I have actually done some research and think the figures may be made in a 3-D program like Poser, but not sure.
I have CS6 and am wondering how to create a white ("comic style"?) border around figures in an image, as in the examples below. I don't wish to include the black shadow of the border, just the white part.
Examples:
Here's the image I'd like to alter, making a white border around the outline of all five figures:
I researched for quite a while but could find no instructions.
How to make a human figure look like it has REAL depth.
If you have ever seen any of Ken Burns documentaries he uses a lot of pictures in his films from the past, but some of the figures or people in these stills appear in depth in such a way that they do not look flat.
Instead when the camera pans the picture they appear to be almost three dimensional inside the still. You can almost see in his stills there is a curvature to the outline of the figure. Their heads and bodies look as if they are inserted into the picture.
I have the removal of the background in the image down well enough but I don't know how to make the figure appear as if it is 3 dimensional in the new background. I wish I had a link to add here of his work as an example.
I have a drawing that is about a month old with survey data and a surface in it. I went in to modify the surface and noticed a crossing breakline message that was never addressed. I attempt to do a grip edit on the survey figure that is crossing ,and update the database from drawing and I get a message saying the figure is in not in the database. I know I have the correct database, because if I select the figure in the prospector tab It highlights the one I'm working with. Somehow the objects in the drawing have lost association with the database.
Any solutions short of re-inserting all my figures from the database? I'm not going to do that in this case since the edit was small and is already done.
My cursor appears and disappears while in GIMP as I move the cursor over the canvas. I can make the cursor appear but only if there is no movement of the cursor. It makes no difference which tool I select, the size of the canvas, or the level of zoom.
Please note that this only occurs in Gimp, and none of my other applications. It started when I upgraded from openSUSE 12.1 to 12.2. I'm assuming that it has something to do with my input device configuration, but I could be totally wrong.
I have a total of 3 input devices - Core Pointer, Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse, and Virtual Core XTEST Pointer. Both the Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer are DISABLED. Core Pointer is the only one enabled. Enabling Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer give me other problems in Gimp and need to remain disabled.
For the Core Pointer, Mode is set to SCREEN, a message says that 'The axis X has no curve', and the following Axis Settings: X 1 Y 2 Pressure none xtilt none ytilt none wheel none
In Gimp Preferences->Input Controllers, there are three active controllers - Mouse Buttons, Main Mouse Wheel, and Main Keyboard.
Is there a simple way of cutting a figures or items away from the backgrounds of one or more photos and and merging them into a paint net background image to make it look like the figures belong in the paint net image, not just superimposed or floating on the front of the image. I have been trying to create an image of my grandchildren together in one picture and not just stuck on, also trying to do this with animal images
what if i have points that are non-consecutive? the survey crew is new at this so i'm getting some higher number points that line work wise appear in the middle of lower number points. the figure seems to draw numerically. is there a way to do a figure by proximity?

What I basically want to do is like in Autocad, where we use the bpoly command to convert into regions before extruding them. The same thing, except in Illustrator.

I have imported surveydata into the survey database from FBK and processed linework. I do as many edits to my figures as I can by editing point codes and processing linework, then I fix the rest of the figures manually editing them and pushing the changes back to the survey database.
Once you have started manually editing figures you can no longer 'process linework' as you get double ups of figures you manually edited.
My issue is that I have made some adjustments to some of my control point coordinates after manually editing figures, so that all my survey points move. I try to update the survey figures so that they move with my points but Civil3D tells me that it cant update them because they were made by processing linework.
Is there anyway I can get my figures to match my points without reprocessing linework and then making all the manual edits again or exporting an FBK from the database, remove the figures and points from the dwg, reset the network and import the new FBK?
We should be able to update figures without processing linework, even if that was how the figures were originally made!
I'm setting up some computers for training some new users on Civil 3D 2011 and Im having problems with importing points and creating figure lines, works great on all the computers in the office, but in the training room can not get the figure lines to assign to the proper layers. They all go on the zero layer. All the setting I see are the same.
I am trying to create a Schedule that figures out Light Power density for each room. The first issue is getting Lights to register what room they are located in. The next issue is getting the room area parameter to show up in the available fields. It is funny b/c Volume shows up but not the room area. How hard could that have to been to add that to the available list since volume is there.
