I have CS6 and am wondering how to create a white ("comic style"?) border around figures in an image, as in the examples below. I don't wish to include the black shadow of the border, just the white part.

I researched for quite a while but could find no instructions.
I am a relative newbie to photoshop - I am trying to create a border around a logo that has rounded edges. I have used to stroke tool and it creates the border. However, when I try and save it and use it it still has square edges.
How do I get rid of the square edges?
Here's the thing happens :
1- BEFORE (a clean cutted image) :[URL]....
2- Using a plugin : (also with others): [URL]....
3- AFTER (white border) : [URL]....
This is so interesting.I use ''knockout2, remask3'' for cutting and ''Imagenomic Portraite'' for retouching.That never happened in CS4 32-bit.
Now i use CS6 64-bit and whenever i APPLY an effect/filter (include PS's Refine Edge) or plugin, there happens a strong white border/line on the image.
I can delete it by using so many ways like ''contract'' but it kills the details.
why is that happening?This must be an option or something cuz it never happened in any other photoshops that i used.I used the same plugins.
I have a logo and I successfully removed the border. How do I now create a white border around the logo.

I've installed 32-bit CS6 and now everything works perfect.No white lines after applying/resizng anything.
What I need to do is find an easy way to remove the white spacing around an item and have the item displayed tight to the edges.
For example: I need a quick and easy way to turn this into this
With the intention of then being able to resize the image to the exact dimensions I require before then resizing the canvas size to create the exact amount of white spacing between the tops and bottom of the image.
I have opened an image that was created with adobe illustrator. In this image there is a white border around the page. This causes that when i place an object on the edge of the page I only see the part of the object that is on the page. I like this very much.
But when I start a new project, the white border isn't there. How i can switch this ting on?
I'm using 2.8.4 on a MacBook Pro. When I create a text image with a transparent background and export as any file format, there's a white border around the ENTIRE image. A white box around the whole image. The background should be completely transparent. No border at all. Just words on a completely transparent background.

I managed to do it, but there's a small problem... when I convert the png to gif (to make the animated gif afterwards) the image gets a strange white border around the edges. I want to use that image in an application where the user select a color and the fadding creates a nice effect with any color (because the image has a color from transparent to white so if the user select blue then image will appear from blue to white and so on). I can't seem able to do that in Photoshop (tried with gif and png). The result gives me a white image whithout any transparancy.

I want to upload an image of this book cover to various web sites that require a Jpeg image and the book cover has to cover at least 85% of the image and require a pure white back ground. Pixel size can be 1,000 or more. I did go to the library to get reference books but, I can't ascertain from these books how to do this. I am a beginner to Photoshop and realize I will have to get training for future projects. I first used the polygon lasso tool to crop the logo from the original image and pasted it into a transparent background. I then turned it into an animated gif. Any ideas on how to remove the white edges from around the black ring of the logo (see image) I've just about tried everything I can think of. You probably cannot see what I mean with this background, but on a darker background like blue or green it is really noticeable.
