Photoshop :: Removing White Border From Around Logo
Jun 6, 2004I am creating animated buttons for my new topsite pages and cannot seem to rid my image of the white border around the logo in both layers. I first used the polygon lasso tool to crop the logo from the original image and pasted it into a transparent background. I then turned it into an animated gif. Any ideas on how to remove the white edges from around the black ring of the logo (see image) I've just about tried everything I can think of. You probably cannot see what I mean with this background, but on a darker background like blue or green it is really noticeable.

It is probably unnoticeable to many, but I would prefer to get it right. How can I make the background a pure white so that it blends in with the white of the wordpress theme?

Jul 1, 2013I used select by color to select this STEELERS word logo from this image below:
Now I cut and pasted it to a youth flag football team pic in the corner. But because I captured some of the sky in the background, the yellow STEELERS logo kind of blended in at that point as seen here (I cropped out the team and am just showing the corner):
Is there a way to select this logo by color and at the same time maybe widen that selection by a few pixels to capture some of the black around the STEELERS logo so that when I transfer it to the team pic, it stands out more by essentially creating a border around it?

But the colour range isn't true black and white, so using all sort of different methods such as magic wand selection, colour to alpha etc results in either really messy looking images or a lot of faffing around to correct the final image.

Everything looks just fine in Gimp, but when putting the icon on the desktop there appears a white border around my icon. The transparency works within the icon. Im using Windows Vista 32bit. In Exporer it looks like it has a border too.

A white box around the whole image. The background should be completely transparent. No border at all. Just words on a completely transparent background.

Apr 30, 2012I have difficulties managing the following: I have a disk area (A minimap) and I want to add one (or two) small borders (that look bumpy) around the disk.
I basically want to achieve something like this: [URL]..... As you can see it has an outer border ring (with a very small line in the middle) and another inner ring. The outer ring drops a little shadow onto the inner ring.
I tried the following: Made a circle (with selection tool) -> Selection -> Shrink (3px) -> Filled with grayish color. Now I have a ring and I tried to apply various filters onto this ring to create a border (mainly decor -> border filter, but they all produced weird results).

I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?

Apr 26, 2012Alright, with out pictures, let me try to explain what I'm trying to do I'm trying to create a black and white (grayscale) top-down gradient of half a cone.
I select a circle, and using the cone gradient, start from the middle and go outward to the edges. Great so far, I have a top-down cone, but what I really need is only half of that, as if I was creating a top-down volcano with the top half sliced off and a flat rounded middle.
This is becoming a bump-map so the RGB value must match perfectly the highest point of the gradient with the sliced off part.
